@JVR I do personally use a version of this that is abit different, I uploaded it if you want to check it.

I think it does what you argue for.

in my opnion wre should have both weaker infantry and cavalry compared to ere based on the fact that the wre in the fifth century was struggling to even pay their armies let alone provide them with top noptch training and equiptment, they should have more levys and a couple elite units where as the ere was still a strong economic power in the fifth century alotting them the ability to equipt and train regular troops, somthing that was history in the west during the fifth century crisis.

No problem, I love your mods. I was never into mods creating units that seem off balance and wrong. What I enjoy about your mods is that you make units available from DLC into the main game. I appeciate your time responses and updates. With your work, I can enjoy the Attila again and make waiting for Warhammer easier.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about BUCELLARII GUARD "AXEMEN". I've played the game, review everything and I don't see the axemen anywhere. There's Skutatoi Axemen but not the bucellarii variety. Please add BUCELLARII GUARD "AXEMEN"

it is cavalry 4 and infantry 3-4, will changed this to cav 3-4 instead (don't know why it was infantry should be only cav building)

@Alan It hasn't got a tech requirment yet, will put it in. aka you will beable to recruit the unit when you have the building required.

Hey Niklas, can you add Skutatoi Axemen and Brucellari axe to WRE too? That way I can recruit them on the main campaign. My reasoning being that WRE infantary should be stronger then ERE.

i recently deleted all my mods by accident and i remember a mod you had that updated all the tech tree with upgradable stuff lol i dont know how to explain it, as you progresdsded down the tree units were upgraded, like several of them not like vanilla, and also when you did the last one it changed all your units to imperials, was this one of your mods?

done changed the tech to something abit more achivable.

Tried to describe the workaround I made, but abit hard to put into word will try again:

It is hard to remove units without creating conflict with other mods, so my workaround is that Professional Soldiery tech makes Borderguards and Comitatenses Spear upgrade to limitantei for ERE, so at the begining of the game all spears upgrades to Limitantei, and then they upgrade to Skotatoi Spear etc later in the tech tree.
So ERE still has Borderguard and Comitatenses Spear but they just cannot recrute them because all of them are always upgraded to limitantei, this is why Comitatenses Spear and borderguards still show up in tech tree and in custom battle.

(don't know if that made it any clearer)

Perhaps it would be an idea to have the Bucellarii Guard Axeman recruitbale once you research elite priviliges. The same technology when you can build lvl 4 barracks. It takes a long time to research language of comradeship. For me, once I get there, the game is almost over :)

With regard to upgrading limitatei as upgrades for comitatenses spear not sure what you mean. There status differs a lot and comitantenses spear have a higher status. I believe that you currently have skutatoi spears as replacement for comitatenses spears which seems a good solution.

Again like the idea for this mod a lot!

1: For some reason lvl 2 barracks will always beable reqrute Bucellarii Guard Axemen, there are some kind of conflict with Last Roman Expedition campaign, so with this comming update I have solved it with another criteria to reqrute them which are "Language of Comradeship" tier 13 technology. Not perfect but closed before I understand the conflict more. (will not yet show in tech tree but have tested it and it do work)

2/3: reson for this is the same as why legio comitatenses and legio show up in custom battle,
the only way to remove units from a roste may couse conflict with other mods, which I try to evoid.
I could fix it but likly couse conflicts, if you are interested in a fix?

Currently I make a work where Limitatei are upgrades of Borderguards and Comitatenses Spear, but only ERE can make that upgrade, similar solution apply on Legio.

Hope that answer the question and address most of the issues :)

Couple of points. Grand campaign:
1) currently bucellarii guard axemen are recruitable from lvl 2 barracks. I would make this lvl 3 because they are more powerfull than skutatoi axemen.
2) In the description in the tech tree it says taht lanciarii seniores replace comitatenses spears but they are out so would remove this description
3) Custom battle legio comitatenses and legio are not recruitable for ERE

Overall I find this mod a good idea and it makes the ERE stand out more + adds a couple of interesting units. Hope you appreciate the feedback.

@lesama think I fixed this issues you mentioned, it's a quick fix, unitil I find a better way to implement it, but should work as intended for the subscribers.

Hi, tagmata cavalry is now recruitable from barracks lvl 1. In my opinion this elite cavalry unit should be recruitable only from lvl 3 or 4 cavalry barracks. Also the ERE now starts with legio comitatenses from lvl 1 barracks at the start of the game?

1: Tagmata cav should have been removed from WRE and ERE have just one in custom battles.

2: have changed this around from now on Skutatoi are now a side upgrade to Legio Comitatenses, and aswell and upgrade. depending on what tech you choice to research first

3: Have not addressed this but I will come around to changing the WRE so that they have atleast the unique roster as the WRE have gotten, and the cav change you suggestion will most likly be implemented if no other better idea comes up.

4?: Think I mentioned it before that I think Foederati should replace cohors, and most likly WRE, but havn't come that far but it is coming, have one issue is that cohors are rather better then foederati, I may make Foederati an early cohors

Talk about units that should be added Antesignani from LRE as an mirror unite to Eastern Armoured Legio for the WRE, thinking about buting in that for me WRE change but havn't decided yet

@Lesama @Sol Invictus The Tagmat cavelry now should only be one in ERE and WRE shouldn't have them anymore, Legio was recrutable, but I have now removed them and made some changes can read about them under change log above very soon.

Concerning the issue you highlighted on ERE starting with Skutatoi you could put Foederati from Last Roman in the place of Cohorts this would be quite realistic too as WRE used large amount of Foederati.

For ERE i'm not sure maybe keeping the Cohors but ultimately you know better what is possible from a technical standpoint. In the end I would be fine even with Foederati replacing Cohors for both Empires. The only minus is that Cohors unit is going to waste.

:) continuing our conversation here since is the relevant place. Love this mod. So far noticed a couple of things

1) It happens that now ERE has two units of Tagmata cav in their custom battle rosters. The vanilla one and the one from TLR. Probably one should be removed provided they have the same stats. Also I would remove Tagmata cav from WRE as they never had such type of cavalry.

2) I noticed how in the tech tree Legio Comitatensis are an upgrade of Skutatoi but it should be the opposite as according to Attila Encyclopedia statwise Skutatoi are better than Legio Comitatenses.

3) ERE now has both units of Last Roman Cataphracti and Climbanarii and vanilla Cataphractarii and Climbanarii. I would for example remove the vanilla units from ERE rosters and keep them WRE exclusives (WRE doesn't have Climbanarii so it would be a nice addition for them).

Ok was looking for something like this. Like how some of the LRE replace vanille ones. Two remarks. First the legio comitantes for ERE are not recruitable? Second is that in custom battles 2 tagmata cavalry are recruitable?
