@stich83guy Prototech isn't a DLC. It's new content from the Contact update.
stich83guy 17 Oct, 2024 @ 2:39am
ok i dont kn ow if im missing it but im not seeing a dlc for for the block at all what dlc is it bc i dont even see a Prototech dlc or anything yet for the game
Albee12  [author] 15 Oct, 2024 @ 4:05pm
Following up on the Prototech Batteries: due to the intent behind the new blocks (needing to move & merge them rather than deconstructing them), I will not be modifying their behavior with this mod, as I feel that would break the balancing way more than my current changes do. I have updated the mod's description to reflect this.

That said, please let me know if you encounter any oddities with either the regular batteries or the Prototechs while running this mod. I checked the definition files and the Prototechs have their own completely separate from the regulars, so there hopefully shouldn't be any issues.
Albee12  [author] 12 Oct, 2024 @ 7:04pm
@Sander Hydra I will look into it, time permitting. If they end up like how the warfare DLC blocks are (just reskinned vanilla batteries with their own data file), I should be able to just incorporate that into this mod like I did for the warfare ones.
Sander Hydra 12 Oct, 2024 @ 4:44pm
could you also make such a mod for the upcoming prototech blocks?
MrSleep 12 Oct, 2024 @ 5:31am
I would love a "pre-charge" version but no rush on time. This seems like a great mod and I look forward to adding it to the must haves. :)
pryde64 24 Sep, 2024 @ 5:54am
awesome mod just downloaded it no more making power cells
Mask of Humble 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:25pm
It still works, thank you for the response and no worries, I to would love a no pre-charge version of this mod, or at lest maybe a 5% version like IRL where any battery has a small pre-charge it would allow the battery to be slightly charged but not able to be taken advantaged of as a power producer as that 5% would be used by the welder and thus not be a viable way to automate the power production
Albee12  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:02pm
Also not sure why I didn't reply to this when it was first asked, but it should be trivial for me to make an alternate version with no "pre-charge." I can look into doing so if there is demand for such a version
Albee12  [author] 5 Aug, 2024 @ 7:00pm
@Mask of Humble apologies for the delayed response, have been busy IRL. To my knowledge this should still work as expected. Please let me know if it doesn't and I'll take a look when I can.
Mask of Humble 26 Jul, 2024 @ 11:10am
Any chance this still works?
Luduaver 5 Aug, 2022 @ 12:24pm
Any chance you can create a version that makes the battery not come pre-charged to 30% when building it?
Only your mod so far that works (At least the ones I could find) with Warfare DLC
Dalten 19 Feb, 2022 @ 6:00pm
Good evening, the warfare batteries now break down as expected, thank you so much!

Albee12  [author] 18 Feb, 2022 @ 5:10pm
@Dalten I have added the adjusted definitions for the Warfare 2 batteries, please give them a test for me to see if they give the power cells back as expected. Since I do not own the DLC I cannot test them myself, but the good news is I was able to load the mod without incident.

@CALiiGeddon Thank you for the kind words! I'm happy that people still enjoy the mod after all this time. I too think the early-game is where it works best, since it can be pretty punishing to lose a lot of power cells just because you need to move a battery. Later in the game it's not as much a problem once you have a lot more resources, so it makes sense in the context of tiered mods and the like. Also doesn't ruin the balance too much :D
CALiiGeddon 18 Feb, 2022 @ 2:46am
Love this mod, thanks for the early game savings on batteries. I use the LWTS tiered everything and this mod doesn't work for that mod but at that point you should have the resources to build more anyway.
Dalten 17 Feb, 2022 @ 3:50pm
cheers, understood.
Albee12  [author] 17 Feb, 2022 @ 2:01pm
@Dalten I can try to do this. I found the block definition in the game files, I just want to make sure that I can add it without it requiring players to own the DLC. I don't own it myself so I should be able to find out pretty quick if it will be problematic. Hopefully I can work on this tomorrow evening.
Dalten 17 Feb, 2022 @ 9:43am
Good afternoon, I have confirmed that the new decorative warfare batteries are not covered by this mod. If you have a chance, would you please update the mod to include them? I'd greatly appreciate it. tysm.
Brother Nature 27 Sep, 2021 @ 5:23am
Thanks @Albee12! :D
Dalten 11 Sep, 2021 @ 11:26am
thanks for continuing to maintaining this most essential mod :)
Albee12  [author] 11 Sep, 2021 @ 9:01am
@GRoss thanks for reporting this, I believe it should be fixed now. I took a look and the definitions file I was using no longer exists in the game, so I just had to change it to use the right one. Let me know if you have any more trouble.

Just as a general PSA to everyone, I can't fix an issue if I don't know about it. Since I don't play SE very often, you should assume that anything you encounter is not a known issue unless I have specifically mentioned it. I will do my best to look into it and hopefully fix it when I can!
Brother Nature 11 Sep, 2021 @ 5:28am
Do I need to do anything other than "Subscribe" to get it working in game? I have no other mods, but this does not seem to work, even though I restarted the game :(
Spid 3 Jul, 2020 @ 2:09pm
@Albee12 It does not work with 'More Powerful Energyressources' Sadly... But still a nice mod
Commander Star 14 Jul, 2019 @ 9:03pm
@BoilingOil It works with all vanilla batteries, azimuth batteries (Azimuth Power Modpack/Azimuth Mega Modpack), does not work with RB Compact Battery. They are the mods I have that add new batteries.
MagicMarker 13 Jul, 2019 @ 7:11pm
@Albee12: thank you for your quick response. Good to know that it was *designed* only with vanilla batteries in mind. Anything else that works, is just an added bonus, then. I understand.

@Commander Star: I would appreciate that very much. Thank you in advance for your time and effort.
Albee12  [author] 13 Jul, 2019 @ 7:03pm
@BoilingOil This mod only affects vanilla batteries. If others are affected it may only be because they reference the vanilla files; I’ve never used Azimuth batteries so I can’t say how that mod is designed.
Commander Star 13 Jul, 2019 @ 6:55pm
@BoilingOil I will check all of the mods I have installed that add batteries later today. So I can test them for you.
MagicMarker 13 Jul, 2019 @ 3:53pm
@Albee12: I'd like to know which all batteries are affected by this mod. All of them, or only vanilla, or vanilla and some others? I saw @Commander Star mention, some time ago, that this also worked for Azimuth batteries, but is that still the case?
Racer2017 4 Mar, 2019 @ 6:42pm
Great work on this mod. I use it on every play through i do anymore.
Albee12  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 4:05pm
I appreciate the feedback, and to everyone who uses this thank you for the continued support! I only have a few mods on the Steam Workshop so it's nice to know that they have found use among the community.
StarDruid 2 Mar, 2019 @ 1:51pm
k cool thanks for the update, made my own private one before I even started playing after the patch but nice have one I can point out to friends if they ask.
Albee12  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 11:02am
Thank you, I actually just copied and modified the current definitions for them since it seems there's a lot of extra things in there than before. Already pushed the update, so let me know how it works. The 1x1 batteries should also be covered now.
StarDruid 2 Mar, 2019 @ 5:05am
I'll just start a discussion and put it there.
StarDruid 2 Mar, 2019 @ 5:04am
Sorry was collapsed final before seeing you message, was my day off and work graves so spent to much time play SE lol. Was looking at the xml code and only the large battery changed, and only power cell, they went down to 80 powercells. Then they added the new 1x1 small battery. Was going to post the whole section for it but comments have a 1000 character limit.
Albee12  [author] 1 Mar, 2019 @ 2:56pm
@StarDruid Apologies for the late reply. If the component costs have changed could you please list them for me? I’ll see if I can update the relevant files.
StarDruid 28 Feb, 2019 @ 11:34pm
@commander star, fairly sure it would work, but batteries have whole new component costs, and a new 1x1 small ship version. If the mod does work with the current game you're paying 50% more for batteries power cell wise. I've already made my own personal mod that based of the current version but easier to point to specific mod on the workshop for any friends that might get interested in the game, since most my mod won't work in multiplayer without uploading it.

Albee12's mod has been out since Oct 24, 2015, not going to put another mod on the workshop when an long exsisting mod that just needs a minor update does already.
Commander Star 28 Feb, 2019 @ 11:07am
@StarDruid if it is not working, unsubscribe it, reload Space Engineers, then subscribe to it. See if that works.
StarDruid 28 Feb, 2019 @ 10:28am
Albee12, not sure how busy you are but are you planning to update this for the latest update? I'm test my own mod for my personal use but that not much use for multiplayer. If you don't have the spare time then I can try my hand at uploading a mod for once if i can get mine working
[C|⦿] Typical Lama [✚] 27 Dec, 2018 @ 6:46am
thx mate.
Albee12  [author] 15 Sep, 2018 @ 9:29am
@Commander Star thanks for checking, that’s probably the case then!
Commander Star 14 Sep, 2018 @ 4:25pm
@Albee12 It still works for me, just checked on a completely empty world with no other mods. :slimehappy: I have a feeling @BIGnP might have a mod conflicting. :slimescared:
Albee12  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 2:40pm
@BIGnP sorry to hear that, are you perhaps using another mod that changes vanilla batteries? Also could anyone else confirm or deny if there are issues? If it’s not a localized problem I can take a look and see if there’s something fishy going on.
BIGnP 14 Sep, 2018 @ 12:25pm
dosent seem to be working anymore :(
Commander Star 17 Aug, 2018 @ 11:11am
So you know, this also works for Azimuth Batteries.
neotheshitman 25 Jul, 2018 @ 4:02pm
dude :ghlol: i hate scrapmetal makes no sense and is a pain in the behind thx for this
stich83guy 8 Dec, 2017 @ 4:45am
@miku567 ya let u know u can bild alot of them to have a charge and have a program block to have them discharge to other cells and then whent here about to die. program block turns on the others and the ginds down and then rebild to get new power over and over thats y.. now u see y they did it that way
miku567 8 Dec, 2017 @ 1:23am
Thank you for this mod. I was looking for something that allows you to grind power cells again (because disassembling battery shouldn't causse component lost) while keeping the initial charge.
stich83guy 23 Nov, 2016 @ 7:05pm
oh ok i dont know but its all good
Albee12  [author] 23 Nov, 2016 @ 11:41am
@reaperkiller It's the mod, the author must have made it that way to start with.
stich83guy 23 Nov, 2016 @ 11:25am
yes it does i get the cells back and all i dont know if its just the mod that does it but i get it back but no precharge
