I have just updated the Elementals to 1.2 after many hours of work on parts, and a good few more hours to design a couple new Fire Elementals.

Elementals 1.2: The Living Superweapons

-Balances

-A couple ship/station removals

-Many new hull parts and their variants

-New weapons, shields, generators, thrusters

-A healing beam

-A few new ships

-Plantable, premade structures

-Blocks you can move through

Given the vast additions and changes, I expect there to be some responses from my beloved subscribers, whom I shall listen to whether it is positive or negative.

I also ask that you provide feedback:
Is there something that bugs you about this mod?
Should I add some larger creations?
Are they already too large?
What parts are most broken, be they too strong or weak?
Would you like to see Aether treated the same as the other four Elements?
Are their any other random suggestions you may have?

Lastly, I thank you all for subscribing to my brain-child, and your input.

To those who enjoy this mod, I have created a group dedicated to it, primarily for discussion oriented around it. Also, I really made some big additions to Reassembly since the last update, but due to college, I've been sitting on them for a while now. Some cosmetic, some for more building block variety, and certain others for just outright annihilation of anything not Elemental,... within reason of course.

After about 2 hours of playing here is my review. First the air blocks (I think) Are very light and fun to use. Some cannons where very good vs the reds. Though the enemys with shields i could not defeat quickly. The cannon i used the most was the sublightspeed cannon. It was very bad vs shields but it could tear an reds apart! The anti shield lazer weapon was not working for me... (No idea why because it did not kill the sheild quickly at all) But i found other weapons that can destroy shields. I could only use the air blocks (The very light white ones) due to the mass of the other ones being very high. This made turning insainly hard (Or it's just me because i love fast ships :b) Overall this was a very fun mod to use and I would most likely play it again :D Great job and keep up the good work! :steamhappy:

@gMaImNeDs ok, thanks!

Definitely, but I'll primarily focus on releasing to the biggest audience first, then the one with more convoluted delivery methods.

I've been working on the Elementals again recently, adding in block types/variations and setting a few to environmental, plus adding some new interesting blocks with a rare function. I've increased their region size and fleet variation to where now there will be far more Elemental titans visible, including some hardly seen before.

Oh, and with how people can't seem to stop treating their CVARS file as if it's magically some piece of putty that can stretch infinitely or some other malarky to where their game seems to bug out a lot more, Elementals will be switching to unlocked by default.

Here's a few things already added:
Smaller, easier to access Earth parts
Sand variations
Abnormal utilities
Plantable Earth tower
Healing beam

I have college work to catch up with however, so don't expect it at a set date.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 21 Jul, 2016 @ 6:43pm
Occasionally certain aspects of the game are thrown out of whack by other aspects being put to extremes though the CVARS file. An overly modified CVARS through one's own input or a mod(s) can result in,... funny business.
Aktama 21 Jul, 2016 @ 8:27am
Ok, so ive killed the 2000 p fire ship (monstrosity) after 30 mins of searching the corners with my giant ramming ship, and i have yet to unlock the elementals, is there any way to cheat unlock them?
gMaImNeDs  [author] 26 Feb, 2016 @ 2:36am
That I can understand. When making a new game save of Elementals, I need to start from scratch, which may cause me to take a while before reaching only a portion of the elemental proficiency. I'll have to add some lower and mid P equipment to the list, since Wind has most of the easily obtained parts due to it being the first element I really made most ships for.

Usually when I add equipment, I try and give them a unique use that stands out from all the other weapons with respect to their element's characteristics, and Earth has mostly been the philosophy of how much mass one can throw around like a buffet-emptying politician swinging his ego about like a wrecking ball. I'll plan on making some smaller tappers for until one can afford the hard hitters.
onos_devour 26 Feb, 2016 @ 1:35am
After thinking about it, I feel like it's already set up that way a bit. I'm not sure exactly what I had in mind, but perhaps something like a generator that's also a weapon for mid-game... that way it can have a lower cost than the 6000c~8000c range. The way it is now, it's hard to get rock going at the beginning of the game, for example, due to high generator cost and weapons cost. So even if you wanted to play full rock, you're stuck with having to attack factions that are shieldless (more or less anyways). Not really a big deal at all though, I mean once you unlock everything you can theorycraft at a later point, but for some of the elements other than air there's a long road before you actually unlock their 'tech' so to speak.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 25 Feb, 2016 @ 11:50pm
I'm glad you enjoy the mod, and even showed up for its beginnings! As for the idea, I'm not sure what you mean by the forced P cost.
onos_devour 25 Feb, 2016 @ 7:40am
Cool mod. I was on the twitch stream when you were creating the planetoid, so it was neat to see it in-game. Fufilled a lifelong desire to be an amorphous cloud of death. Something felt off about this mod and I can't quite place it.. I think for certain elements it would've been interesting to see blocks that gave you the piece you wanted but at a forced P cost, due to it being a weapon or something. Anyways, rated up+

want you be god ship press \ to create Editor mode:steamhappy:
gMaImNeDs  [author] 22 Feb, 2016 @ 3:32pm
Also, I keep up with the comments due to the easy system of Steam notifications, even if I don't reply all that often. I'd also be working on the mod a bit more, but good heavens is the college class that prepares you for the A+ CompTIA 220-801+802 a doozy. I recommend you never go above 10 credit hours at once when taking this monstrous course. It and Anatomy'n'Physiology are extensive courses.

Planned for the future: Plant growing block capabilities for some Earth blocks and Water's sand, Quetzalcoatl, a new Wind monstrosity, and perhaps some new Aether blocks.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 22 Feb, 2016 @ 3:19pm
I play with very few mods that alter the game, and prettymuch no mods that alter the game in a major way, so I have little to no problems of the nature that others do. Sorry if I can't help more with the major problems that others are having, but it's hard for me to advise others on something I've most likely never experienced myself.

I can say though: wierd stuff happens when you play god with the console variable(cvar) file. Wierd, wierd stuff.

I'm glad you like the ship designs, I worked multiple hours straight on a few. Unfortunately I think it's only on newer games. Regardless, I'm still keeping up with the mod and adding in new ships/parts occasionally, and maybe updatng an older ship.
Wilson 2 Jan, 2016 @ 11:12am
Can i only encounter the elementals in a new game with the mod activated or can I also just activate the mod and find them in old games? Until now I only found them in a new game. The enemy I encountered was really nice , really looking forward seeing all of the ships !!
gMaImNeDs  [author] 31 Dec, 2015 @ 8:01pm
Nature. Sounds like something great to bunch up with Earth. I typically keep it to the five elements since they're easily generalized.

I'll be sure to add plant-bearing blocks, and perhaps some growable structures to place on asteroids.

I already had an idea for another faction however that is based around ships that have above average speed and are relatively weak, but easily spread by creating new ships like from one of GATC's mods, except they also go abit further by placing ship generating structures on asteroids, and using certain asteroid-based structures to help decide battles. Basically spreading like the plants and using mob mentality to swarm opposing ships.

That, and some other 'faction' I'm planning, but Halloween's passed quite a while ago, and I'm not sure what imagery I could get away with.
Mett 31 Dec, 2015 @ 1:00pm
Plant growing blocks would be very interesting. It would be even more interesting to have the plants grow small amounts of guns that do little (tiny pin-missiles) to moderate (Giant explosive pinecones) damage...even more, would be if the plants could create their own ships and detach from your growing blocks to fly around and fight.

Maybe a new element of Nature with it's own plant generating guns and blocks? It'd be interesting to see a gun shoot a bullet that grows into a plant that shoots more bullets.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 27 Dec, 2015 @ 11:35am
The plant growing blocks were an idea already planned for moss and crust from Earth, but that just shows that people have interest in it. I'll have to see about implementing that for sand blocks from Water as well. That, and more sand blocks.

Now updated to version 1.1, the Relentless Tide update.
Scarf Dragon 25 Dec, 2015 @ 1:57pm
Is the water thruster update here? =D Toooooo happy to finally be able to build a working water ship! Also you could make water seaweed blocks or a sea bed block that allows you to grow things. Just ideas. =3
Mett 22 Dec, 2015 @ 10:11am
I shot at the joke shield.

I had to run from a Fire Demigod that came out of nowhere o3o'
gMaImNeDs  [author] 21 Dec, 2015 @ 9:15pm
Going to give Water, that which provides vast, expansive oceans to us, the large respect its element echoes for across its immaculate waters. Basically I'm giving their blocks more size variations to choose from, which is to be a while given their gargantuan shape palette.

More blocks sizes. Boring part of the parts creation job, but as easy as copy-paste&tiny-tweak.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 21 Dec, 2015 @ 3:56pm
Also, more info on the joke shield if I can figure out how to make it just right, due to the player's reliance on sight rather than background coding like the computer driven factions, the player will actually find it more difficult to fight enemies when they have enough of the joke shield due to how ships could easily be hidden amongst the powerful, plentiful overlapping shield particle effects, preventing visibility around the shielded ship. What could be behind the mist? Nothing? A couple fighters? Multiple capital ships? Who's to say? Just attack it and find out the hard way!:steamhappy:
gMaImNeDs  [author] 21 Dec, 2015 @ 3:56pm
Already on it, I've planned for there to be two Water thrusters, there are already two shields and a joke shield(huge radius but no health), not to mention some other elemental items like a second Wind shield for a larger Wind elemental set to represent Wind, named "Xolotl" after the Aztec diety of lightning and death, twin of Quetzalquotl, another Wind elemental I plan to construct.
Perhaps maybe even a Water generator that emphasizes minimal collateral damage upon destruction, and the Water way of fast regeneration. Maybe I'll even make a multiple screen-sized, multiple element monstrosity themed after Mother Coatlicue, Aztec deity of creation.
Scarf Dragon 21 Dec, 2015 @ 3:27pm
Great mod! I love fighting the Fire demigods! But... The water element needs thrusters. O_o *Insert picture of enourmous water element ship moving a centimeter per minute*
Mett 13 Dec, 2015 @ 8:45pm
@gMalmNeDs As long as it doesn't rape my framerate but makes me afraid to go anywhere near the corners of the universe with a modded faction, I'm up for it. The :steamsalty: is going to be so real e-e
LichPotato 10 Dec, 2015 @ 11:18pm
The way I destroyed it was with a P-generating ship that spawned massive numbers of small ships, each of which spawned swarmes of drones. It took me around an hour of whittling down its shields and armor, but it worked. When dealing with the Earth Temple, drones are your friend.
Picten 10 Dec, 2015 @ 9:44pm
Isn't the "Earth Temple" ship a little too strong? i have been trying to defeat it for days, and it has repelled a total of 500,000P worth of the ships i built. the best i could do with all those ships were to barely destroy half of the generators.
gMaImNeDs  [author] 8 Dec, 2015 @ 2:38pm
Very well, new, huge air elemental it is, gonna be interesting making that one.
LichPotato 8 Dec, 2015 @ 2:15pm
I think a sort of "ether cyclone" would be great! The air elemental designs are a little lacking, in my opinion.
