Dude, you NEED to increase the angle on the angled panel. Way too shallow and it took me so many tries I was sure I was off track.

Had the puzzle logic figured out but after the third time of just missing the landing on the fling I just noclipped it.:steamsad:

:theta:ne more great and short test! Enjoyed but final jump took about twenty attempts. Thumbs up! :steamhappy:

I like the series, but I also have to critisize that hard to execute jump :-(

Yea ik

I don't like to criticize stuff people did for free but too hard to make the jump and then you have to do it again.
tu7650x 26 Aug, 2016 @ 4:58pm
The first fling using the timed angled panel is so borderline momentum wise that it took several attempts before I made it... This IMHO is not good design... difficulty should reside in solutions difficult to figure out, complex sequence of operations to perform... not in making jumps difficult because the player has barely enough momentum to make it to the exit side.

I dont know how I feel about this series, yes, the solutions are quite simple, but the executions of those solutions are horribly hard, which leaves you frustrated.

So far, the puzzles (and even the looks for the most part) have been great throughout the series. Little things you can do for improvement:

> Check the lighting. It felt off in places. Maybe using some info_lighting entities might help. If you're using a light_environment, check the Pitch and Ambient keyvalues (Pitch should be somewhere around -90 and Ambient should be around 300+ for intensity).
> Add a soundscape. Try some of the Testchamber_Destruction.Intro_* sounscapes.

Let's hope you've become a better mapper by the time I have posted this comment, and that if you have, you could look back on these maps with a little laugh :p2aperture:
Jaskador TTV 5 Apr, 2016 @ 9:41pm
That jump is purely based on RNG to decided if you're gonna land or not, really annoying to have to retry 20 times in order to make it. This should be fixed so the jump always works. I mean, it doesn't "nerf" the overall understanding of the puzzle, beacuse this is just more frustrating than anything else. Other than that, puzzle is cool. Great work.
BlumCoLe' 1 Apr, 2016 @ 2:35am
Hey there,

I promised to make a comment for each map ...so here it is.

It's not my intention to vote down or up only, it's more important to increase your understanding to make a better map.
I want to give you feedback to your map. What is good and was not?
Maybe a way to make it better, if I have an idea. :)

Just for the sake of completeness, the gameplay again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpmFDVp3EOg

The facts:
*puzzle was good, but I didn't like the ninja part ...it was very annoying (especially with one cube) that the time was so short, you can see how often I failed ^^

That's all. :P

I hope you accept my critique and ...maybe your map will get an update or you adapt what you have learned to your next map?! ;)

Keep it up!

Nice visuals, good puzzle. I suggest making the timer one second longer, as it can be difficult and frustrating when attempting to get the first cube across.

If you get on the highest platform, put a portal behind you, jump through the portal on the ground with the cube, and then jump as soon as you land, you can make it to the platform without doing the puzzle. Other than that exploit, amazing map! Looks Fantastic! :)

As cool as others map of the serie ! The mapping work is awesome !
But: Cubes should be differents (clean and rusty), map is too dark (more lights or env_ambient light) and the timer is too short (+3s). Good job, continue !

Lighten it up a little? Could hardly see it. Nice puzzle though, and after adjusting my monitor brightness I really liked the visuals :)
Stimich 21 Nov, 2015 @ 1:09pm
Visually it's nice. Way too dark for my liking, though. Gameplay-wise it's nothing new and you can get stuck. It's also possible to skip most of the chamber. You gotta playtest your maps.

Great visual atmosphere - maybe even too overgrown? Puzzle was quite easy to see the solution, but technically a little difficult to execute the cube fling and jump...Still well done thanks for creating.

Weren't your previous Salvation tests more creative, longer and, well, cleverer? I wasn't expecting something so basic and simple.
Nah, who cares, I think this part 4 is visually the best one. Good job!
DeathWish808 21 Nov, 2015 @ 11:09am
Definitely packed that little chamber full of visuals. I liked it. The puzzle was simple, but still a cool map. Great job!

I really like this map comparing to the others, you've gotten way better Redstoncraft.
Just a few things to notice: (correct me if I am wrong)
1. Lack of env_soundscape.
2.Holy Jesus Christ there is a shitload of details it is making me confused please remove some.
3. some of the floor destruction props are floating.

Other than that the map is solid, fun, fantisticly designed. Thumbs up!
