could you update the mod?
Elzephor  [author] 16 Jan, 2016 @ 6:50pm
@The Trumpenator

Should work, yea.

@Death

Not really, unfortunately. With the way paradox has set things up, it's either all jungle or all desert. Of the two, jungles are much better to have.
The Phallus of Malice 16 Jan, 2016 @ 6:43pm
Can this work with the Extended Timeline Mod?
NPC 16 Jan, 2016 @ 1:03pm
I keep getting all jungle is there a way around that?
bocagol812 6 Jan, 2016 @ 11:08am
@Elzephor

I was in the "all mods" section, but they weren't there. I went to maps and they weren't either, but they were in gameplay and trade, so I'm sure it should work now. Thanks for the response and for the mods, I'm really looking forward to trying them out.

@bocagol812

If you have subscribed to it on the workshop, look under the "Map" tab of the mod screen of the EU4 startup menu. As for the download link, I assume you mean you don't have permission to view the thread containing the download. Have you registered with the paradox forums? The thread won't be visible to you unless you have.
bocagol812 5 Jan, 2016 @ 7:58pm
Do you know any reason your mods wouldn't show up even after I've subscribed? I tried the direct download link, but it says I don't have permission to view it,
Clayworks 29 Dec, 2015 @ 3:09pm
I took off the mod and started a new game and it didnt happen but I think it might have just been a one time thing
Elzephor  [author] 27 Dec, 2015 @ 7:47pm
@ Clayworks
Does it only happen when the mod is active?
Clayworks 27 Dec, 2015 @ 4:47pm
I had the same problem as Neeneroid
Elzephor  [author] 21 Dec, 2015 @ 12:42pm
@Imperarator18 Same deserts and everything? Some screenshots would be appreciated.
Cesarito 21 Dec, 2015 @ 2:51am
wtf I had exactly the same new world
Elzephor  [author] 20 Dec, 2015 @ 10:04am
@xxXClintYeastwoodXxx The forums are known to be a bit glitchy. If you've followed all the steps and it still doesn't work the way it should, that's an issue for their tech support.
EagerlyPickle4456 20 Dec, 2015 @ 9:04am
Still won't work
EagerlyPickle4456 20 Dec, 2015 @ 9:04am
I did both of those things
Elzephor  [author] 19 Dec, 2015 @ 5:47pm
@xxXClintYeastwoodXxx Melancholia is correct. You need to create a forum account and register your game in order to access the forums.

the link onto the forum says i dont have permission to view it, halp
Elzephor  [author] 19 Dec, 2015 @ 1:15pm
@Neeneroid I think you're correct that this is a bug caused by the game mistaking a land province for a sea one. I don't see how my mods would cause that to happen, but if they are then obviously it's a big problem. Please test to see if the problem persists in vanilla. If my mods are the common denominator, then I need to know.
Neeneroid 19 Dec, 2015 @ 1:09pm
I disabled everything else except your 3 mods. It doesn't happen every time but often you get coastal waters being colonizable or ghost islands in the middle of nowhere. One of the islands in the last game even had a region that was split into two physical regions. I guess they shared the same name and ID.

Kinda strange, I'll have to troubleshoot. I've installed and uninstalled so many mods that it might be that I have to reinstall the game and the DLCs, if no one else gets these bugged regions.
Elzephor  [author] 19 Dec, 2015 @ 12:19pm
@Neeneroid Wow, that's really weird. Does it only happen when the mod is active?
Neeneroid 19 Dec, 2015 @ 11:08am
Something's a little wonky in how RNW generates the random New World. I think these regions are supposed to be ocean, not land. Now you have patches of colonizable ocean with trees growing out of them.

wet and hot lmao thats how i like it
Electra 18 Dec, 2015 @ 2:25pm
I didn't much like the desert mode, but the spice must flow.
Pfannkuchenstruggler 17 Dec, 2015 @ 8:14am
Great mod, hated the desert simulator!
Elzephor  [author] 17 Dec, 2015 @ 8:05am
@Matix522 (et al) No, re-rolling would be way too tedious. I created a small mod for myself that makes this the only possible tile. It's the biggest tile, so it's the best for testing things.
Vino 17 Dec, 2015 @ 6:53am
@HögmodsKaptenen The world has different "tiles" that can be chosen and arranged in a different way, but the tiles themselves aren't random (although there are +100 of them) but handcrafted. You can even mod more if you want it.
Matix522 17 Dec, 2015 @ 6:44am
@Elzephor for generating this images above, you reroll RNW until you get thic continents, or you use a mod with only one title?
HögmodsKaptenen 17 Dec, 2015 @ 5:11am
what the heck the world on the description picture is the same as mine (I've got a whole lot of desert on mine though)... I thought the RNWs were randomly generated? Or does that mean something completely different?
Chr!570ph3r 17 Dec, 2015 @ 1:13am

@Etzephor

Amusingly I was just thinking about the marshes taking over the riverlands completely, nice to know you got a handle on things that extends to preempting my comments. Are you going to stay in my brain any longer? Because im not sure you'd be sane if you did. And no this comment is in no way sarcastic just trying to be humorous xD
Elzephor  [author] 16 Dec, 2015 @ 4:48pm
Version 1.1 has been released. Please let me know if you notice any weirdness when loading savegames made before the update.
Elzephor  [author] 16 Dec, 2015 @ 3:27pm
@Matix522 @A Puddle

I've been working on an update that would make things less marshy. I have it ready, but I've been holding off on releasing it because I was not 100% happy with it. However if demand for it is so strong that people want to change the mod themselves, I feel compelled to respond. So I'll be uploading the new version soon (expect it in the next couple hours).
A Puddle 16 Dec, 2015 @ 2:54pm
@Matix522 any chance you could tell me where to swap out the mod's code for your's?
Matix522 16 Dec, 2015 @ 1:11pm
But it of course generate more desert than in your settings
Matix522 16 Dec, 2015 @ 1:09pm
Hi, This mod is very good but there was too much marshes
So I traied some settings and this works good
It generete a lot of grassland and a few marches and deserts
moisture = {
downsample = 8,
sea_add = 10,
start_moisture = 10,
min_promille = 25,
cloud_max_height = 90,
height_promille = 750,
},
If you this changes are fine to you, please update this mod
Razmataz 16 Dec, 2015 @ 4:01am
@Etzephor

Oh my god you did it! Amazing stuff here. Thank you so much for this =D
cslider 15 Dec, 2015 @ 2:59pm
Uh, some of us have a strange bug with the libary files, and cannot use subscribed mods. Can ya please post a manual link?
Bias Galtar 15 Dec, 2015 @ 9:26am
Thanks, your mods have made the new RNWs playable
Elzephor  [author] 14 Dec, 2015 @ 10:45pm
@bob9502 Sorry, but I haven't been able to find how the generator decides development.
Ryzen 14 Dec, 2015 @ 10:24pm
While you were tweaking the file, did you notice where we can change the developement value of the generated province?
RNW seem to use ID province, but i doesn't found them anywhere :(
Elzephor  [author] 14 Dec, 2015 @ 9:29pm
@Opera It's true what you are saying about the West coast of landmasses. But the generator doesn't account for that sort of thing. Look at the "before" shot - it paints deserts right across continents, which isn't realistic either, since by your example it wouldn't take into account that West coasts are often humid.

I hear what you are saying about the small deserts though. I'm in the process of tweaking the settings so that the deserts are bigger and the marshes are smaller. As for trade goods, i do want to mod them, but I'm still figuring out how best to do it.
Lady Magpie 14 Dec, 2015 @ 4:25pm
The main difference between the Sahara and the Caribbean is that one is on the west coast, the other on the east coast of their landmass. Most non-inland deserts are on west coasts, around the latitude of the Sahara, north or south.

The west coast of the Sahara isn't less dry than any other part; it can even be more so because it is more affected by the cold currents that typically follow the west coast of landmasses.

Frankly, while vanilla deserts might be a bit too big, yours are just as well exaggerated in smallness. Wouldn't a better solution be to tweak trade good generation?
menq 14 Dec, 2015 @ 3:46am
direct download link?
Stark 13 Dec, 2015 @ 2:08pm
You should make the deserts slightly Larger, considering it's Unrealistic to have the deserts where they currently are. Great Idea though, something that was much needed.
