I know that I am more than 4 years too late for a rebuttle on what Hand_Of_Glory said about the Warbows being Longbows, but Longbows can be a type of Warbow as can Recurve Shortbows. And in addition, the Longbow was adopted after the Viking Raids in the 8th and 9th centuries, but were not used by "peasants" in combat until the early 10th after the first siege of Dover had proved the value of a Longbow on the battlefield. A Warbow is any bow between 70lb and 250lb draw, whereas the Longbow has between 20lb and 250lb. Just wanted to clear up some misinformation. And to Pineapple, the mod still works great, even after all this time.

@OneEyedMorrighan'sWolf Thanks for the kind words! I haven't played Attila in in quite a while so it's good to know the mod still works well. Glad you're enjoying it.

Warbows aka Longbows came to England by way of longboats from Scandinavia as far as I can recall from the little history I have been subjected to ;)
They where then adopted and perfected in use by the lower orders of (peasants) of the British Isles over the next 1000 years until gunpowder kinda phased them out / where made illegal by the powers that be like firearms of today that are being by political means made problematic to own/use.
Thx for the mod.

@ASS | Welldone The Pussyhand I just added the unit to the other English factions last night, do you mean the Celtic and Pictish factions as well?

Could you add a name for the german language?
English archers = Englische Bogenschützen
or
English longbow archers = Englische Langbogenschützen?
Korthor 21 Dec, 2015 @ 2:45am

Pineapple  [author] 20 Dec, 2015 @ 11:50pm
@Warcommissar1 Added them to Kent, Northumbria, and Wessex. I didn't have time to fully test them so let me know if you have any problems.

Why would Mercia have better longbowmen than the Welsh?

And English longbowmen didn't come for quite a while after the start date of the game.

Like at least 400 years.
