Good job, bud. You keep the dream alive.
Stubkan 16 Nov, 2022 @ 9:46pm
All right, I have made a mod fork here - https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2889607998

I've made sure you have full credit. I'll keep it maintained. I hope you don't mind.

We're approaching nearly 7 years since the last update. I am this close from just deleting these mods.
Stubkan 16 Nov, 2022 @ 12:20am
Hi, regarding the airtightedness issue... It can be solved by adding this tag to each block definition, I place it above the </Definition> ending for each.

<IsAirTight>true</IsAirTight>

If the Author wishes to update his mod, that'll fix the longstanding airtightness issue. Otherwise I will make a fixed version myself.
Ced23Ric  [author] 15 Oct, 2020 @ 1:05am
I am sure there are still some active modders who made those. We, on the other hand, left Space Engineers modding in 2016.
Solraven 14 Oct, 2020 @ 2:28am
any chance for some half thick blocks?
Siro 29 Jun, 2020 @ 4:02am
Okay so other than some texture weirdness, seems to work fine and does hold air.

There is, however, a problem with grids in the game containing large amounts of individual blocks that can cause problems with not just airtightedness but also cause issues with refineries and assemblers not pulling in items. I expect that if someone is having issues with this mod with respect to either of those, it's because of it being a mega-build (which is why people come looking for this mod in the first place). I used this mod to successfully redo a base, restoring airtightedness and conveyor functionality to a large base.
Siro 28 Jun, 2020 @ 3:28pm
Was building a thing. My refineries and assemblers just gave up pulling things. Now nothing will pressurize. Realized I was destroying the entire game trying to build a big thing. Came looking for exactly this mod. Seeing that it doesn't work. *Anakin/Vader Nooooooo noises*

Last I checked, these blocks could NOT hold air.
KPD 8 Jul, 2018 @ 5:19pm
Please whenever you feel it right update this, its such an amazing mod and i want to use it more than anything to keep block count low.
thanks

I'll scope arround and see if I can find somebody.
ARAURA 10 Jul, 2017 @ 8:39am
Has anyone shown interest in picking this mod up and maintaining it? Not that I can mod, I can't, but just curious.
Greyson XMG 18 Apr, 2016 @ 2:39am
Notice: Mod broken.

When you try to weld a projection (with compound blocks) you get a picasso.
All the blocks weld in in the wrong positions, resulting in a mess.
Greyson XMG 7 Apr, 2016 @ 11:38am
Such a pity. This is one of the more useful mods.
Ced23Ric  [author] 7 Apr, 2016 @ 7:08am
For those who missed my entry at the top of the description:

I am no longer working on anything Space Engineers related, ad haven't been since the beginning of this year. That'll be a negative for any and all support inquiries. Space Engineers has treated my buddies and me poorly, and thusly, is no longer holding my interest in either playing or modding.
Greyson XMG 6 Apr, 2016 @ 1:10pm
I have been working with these for a while, and many of these blocks have a LOT of trouble holding air.

I am not sure how that works, but could you check on this?
Crimson Revenant 3 Apr, 2016 @ 2:50am
I've tested this mod and the other one like it on the workship, equal amount of triangles to a structure made of normal blocks. I'm confused as to how this actually works, because you make it sound like you're reducing the numbers, but this is just making giant block chunks for ease of building but not reducing lag.
Darkaiser 4 Feb, 2016 @ 9:22am
Will have to try these out on my Battlecruiser. I'll let you know how that goes.
Ced23Ric  [author] 31 Jan, 2016 @ 9:52am
Jesus Christ, how horrifying. In that case, my bad - apparently Keen tiles the plate models their cubes consist of.
2crashandburn 31 Jan, 2016 @ 6:41am
You sure about those 12 triangles per block? Cause I just did a little test and the 5x1x1 and 20x10x1 block had the same amount of triangles as a similar setup with single vanilla blocks.
Ced23Ric  [author] 29 Jan, 2016 @ 1:31am
Has nothing to do with sim speed (that is gamelogic calculations), but a lot with frame rate. And yeah, it is only 12 triangles per block. That's a lot less tris overall.
Subway 28 Jan, 2016 @ 7:25pm
Is this more efficient polygon-wise and less resource heavy for better sim speed and frame rate?
Ced23Ric  [author] 22 Jan, 2016 @ 9:20am
They are.
Drayst 22 Jan, 2016 @ 7:09am
But the construction models are not part of the SDK, if I'm right. That's why I am asking...
Ced23Ric  [author] 22 Jan, 2016 @ 6:32am
Drayst: Those are just Keen's models. Feel free to use their assets from the SDK as you see fit.
Drayst 22 Jan, 2016 @ 5:24am
Hey Ced23Ric, would you allow me to use some of your construction models for my own mod? Would greatly appreciate it and give credit to you of course.

Regards
drayst

i would honestly do it myself if i was able to but im barely even starting to just read up on modding personally and havent even gotten into it just yet. downloaded and installed some of the required software but need to get a few more things before im even ready. basically what im saying is im a total noobtard at modding SE and would probably totally butcher it. lol
Xenoxanatos 14 Jan, 2016 @ 8:17am
i know this really isnt the place but i am a fan of your guys work and love this mod. i have a personal request since you guys sometimes bring old mods back to life and or fix/update as well as DX11 the oldies. i think a bunch of other people will agree as well. could you please take a look at the large parts torpedo mod and see if it is salvageable. i think that would be a great current addition to those of us that like to make custom weapons imho. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=381176722&searchtext=torpedo
Greyson XMG 8 Jan, 2016 @ 9:00pm
Update on the problems I have been having.

It seems that the 'air tight' problems occour when there is a door halfway across a 5X5 block and your trying to create a barrier halfway across it.

Also problems when you have a 5X1, using its tip as part of a wall. Goes for other sizes.

STILL a fantasic mod, I just hope the air thing is fixable.
Ced23Ric  [author] 8 Jan, 2016 @ 10:23am
Dragon: I'll check the costs again.
Greyon: I'll check if I can jury-rig this with a flat airtightness modifier.
Dragon Fire 813 8 Jan, 2016 @ 8:36am
I also like your mod because it solves problem almost everybody has when building on planets or asteroids, and that is how much of a block you can bury in rock or ore (pun intended). It seem to change every update. One update you can leave less than a fourth out of the ground, then the next almost the whole block has to be exposed. What I'm saying is don't change the ground colision, because I don't want to dig a deep hole to make nice looking support colum.
Dragon Fire 813 8 Jan, 2016 @ 8:09am
As far as I know It only happens with the heavy armor 20x5x1. I discovered this when I went to replace part of my 30x7x1 drone landing pad. I grinded the all the blocks that made up the dimensions of that block dropping the grids and plates on the ground off to the side when my inventory was full (this is the only reason I noticed this). Then I placed your block and built it up using the stacks on the ground, thats when I noticed I had a few stacks left over, maybe a tenth of the components (not sure about it though).
Greyson XMG 7 Jan, 2016 @ 12:32pm
I had that 5X5 with a door half way across it.. I am not sure why that bugged it up.
Greyson XMG 7 Jan, 2016 @ 12:30pm
I just confirmed it... I had a room that I could not get to pressurize with a 5X5 light armor. Replaced it with 5 5X1 and suddenly the room filled with air.
Ced23Ric  [author] 7 Jan, 2016 @ 12:26pm
Greyson: Should not. Is this a trick question? Do tey not hold air, then please tell me. Do they hold air, then I guess they do. They should be airtight. If they are not, I need to fix it. Please be precise. :)

Mhmm. Are the upper blocks not properly calculated, Dragon? Because, I based it of the cost of a single block of whatever type, and multiplied it. If I made any mistakes there, please tell me.
Greyson XMG 7 Jan, 2016 @ 12:13pm
Quick question: Is there any issues with these blocks holding pressure?
Dragon Fire 813 7 Jan, 2016 @ 8:32am
I realy like this mod. It saves time, block count, (and for the 20 x 5 x1 and up) components.
Dragon Fire 813 7 Jan, 2016 @ 8:29am
And I'm not gona change to light for that spot because thats where I place all my stolen drones:)
Dragon Fire 813 7 Jan, 2016 @ 8:26am
Ok, I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. I'll still use them (altough the heavy armor textures
are gona bug me, since I can se the camo from far away). If you find a solution I would be happy.
Ced23Ric  [author] 6 Jan, 2016 @ 4:32pm
DragonFire: See, it worked out/works out on some blocks and doesn't on others. It seems to follow no real pattern. It is set to behave properly, but it does not. I am unsure how to handle it.
Dragon Fire 813 6 Jan, 2016 @ 12:00pm
Has anyone else noticed that the armor textures are all mixed up, or is it just me?
SciDerg 5 Jan, 2016 @ 5:39am
Don't beat yourself up about it, it just shows you're human like the rest of us.
The important thing is that they're fixed. Thanks for keeping on top of that, and thanks for being open to the idea of 2x and 4x block variants, too. Those should help me out a bunch, especially the 2x blocks when I'm using armor slopes.
Ced23Ric  [author] 5 Jan, 2016 @ 1:29am
Okay, so that is fixed now.

Jesus. I must've been tired or something. It seems like I ... rounded at some point.
Malganor 4 Jan, 2016 @ 9:46pm
Thanks for the fix!
Ced23Ric  [author] 4 Jan, 2016 @ 6:36pm
Guess I typo'ed again. I will adjust that, too!
Nurgle 4 Jan, 2016 @ 4:18pm
Though the weight/cost values are more appropriate for smallships, there's still a few erroneous values.
The 5x5x1 light armor slab (small grid, 25 blocks) has the cost and weight of 23 light armor blocks (unless this is intentional, to encourage performance friendly building?)
5x1x1 light armor on smallship has the cost and weight of 25 blocks.
Are these errors just due to keencode?
Ced23Ric  [author] 4 Jan, 2016 @ 1:09pm
Fixed!
