cool! I also build different mechanisms, but steam only downloaded one

I just noticed I already knew your channel :P
Keep up the good work!

I tested your machine, and I think the only thing that you could improve is to make it throw the bomb a little furhter at least.

Your machine is very good and you are a talented creator. I will check your youtube channel now :)

I know, there are better ways to do a lot of the things in this design. This is one of my first machines that I made ages ago, and I posted it to go along with my video in which I test it in the newer zones. I talk about some of the machine's design faults and quirks in the video.

By the way, strangely, the steering method I prefer now isn't in either of those videos. Here's a video explaining the steering that I find to be the most efficient:

Its good but honestly steering hinges are the worst steering IN THE ENTIRE GAME!

Good video. I would just suggest soft music in background.

I set up a beam of wood to pivot on a hinge. I attached springs to the front of the beam and to a lower point, so they pull the front of the beam down, and raise the back where the bomb is.

The relative distances between the hinge, the bomb, and the spring attachment points, are important. The springs are attached close to the hinge, and the bomb is farther from the hinge, so the bomb end goes faster than the spring end.

You can make a more compact catapult using a steering hinge or two in sequence, with their speeds set to the max. Attach the steering hinges to the machine and put a grabber and a bomb on the end. It can help to add a block or two to the end of the last steering hinge before adding the grabber and bomb.

To use that catapult, move the steering hinges forward and release the grabber at the right time. It takes practice. If the catapult is mobile, you can move it forward while launching for more distance.

A video of the latter catapult:

I am trying to understand how you built the catapult. Any help?

Nice machine, congratulation!

And I'm here, hoping that someone subscribes to my beginner creations... lol
Amazing machine!

even though this machine doesnt have thebest steering machanism (because its the stock turnpad things) it certainly does do what the machine is clearly intended for. even though its not the smallest of builds it still gets the job done!

The funny thing is, I still aimed to build small, even then.

Since friction was really low before the Unity 5 update, I determined that I needed 4-wheel steering. I wanted to use the big, cool-looking wheels, and have enough clearance to steer them close to 90 degrees without them breaking. So, given those criteria, this is about as small as I could make the machine's footprint.

The only type of catapult I knew how to build at the time took up pretty much space, too. Plus, I wasn't aiming for a low block count, so I also slapped on weapons and armor wherever they'd fit.

So in a way, this machine is big in the same way an early 90's cell phone is big; I just didn't know how to make it compact yet. But on the bright side, this thing does look pretty badass, if I do say so myself. >:D

Nice machine (for a starter machine :P). I'm actually quite surprised that your first machine is this big, since I started with small cars that look more like your later creations.
