You're thinking of the mod Relative Top Speed.
:(
Its no longer Supported and it has known issues that are game breaking
SO DONT USE IT
there are alternatives like Configurable Parameters
It's an AI block functionality now. nothing to do with this mod.
Still allows greater than 100m/s.
If you don't need RC or autopilot, you could technically still use this.
you should look for alternative mods. i recommend you Configurable Parameters
Back in the day, player speed used to be separate, and a bit lower, than the max grid speed.
This led to you instantly being splattered against the inside of a ship the moment you hop out, or it being literally impossible to catch up to a ship if you accidentally eject.
It is MUCH better this way. If you want what I think you do, then it might work to lower the impulse of the jetpack, so it can't accelerate anywhere near as fast, rather than lowering the player's max speed.
player speed will always be 10 m/s faster than the max grid speed
if it doesnt work thern you nwould need to use an alternative.
a few posts down i did post an alternative in case this mod stops working or makes probs.
its relativly robust build, but still last update 2 years ago cause its eol (end of life) so no more updates here.
in case you are i nsearch for one beeing activly maintained i would suggest configurable parameters ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422592854 ) it has not onyl speed options but also some other stuff too, for example you can turn lightning dmg of and alter ore detector ranges.
it seams to no longer be working and because its EOL (end of life) it no longer gets updates.
i use atm configurable parameters ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422592854 ) for speed changes.
When the jetpack speed is reduced, you physically cannot catch up to a ship moving even slightly faster than the jetpack limit.
This was a cause for people to splatter on the back of ships when they exit.
It was a problem back in the earlier days of Space Engineers, and are NOT times we should return to.
If you want to do something more interesting, reduce the jetpack's thrust, so it can't ACCELERATE as fast, but you don't have the issue of splattering in a ship you just hopped out of the seat for.
Keen has made a lot of improvements to movement inside moving ships, to the point where I'm comfortable doing so regularly.
configurable parameters is basically the same just with more stuff you can configurate and change.
a wonder that it did still work before you reinstalled the server.
atm it is nearly deadly out of date and because its eol there will be no more updates for it
Anyone have anything they can recommend as a replacement?
its just a speedmod so if yo udont overdue it with the speed then it works fine, but mark that this speedmod hasnt been updated for a long time and some probs came up that also wont get fixed cause the updates where stopped as said i nthe modname mit EOL = End Of Life
EOL = End Of Life
so yea, there are no more updates to it
