Hey, just wondering if this still works before i put it together. I LOVE the idea of this in game
B1487E 1 Jan, 2020 @ 10:35am
I keep getting "Assembly Not Found! Please Compile Script" in my programmable block
CC-1995 12 Sep, 2016 @ 2:06pm
could you place one remote control block facing up to detect in the up and down direction
alex  [author] 10 Jul, 2016 @ 1:43am
@Vii Yes, but i have 3d radars and others.
VivaVii 9 Jul, 2016 @ 8:46pm
Am i correct in assuming this only works in 2d?
chillinflute 12 Feb, 2016 @ 3:19pm
Dude you have just WON Space Engineers! :O
MkThunderwd 11 Feb, 2016 @ 9:04pm
If you use 8 sensors, you might be able to set it up to show a different pixel color if targets are above or below the scanning disc. :)

@"Mycroft_Groks" Actually i'm going to put this feature in my new upcoming one, instead. It will have all the features, and all the colors, and can do all the things, and be much harder to get working and with many many more errors.
Mycroft Groks 10 Feb, 2016 @ 5:42pm
Could you add all the features from the other two versions to this? The ability to change from sensors to control blocks and the steps up and down for the rotor and range?
justin.binda 10 Feb, 2016 @ 12:23pm
Dude what can we say but Thank you Oh great sage of wisdom!!!
Tonatsi 10 Feb, 2016 @ 5:16am
um what is the difference between using sensors and remote control blocks>
Rex 10 Feb, 2016 @ 4:57am
would be nice to make missiles out of that
some missiles with sensors work but they are not the best in terms of accuracy
Laowai 10 Feb, 2016 @ 2:00am
@Jtpetch I guess the game can't handle the awesomeness of this script
Nowan 10 Feb, 2016 @ 12:17am
Ingeniously brilliant... thx a lot
wolfinabox 9 Feb, 2016 @ 6:11pm
I'm trying to run this on my small ship, but after a few rotations, the display stops updating, and the programmable block says the script is too complex?
alex  [author] 9 Feb, 2016 @ 10:01am
@"Lord Tridax the Blood dragon" Okay. I will look into that.
The Field Marshal 9 Feb, 2016 @ 9:58am
heres an idea link it to a satelite to transmit via signal for long range radar and grid radar for orbital operations then maby i can drop the hammer down on anything i want hahaha.
chillinflute 8 Feb, 2016 @ 4:23pm
Dude... I salute you... damn... words... life... the universe... everything... 42... I don't even know what to say ;D
mahtrok 8 Feb, 2016 @ 4:13am
This is simply awesome, both versions with an without Sensors
Percy The Rover™ 6 Feb, 2016 @ 11:17pm
Is there any way to get this script + setup to work on a large grid/ship?
alex  [author] 6 Feb, 2016 @ 8:54pm
If the radar doesn't detect anything, and the distance says more than 60000m, it could be a glitch in the remote control block that happens if there's too much going on in the world. I am investigating. https://gfycat.com/TautHarmfulHen
cthulhu_dulu 6 Feb, 2016 @ 8:12pm
does it work in space
LeftFieldRebel 6 Feb, 2016 @ 11:45am
just when i thought the other couldnt get better, we get this gem :)
8377 Rose 6 Feb, 2016 @ 11:35am
Oh... Oh my... I have to use this for the stuff I want to do... Ohmygosh.
Antharann Fireblade 6 Feb, 2016 @ 10:43am
nice work dude
GhostFromSpace 5 Feb, 2016 @ 6:38pm
cool
Hypergen 5 Feb, 2016 @ 12:18pm
Awesome! Please do more stuff with Radar!
alex  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 10:30am
@AutoMcDonough The moving parts are very important. The script gets the angle from the rotor, and the data from the sensors needs to be combined with that. The lines you see represents the actual rotor angles. If you stop the rotor, it stops updating, even if the script is still running. I think you just have to try what physical arrangements doesn't case self-detection to block results. I'm currently working on a solution to make physical arrangements less of a problem.
AutoMcDonough 5 Feb, 2016 @ 9:59am
If I am avoiding moving parts and just mount them to the grid will it still work? Do they need to be in the same physical arrangement or could I put them on the extents of the ship?
Shepard (KeGGeR) 5 Feb, 2016 @ 9:00am
That makes sense, I might be tempted to have two arrays set up on a larger ship or station. One would show closer proximity with more detail, the other would detect vehicles and manmade objects further out!
alex  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 8:56am
@CDR.Shepard (KeGGeR) The remote control blocks doesn't pick up life forms. And not planets either, i think. They are also more difficult to figure out how to place on a grid so they work. They need to be far away from center.
Shepard (KeGGeR) 5 Feb, 2016 @ 8:52am
Do the remote control blocks detect as much as the sensors or are there some limitations to them?
alex  [author] 5 Feb, 2016 @ 8:47am
@CDR.Shepard (KeGGeR) Yup, all vanilla. But works with increased sensor range mods too.
Shepard (KeGGeR) 5 Feb, 2016 @ 8:46am
Holy smokes, so this combines the Remote Control blocks and the sensors for longer range in all vanilla?
