I will try to learn it in a rough draft version of this new mod that removes the epic fail firing from point blank. Since a player managed to make the team survive and sneak attack those aliens very very closely, i believe that player deserves a better shot rather than just miss (specially with grenadier big machine gun weapon). A mod like this would be very c00l indeed :dipaddle:

Very doable, but it may cause conflict with other mods. It's a simple .ini edit if you want to do it yourself, otherwise i'll upload it to the Workshop in a half hour.

We are eager also to see a simple mod that removes the miss chance when firing right next to the enemy alien or with just '1' square far from target. Is a mod like this doable ? :kv:

Instead of just increasing damage nullifying the increased difficulty I made criticals deal double damage to kill some of the scarier mid/late game enemies. Accuracy was increased from 20 to 25% causing 99%'s during midgame for rangers, never ruining your "XCOM baby" moment! but removing it throgh natural aim soon enough.

I need numbers. What's the accuaricy increase and crit chance increase? also, the print is showing default sword dtatus, not double damage.

For everyone saying that melee is fine.
My colonels at peak of technology(most melee upgrades, except for last one), 7-9 dmg with fusion blade with no crit in sight, however my shotguns, double shot for 19crit per shot, at safe distance, with a chance to outright kill enemies and chance to not spend action on firing. Have i mentioned that crit chance was at 70 or so??

No sorry melee is too weak, bladestorm was sometimes useful but thats pretty much it.

Tbh i would prefer mod which made melee benefit from weapon mods and ammo and maybe gts upgrade raising melee perk bonus from +2 to +4 or maybe proving grounds adding some small melee dmg buff.

Thanks. Due to the middling damage of melee attacks I always found it more useful to just say f it and shotgun the SOBs in the back. Now I might actually get some use out of my fancy sword.

@Jin- Thank you, I was going to say that myself. I'm doing my first playthrough on commander and using the melee can be tricky at times. This will give me a hair bit more flexability

People need to read that it is intended for higher difficulty levels instead of the easy and normal. Melee is pretty much useless in those harder difficulties. Even in the first few levels it won't kill Advent basic soldiers and its just safer to shoot them.

actually later, melee can't be used on some enemy without.... either be counter or feel the blast of an enemy that explode at death

The melee in XCOM 2 is great and works amazingly I can't figure out why people need extra crit chance. If the mod was releassed when their were new swords from the workshop then it might be needed but not now. However the idea is nice as to help new people have a fair shot at melee.

I've watched streamers do full Ranger teams and faceroll going melee. This is far from needed.

Melee does not need crit chance. Melee needs hit chance. Fuck getting close to an enemy and missing your slash.

It does not effect enemy Stun Lancers, don't worry! :)
