It will probably overwrite the balancing of early-game weapon upgrades (though it really shouldn't have to), but otherwise it looks fine.

It looks like the upload didn't go properly as several files are missing from the Workshop version. I'll inform PrometheusDarko and try to get this fixed soon.

Thanks for the quick reply! unfortunately I don't see it :/ either on the Mod Menu Options or the Config folder in my games for xcom 2. I only see Grimmy's mod for the Mod Menu Options

Not a problem! It is intentional; you'll want to either use Mod Config Menu or run XCOM 2 with Weapon Upgrades Expanded loaded, then look for Documents\my games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config\XComWeaponUpgradesExpanded.ini

Hey guys sorry to bug you so recently after you updated your mod but there is no XComUpgradesExpanded.ini folder anymore for the prototype weapon bonus values. Was this intentional or is it no longer there as an ini file for editing? Thanks for the mod btw great stuff :3!

So I found the Prototype Repeater in my game and it has no art assets, just a placeholder image. No icon in the list of weapon upgrades, no overlay on the weapon icon on the bottom-right corner once equipped, and it doesn't change the appearance of the 3D model of the soldier's weapon.

I edited the ini folders in order to create more timed loot instances on enemies however the expanded attachments do not show up anymore. Any idea on how to edit the ini files to where they show up?

Do I need to start a new game for this mod to work or will it work in an existing game? Just got to Tier 3 armor in my game and I don't want to restart a new campaign.

@julius86, @José, The rarity of Protoype mods is meant to be the balancing factor, as is the fact that when replaced they are destroyed. As well, when a team member using them dies, unless his/her body is recovered, the protoype mod is lost. All in all, the low drop rate should prevent you from having too many of these.

As for the "Prototype" name needing a debuff, I beg to differ there. Just because it's a Prototype doesn't mean it needs to be flawed. Rare, sure, but it doesn't have to be flawed to be a Prototype. I do appreciate the feedback however, and may incorporate a "balanced" version later on, once my personal life dies down enough to allow me to continue working on this mod in ernest again.

I disagree with you on the stock. The vanilla stocks have the same effect on the Infantry, and if anything, I think they're the most underpowered of the prototype attachments. I will agree that they do need a debuff to prove their 'prototype' status, but I would propose that another type of mods, a level above prototype. 'Military-grade,' for example.

Great mod but I think Protype mods are a bit over powered. It should come with a negative effect like; decrease Aim, crit or has a % chance to use a extra round of ammo when fireing.

Also The stock mod that guarantees damage even if missed is also OP. Espesially if you line this up to the infantry class mod with "Light em up". Should ethier give it a % chance to do damage when missed, give it a negative affect like "-1 ammo capacity", or make it much more rare.

You could make this work with the loot box mod if you add the upgrade to the list in the .ini file for the loot mod, just add some 'prt' upgrades to the pool. You can also add mod weapons to the pool as the mod author's .ini file works more like console commands than getting everything directly from his mod item pool.

Can l assume that this and Grimy's loot mod fight like rats/cats/wolverines in a sack? I have them both installed at the moment and l get some odd behaviour around the sword items but otherwise OK. I dont think l am far enough into the game to appreciate if prototypes are droppping but if anything was going to go wrong it would be these given the loot table drops from Grimy's mod.

BUG: You can equip a prototype mod and a superior mod on the same gun (I think the prototype has to be applied first? Not sure)
