Do you know about Realm of Mistvalin?
EdUb3 30 Nov, 2018 @ 2:17pm
That would be amazing! Feel free to msg me on steam when/if you do that. I am part of a community of gamers / developers, that would love to take part! With enough notice I may be able to provide 4-5 competent players for this (maybe more). We would also be willing to help you playtest any content you create. We like historical accuracy, so your factions mods are right up our alley. If there is anything else we may be able to help with, let me know.

Anytime! Glad people enjoy the mod :)

I do have some other diplomacy mods which can spice things up for your player faction. But you're free to join a faction of your choice. I hope it causes some cool conflicts and stuff...

Infact, I might just create a temporary PvP server with this mod. And see what happens ^-^

Just tested it, it works! Thanks!:steamhappy:

:tiextinguish:It is still marked "incompatible" (by steam?), but ignore the error, and it still works fine.
Coggernaut  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 2:23pm
I updated the mod, it works! It contains flags for the factions in-game. You can also join these NPC factions.

May experiment with more in the future
Coggernaut  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 12:40pm
I'll update it today, I got noth'n else to do :)
EdUb3 24 Nov, 2018 @ 11:25am
This mod still seems to be broken.... Will there be an update soon?
Coggernaut  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 11:17am
I'll go ahead and see what broke in this, thanks for notifying me :)
TK421 18 Jun, 2017 @ 10:36am
I'm guessing a update broke this? It doesn't work for me and says "incompatible" in the mod list. Or maybe its just me?!?
Coggernaut  [author] 19 Feb, 2017 @ 5:35pm
I will be updating faction descriptions sometime in the future, now that it's possible :)
Coggernaut  [author] 7 Jan, 2017 @ 12:39pm
It is possible, but They wont be the faction leader

That's the only downside...

I'm going to do more NPC related stuff when it becomes supported again :)
iiDogez 7 Jan, 2017 @ 12:30pm
can you add the people who rule the factions be like npcs you can find around the world?
Coggernaut  [author] 12 Nov, 2016 @ 1:34pm
Oh man you know it! I've just been really busy with other projects and university work. Though many things I'ed like to do with this mod are not yet mod-able. I'll be updating it sometime in the future for sure!

I'ed like to add in customized NPC's that are apart of faction's... this I can currently do. Though I am unable to have the NPC's attack enemies of the faction and not attack people within the same faction. How barbarians work currently is it targets the Player as Enemy and all other Barbarian NPC's friendly. I cannot modify this. So even if I had NPC's for each nation... they would simply behavior like normal barbarians.

I plan on adding some unique items from the time period... possibly some additional RP items. Theirs a lot I want to do, that I simply cant do at the moment.

I hope your still working on this. It looks like a great idea. It's what I always thought the survival was missing.
Coggernaut  [author] 19 Oct, 2016 @ 1:18pm
Big news! Yurand2000 and I are working on this project now! Together, we will bring quality mods of the Medieval Era!

«SG.Sub» | Sir Scottx125 You say Im sorely mistaken then you go into some broken rant supporting my point. Witch you obviously missed. Dont get too hung up on the age of empires comparison. How about Mount and blade with castle building. whatever your probubly going to anally retain that one too.You dont really need some kind of super AI this early in alpha. but i believe with just some small tweaks to the existing AI they could give us alot more to play around with. i mean whats to do right now. i mean whats the point of building some epic castle to defend it against one or two guys with a catapult.
Coggernaut  [author] 22 Feb, 2016 @ 9:22am
@Sir Scottx125 @MurderJunkie

Part 1:

I know about the dev's true ambition behind the project Medieval Engineers. As Sir ScottX125 points out it's to create a incredible AI. With that in mind I wanted to create a mod that would eventually utilise that AI. For now the AI are restricted to fighting "humans" and not "humans of the other faction" hence I cannot include NPC guards yet. (I can add them but they’ll attack friendlies)

For now what this mod focuses on is role play elements. Some people want to build castles, some want to survive, others want to play in a medieval world setting. Players who want more of an environment to play in rather then control would enjoy this mod. Instead of relying on players to build castles and war each other the NPC's would do it. Then there is you, the mercenary in the middle. Who can choose any king to serve for the right amount of coin, or serve as their sword and shield out of pure loyalty.
Coggernaut  [author] 22 Feb, 2016 @ 9:22am
Part 2:

Of course players may create their own faction and rise as a power... but that requires many people. The goal is to make the world not feel empty, to give it substance, story, motion, and direction. Historians and Role Players alike will enjoy this mod.

As a side note, I'm developing these "Medieval Faction" mods with the intention that these will be used on servers.
Scottx125 21 Feb, 2016 @ 9:58am
If you think this game is in any way about Age of Empires you are sorely mistaken, its called MEDIEVAL ENGINEERS for god sake... Its about medieval engineering. How is that in any way related to a RTS game? Plus the AI is being massively focused on as it is the entire goal of the game, use medieval engineering methods to create a castle to protect your peasants and hold off barbarian invaiders. Plus the CEO has a seperate project running which seeks to create a greater general AI system for everything, games, simulations ect.
MurderJunkie 21 Feb, 2016 @ 7:52am
honestly i dont see why AI peasants and soldiers are not a huge part of the development of the game already. I baught this game when it was first released and still have barely played it because ttheres not alot to do right now that interests me. i was hoping for something like age of empires in three demensions. instead we got something more like angry birds.

Both maps are pretty accurate. There's a 150-200 year gap between the two & a -lot- of war & switching-sides happened. Also, the Total War map shows more of the "reality" of a divided France, but Coggernaut's shows the more "ideal" unified nation
Pethy 21 Feb, 2016 @ 4:21am
Your map is incorrect look this one:

@STORI3D PAST Productions Thanks a lot man! I'm looking forward to seeing some more villages and forts :D

Maybe even some 1050 AD villages!

Subscribed, Favorited, and Rated Up. A very cool idea, and really well done! The map and the background material are excellent. And I like the time period you picked -- it's the first real Europe-wide awakening after all the migrations and "Dark Age" period. c AD 1050 is a crazy-vibrant time. Does the game allow for Duchy-level factions? In France especially, its was Duchies like Normandy and Aquitaine that held the real power. "France" as a united country was still more of a pipe-dream.
Coggernaut  [author] 17 Feb, 2016 @ 12:25am
Please "Rate Up" it helps others know you like the mod :)
Coggernaut  [author] 16 Feb, 2016 @ 5:10pm
In the future this mod will have a lot of Role Play elements. For now it works, but more will be added in the future :)

Dont forget to download Yurand2000's flag mod!
delicious_PrimalOrder 16 Feb, 2016 @ 6:44am
I think this idea is nice, something like a medieval themed rpg Minecraft :)
