Friends of mine lives along I10W, so when we drove there from the airport I was all like "haha I know those buildings."

What was cool was the reaction: "oh you built those in Cities Skylines?" Apparently word had traveled across the Atlantic that I was involved in nefarious projects :)

I didn't know uptown H town had mining operations. Do you think you could model the whole uptown skyline (just the buildings), because I like those buildings on Ambassador Way, and of course the Galleria as gigantic as it is.

All my upvotes: seriously, RICO NEEDS more assets like this. Even though unique buildings already function as office + park combos, RICO Offices don't cost maintinence (usually, iirc) and you can place multiple of them. :)

I think I got it: I had my downtown area split in half by districts, one of them had a high rise ban enabled.

Yeah they show zots when there's too few services for example, and I'm sure things like no water etc. pop up as well. I've pinged AJ on chat, maybe he knows more about this.

I'll have a look next time I play. It's my downtown area, there are other L3 offices nearby, but I won't rule out the possibility.

Though if these were zoned, they would show a complaint bubble and then abandon. I don't have auto-bulldoze turned on for that. Do RICO buildings abandon or show issues of any kind?

I've seen it a couple of times with other assets but don't exactly know what makes it happen. Not running into problems with it myself though. Are services up to scratch? It's a L3 office so maybe that's what's happening here. though I guess not =/

Maybe we should take it to @AJ3D, the mod's creator...

For some reason, the RICO versions of your buildings disappear shortly after placement, as if I'd just dezoned them. Is this something you've heard of?

@mb1.0.2: I should first update my other assets -_- Had been eyeing Heritage Plaza but that'd take too much time because it's such a bastard to texture.

@CityDave: Not with these textures and proportions, no.

The base and top floor are set-up to be a service floor for the rest of the building so they would need to go; there'd be no more need for a rooftop helipad; the color mix on the facade works decently because of its vertical repetetitiveness IMO (you'd lose that on a groundscraper), etc.

Basically it'd need to be a whole new asset and an original to boot, no shortcuts for me by just imitating real life :) So a 'version' is out, though a ~25 floor copy might be useful since those do actually exists.

I lol'ed at the description of this...I know right where this is at. Love to see a few Houston items popping up recently. Any plans to tackle some of the structures of downtown proper? There's literally ONE Houston skyscraper on the workshop right now.
