Would it be possible to add a more static mode of the LoS preview ability?
As in not dynamically updating and showing the LoS as the mouse cursor hovers over different tiles as you move it but instead a point-&-click interface.

Basically once you select/activate this mod's LoS ability you just get the center pointer without any LoS projections until you left-click on any tile - at which point you get the full LoS calculation for that tile and maybe even only the current height level with other levels being shown when you move the camera up/down (zoom in/out).

And maybe retaining the current dynamic mode when one keeps the left mouse button depressed.

likely a base game bug, destructibles sometimes do not update LOS properly mid turn, and they will get definite proper update when you save and reload the game.

Basically you were seeing aliens you are not supposed to see but the game does not catch on properly.

When I reload a tactical save, all my soldiers lose all line of site to the all the enemies (even if they are adjacent), if there any way this mod could be causing that. Its the only tactical mod I have loaded.

You mean the ability bar? I think the arrows was a LW Toolbox / Long War 2 implementation. If you need something like that, I'd recommend "Unlimited Ability Icons"

I see in some user's screenshots there are small arrows at the end to expand the bar to the left or right. I don't see that on my screen. How do you enable that?

Ah, damned if you do damned if you don't kinda thing. Well, I'd agree with the current implimentation then, the situation I described is less likely to occur than an extra actions kinda thing.

no making it requires at least 1 standard action points is intended. Otherwise the game won't end turn if people who are out of action points still have available actions.

Hello,

Small bug to report for you. It appears as though the preview buttons do not work during certain events. An example of this is implacable, an ability which provides a movement action after a kill. If a solider kills something and gains this benefit without any other actions remaining, the preview buttons are unavailable.

The game cites "not enough action points" when attempting to select the abilites.I'm guessing the game doesn't realize this particular ability costs no action points, nor does it have an impact in terms of chances or damage rolls. I'm not sure if the game has the ability to recognize it as such, but I figured I'd let you know in case something can be done.

The only useful part of this mod is identifying bodies of fallen soldiers. The other icons just take up space and never get used. With so many abilities, the last thing I need is three command slots taken up on my UI. Please allow an option to remove the commands we don't need (like movement preview and LOS preview)

depends on your pc performance and number of enemies, gotcha can be quite demanding especially when there's squadsight involved.

@-bg- Hey thanks for the reply. Yes I know but that was only once I used the ability, at least for me. Now I'm disabling one mod at a time trying to find the culprit. Literally unplayable for me, it stutters every single action I do and when switching soldier -.-

you might want to use alternate mod launcher and check for override conflicts, they do cause major frame lost.

Nevermind have 30 fps loss even after disabling it. I installed a few other mods as well so perhaps this one is innocent.

I think I'm not the only who losing 30 fps with this mod from what I've read... good concept. I only care for the bodies though but I will unsubscribe for performance.

would it be possible to set the shothudpriority for these abilities way back so that the abilities are the last in the order and so that they only show if avaiable.

Hi! Great mod! Current using it in LW2. But VIPs in missions don't get this mod's toolbar icon. Can usually check using another soldier, but it would be nice to use it directly. Have More Default Soldier Abilities mod installed, but it doesn't make a difference here.

Even on a powerful PC (i7 5820K, 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1080) this ability lags the game badly when in preview mode - FPS bounces all over the place. For me right now, it's not usable in this state.

It consumes more CPU power to calculate all possible tiles, if your CPU barely meets the requirements of the game of course it will lag.

Terrible performance issues when moving the mouse while in preview mode. FPS plummets to 30 fps.

LOS preview appearing twice might be related to some mods attempting to render UITacticalHUD twice. Body not showing up is due to a mod that causes body pickup to bug out so it finds no pickable bodies.

One mod or another that I installed caused the body preview button to disappear and the LOS button to appear twice on some soldiers. It was working with the LW Perk Pack, and uninstalling the Beatdown skill didn't affect it. I found no overrides in the Engine.ini file, and wiping config files didn't work. This is probably a dumb question, but do you have any suggestions as to where I should start looking for the problem?

the waves thing means what tile your soldier can see if they are standing on the selected tile.

nice mod, is it possible to do a LOS from the POV of an enemy? perhaps it would be possible to calculate the LOS from an object just 3 or 4 tiles from it? no need to calcule every tile, from there you can have a good idea where enemy will not see you, save performance i think

in the end your mod is essencial, its complicated to play ironman without it

you can't use that to edit the position of other icons, those numbers are only used as a reference where the other icons are so you can position the 3 icons this mod has without restarting a lot.

Hey dev!!

I seen in your ini file that you had the numerical value of all the other action abilities, is there anyway that we can edit that in a simple ini file?? Because with this amazing mod, ready up, evac all and overwatch all, I've got too many icons jumping around the place!! :)
