@Wyldesnelsson, using Enemy Reskinner works if you want to add the viper colours to the vipers in-game. It also can randomise them so more than one option shows. I´ve tried with WOTC/LWOTC and it works fine, just that sometimes the pod reveal cinematic will use the default skin.

If I want to use the skins as part of an enemy reskinner mod, is it a matter of just deleting the config files and script in the mod? (so it works only as a resource pack). I play LWOTC so it´s not compatible but that should work.

@QuellaVolpe-REC-: Yes, I think so. Actually still using it myself. My comment was more of a jab towards Landgreen, due to a comment of his on another mod...and curiosity. Since, as I said, I'm using this mod on my non-WotC-game.

May I suggest for the Anaconda, make most of it's health Shielding so it won't let your soldiers go after a single hit, just to make it more menacing.

Is there any desire for you to port your modifications which add variants (This one, Ascension and Avenged) To be compatible with Long War 2?

Or are they already theoretically compatible right now?

does this mod make a vairable as to which snake will spawn or does it add them to the game in a way that makes it more likely for them to be picked? Like if the game gose to choose an alien and picks on?. Because it would be more likely for it to pick a snake as there would be 9 chances for them now and not just one.

also how well does this work with ABA? I know there is a sub mod that mess with something like this is this what it messes with?

Will there eventually be autopsies for these different sneks, or is that not planned any time soon?
Also, the Chameleon seems weak, as by the time I started encountering them, even a dodged shot is still enough to kill them.

Finally, is there any chance of the various snek-skin patterns being included in the future as customization options for my soldiers? After installing this mod I've got a ton of Viper skin but not much use for it.

What exactly was wrong with this mod? I mean what did the patch or new DLC break in your mod? Only asking so I know what to look for in my mod in the case of anything being broke.

This seems to have a wide variation, does it make the stretegy aspect of the game weaker for it's randomness?

These are all effectively separate units, correct? Are they all the same force level as the regular Viper?

Good news, for those who do not know yet, this mod now works perfectly after the last update.
The textures now work right from the start, and no skyranger CTD's either.

ùafter further inspection: this mod works perfectly fine only if certain conditions are met it seems :/ I have tried to activate it in multiple campaigns and discovered that it works without a problem if: 1) you have a shadow chamber 2) you have at least 1 viper corpse 3) you are already in late game (SPOILERS AHEAD!!) and by "late game" I mean:






you have to have unlocked the Advent Forge assault

Suddenly have the black textures issue as well :o I dunno something seems to have fixed the crash issues and brought some more, shame, this is one very cool and "diverse" mod. I'd love to see it finished and working properly. Take your time but definitely do not stop working on this mod, it adds a lot!

I can confirm the texture issue as well. All vipers added in this mod are black and textureless.

The texture issue, at least for me, did not occur with the performance patch that started the skyranger CTD issue, but the small patch released on the same day of the Anarchy's Children DLC.
It is not the DLC though, the bug remains wihout it loaded, and I can confirm other mods that add different textures like gun mods and the Elite Viper mod still work without problems.

Perhaps there is a changelog for that patch, I'm pretty certain it's the source of the problem.

@Landgreen There seems to be an issue with the mod regarding the Shadow Chamber? Or atleast that's what Quella and I have discovered, the game does not crash in the Skyranger if you have one built, but from what I tested it doesn't load the new vipers' textures either.

So, I just tested the mod out with the Dropunit command, and the new Vipers don't even have textures? They're solid black models.

@QuellaVolpe Funny you should say that, I am now having an issue where if I try to look at a Guerilla Ops when one shows up, my game crashes before I can even get to the Squad screen.
I'm downloading the XCOM 2 Dev kit right now and i'm gonna see if I can make myself a personal mod that just replaces the normal Vipers' scale patterns with this mod's Anaconda skin, it shouldn't be hurting anyone since i'm just making it for myself (And the fact that this mod is pretty much abandoned)

Holy Ballsack, the mod DOES infact work if you have a Shadow Chamber built. I consoled one in on my game, activated the mod, and BOOM, no crash on the Skyranger.

@QuellaVolpe I might try to console in the Shadow Chamber in my game and try to load the mod and see if that works, if it does, I need to get in contact with the mod author and let him/her know about this, maybe the mod will be fixed then.
