Love the generator. It makes a pretty good map so much more interactive. But I do feel like it would be better as a one time levelution. Maybe have a well lit map for the first few rounds, then have the lights go out mid-game have the lights go out. forcing the players to go between dimly lit rooms, using only their flashlights to navigate long hallways. Maybe this would last 1, 2, or 3 rounds depending on the game length chosen. All this while the players wait for the backup power to kick in. Then everything turns a less dim red. only thing is i'd be more fun to have the players do it too. only organic way I could think of doing this would be to have a no-power related environmental damage force the players to the generator room. Maybe something like lack of oxygen on a space station map. I might even be willing to put money towards a map like that... Anyway, good job with this.

Power functions just fine. Beyond that, I'm assuming weather is the only other major mechanic? If the intention is to randomly decide a weather type and stick with it, I think that works just fine. I believe the expectation from some is that the weather would change multiple times throughout the game.

Given Endless obviously goes far beyond the normal set of rounds, the weather being the same for several hours due to the game lengths is just very noticable. The weather does NOT change (at least not that I have seen) after the occasional first change during the early rounds.

The problem regarding new game modes is that I have no idea how they function internally and don't really have the urge to do the research. Do they not work at all?

Also, regarding whiteout/night switch - map loads up with whiteout on and then randomly decides which weather to set.

Sad to hear :( it's a very well done map and other than the issues I've mentioned, I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from the players on my 64 slot server.

Would you consider perhaps allowing another mapper that is active in the KF2 mapping community and have them fix the issues?

Hi HAPPYCAT, no, unfortunately no plans on updating the map. Updating maps for this game is a pain and a lot of stuff can randomly go wrong, and I'm not really sure if TW fixed all of that. Maaaaybe if they release a new game difficulty which is harder than currently not-so-hard HoE I'll get back into the game.

Any plans on updating this map to support endless mode? Stand your ground objectives? At the moment the map starts with the whiteout, and then it turns to night and stays that way the rest of the game. Would be great if the whiteout and night switched every wave or so.

Not bad, I definately prefer it too dark as opposed to too light. You can work with the darkness, but too bright is just blindingly white and painful on the eyes! (so no, I didn't try that).

Great map! Only thing I'd change is make the windows lower and/or large enough that you can blow them out and jump through them to the outside if things get too crazy.

The hitboxes for metal bars and the light towers are really hindering. It looks like you can move side to side, but you're actually pinned by an invisible barrier.

If filename will be the same it might cause a big mess because you will not be sure if your version is fresh or not. As I see it filename change only may hurt server map rotation string.

Anyway, I'm not sure if i will do any more updates unless TWI decides to suddenly fix landscapes not working properly if you make holes in them (I need it for hangar entrance). Considering how fast this company fix bugs and stuff, it's absolutely possible that this will never be fixed.

Not sure if it's the whole log file, can you upload it somewhere? I'm not playing the game anymore and can't quickly test it with my own server.

As for lack of snow, well... I couldn't find what causes it and for me it works alright. If you're still here, Najix, can you tell if the snow works for you?

Finally, a suggestion - the entrance to the hangar is a bit blocky, perhaps making the ledge out of concrete that has some ice hanging off of it could work, the wall underneath being concrete rather than snow.

Hello there. I absolutely love this map - it's huge, it has the AWESOME twist with the generator (and the surprise guests when you turn around), and it has a lot of tactical options, and easy to remember routes. Probably my new go-to map, really.

That being said - while the night version is pretty much perfect, in the whiteout version I've encountered a couple of bugs.

First off, as another user said, the snow does not appear, making visibility outside a non-issue (except for zed-time, when I'm simply blind).

Another issue stands with some objects inside when the lights are out. While the lighting of the rest of the room (near windows) is brilliant, those objects really stand out, and perhaps that should be looked at.

Played KF-Antarctic-06 map today, Not sure if it is the same map, but before wave 5 when I turned on the power in generator room, I saw 6 ghost-like thing showed up behind me...

It depends on one of your graphical settings, I don't remember the exact setting, i think it's "details". The snow can destroy the performance on PCs that are below average. You should be able to see it if you will set everything on high.

I love the 50/50 chance of whether I'll be fighting in a blinding whiteout during the day or in a calm, starry setting of night.

Although, there's something I've begun to notice. In the whiteout set, I'm not seeing any snow falling. It could just be me then, but when I did a comparision between the whiteout preview (the screenshot above) and actual gameplay, it's only a white haze. Again, it's probably just me. I'd figured it would be best if I let you know about it.

Other than that, I've greatly enjoyed playing this map entirely. Very well done! :B1:
