LOL, ok, I will remove, but don't think its integrated into LW2. My first run through with LW2 I never got any UFOs until after the one that downs the Avenger. Thank anyway.

Oh wait, I just noticed you're trying to use this with LW2. It's already integrated in it. I wrote this a while ago (check the description), so I can't explain why exactly however and honestly I think I might even be wrong. I think it's because of all the new Supply Raid mechanics, those are all handled by LW2 now. You should use this mod with Vanilla or WOTC only for maximum compatibility.

Well, flushed the ini user files, no help. Had a bunch of missions tonight with 3 more resource ones and still no UFO, Has anyone had this mod work since XCOM2 was last updated with the release of WOTC ? That update messed up some other mods and may have hosed this one up too. Also had this been updated since the final release of LW2 ? I subscribed to the before I started a new game, but no luck so far.

You might have been unlucky, or the mod is not active correctly. Also note reloading doesn't work, the mission is set a while before it appears. The odds of missing a coin flip 6 times is around 1 or 2 percent. You can always try to flush your user ini files (not the game ones). Good luck.

Started my second run through of LW2 and was tired of all the mission in the first run that had no corpses collected. I remembered that the UFO landed mission did so I installed this mod. I have now done at least six supply missions (slash & grab) and not a one UFO landed mission has appeared. I checked the .ini and its set at 50. So what gives, does this work or not ??

I cant update this for the DLC because CreateSupplyRaidMission has changed, but the source files with the game do NOT reflect the change. The compiler tells me my redefinition from the base game differs from the actual code used right now. Unless someone shows me the original CreateSupplyRaidMission function code from X2StrategyElement_DefaultMissionSources I cannot update this mod for WOTC.

@SShaker: Well, in the campaign that just ended (messed up on the strategy layer, like a fool) I had... um... three Supply Missions (made it to July), none of those were a landed UFO. So, maybe my tweak worked. Hard to tell with an RNG-affecting change. The game's not gone bang though.

Had a bit of a think, think this should work.

I created a new file:
Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\646132789\Config\XComGameData.ini

Added this:
[XComGame.X2StrategyElement_DefaultMissionSources]
-PercentChanceLandedUFO=50
+PercentChanceLandedUFO=30

We'll see how it goes.

If you ever get round to looking at this mod again it would be nice to have a separate, mod-specific INI file to set the % in. Rather than editing the game's default INI (re-set when re-verifying files) or user-specific one (clearing out that directory's a common recommendation for modded games).

Man, I love this mod. I get downed UFO missions ALL the time, and they are probably my favorite. So much better than the "go rescue/kill this VIP or another" BS. I hate those missions so much -_-;

Oh wow, I didn't realize you had to do the UFO mission to get these, I just thought they were a really rare mission type.

Use wghost's Timer Mod to add 4 turns. I strongly recommend it (for a total of 10 turns). I wish I could tailor it by difficulty but her add-on cannot handle it, so 4 it is.

The fact that these missions only happen after being hunted by a UFO baffles me, thanks for this mod. It doesn't even have any unforseen balance issues, save 'oh god, look out for that timer', it's just >here's a cool new part of the game, please enjoy.

Mod doesnt change the INI file. Maybe I smoked too much crack and it was already 50.

That's a real shame. The lack of mission variety really sucks sometimes, and the avenger defense is one of the funnest but rarest.

@fatlazyhomer Those are "legacy" lines they only affect XCOM:EW. Dont ask me why they left them there.

Almost everything on top of the file is just garbage code. But dont delete it, you never know how XCOM 2 would behave, it might choke.

Strangely I could never find the syntax to increase the number of UFO hunts. These lines don't seem to do anything:

LATE_UFO_CHANCE=50
EARLY_UFO_CHANCE=50
UFO_LIMIT=2
UFO_INTERCEPTION_PCT=66

found in XComGameCore.ini.

@fatlazyhomer They are more common late game because the % kicks in, and the % is high. Since the game doesnt check until you encounter a Dark Hunt event that activates, you wont see any. You can also extend the timer of UFOs with wghost's timer mod, which is what I use (I added 2 turns to all missions, and the UFO I added 2 more for a total of 4, which bring it to around 10 turns).

I feel like once you are into the late game, UFO landings become more common than supply raids. They do seem to offer more high-level rewards, and it is harder because they often have a timer.

I suppose a landed UFO brings more Elerium and Alloys than a standard Supply Mission. I dont know the specifics honestly.

I believe the default value in the base game is 67. It's a little high because it happens late game. I recommend 50%.

THANK YOU SO MUCH... I have played 275 hours of XCOM and I've never had a UFO land! Been dying for something like this.

So, what is the value you have set as default for this mod?

Neat! Is there a way to increase the number of UFO hunts/avenger defense missions as well? I've been trying to do get more of those.
