I just started thinkering with Modding Majesty and would be intereseted to see the code.
I think it mostly felt like busywork towards the end though, so I'm not sure I would recommend it in the end.
After that, the other kingdoms were more like busywork. Reanimate heroes left and right, spam more units, spam earthquakes and finally crash to desktop xD
1. Difficulty is actually advanced. The 4 kingdoms start at the same level as you and your heroes tend to be lured in by foreign flags placed on hostile targets. Plus these kingdoms will not be defeated until the palace is gone, unlike in the siege.
2. Message at the beginning: "To prevail, you will need to destroy all four palaces of your rivals. Keep in mind that each kingdom is hostile to each other as well as you - this is a free-for-all war!"
I need to give mafilux strat a try and see how skeletan raids and wind storm + earthquake play.
As lukedanger5 said, constantly ressurecting heroes is a must, though I did manage to eschew the balista/wizard tower slow push (although I did have a forward base with ballistas, dwarven settlement, an outpost and a couple of guilds). Ballistas featured heavily in early base defense; I guess you could do without them, just as I guess you could make a steam-powered airplane.
Tedious endgame, but it's a challenge alright.
Hints: Priestess of Krypta/Warrior of Discord works great. Set reward flags, combo with earthquake or portals, and mass create skeleton spell to overwhelm enemies. Was a fun way of doing it, with a lot more RTS feel since you're micromanaging a lot of things.
What do I need to do to program this (Using Basic Functions and such)...
Also, how do I position buildings exactly the way I want them?
I do have a few criticisms though.
One, Barbarians will attack other heroes and even themselves to defend Rangers Guilds; WoD do the same for Fervus Temples; Warriors, Agrela Temples; Paladins, Dauros Temples.
Two, enemies never recruit Warriors of Discord or Paladins when taking Fervus/Dauros; this is missed potential.
Three, enemies will set attack flags and never take them down; this is easily exploitable to leave enemy heroes entering a meatgrinder of ballista towers.
And four, the enemies don't make use of any northern expansion building except magical bazaars: no sorceror's abode, mausoleum (this is a necessity for Krolm kingdoms), outpost, embassy, or hall of champions.
There is however a very easy way to win. Builds defenses around castle. Put attack flag on each of the enemies castle. Let them destroy themselves.
Haven't been able to beat this quest yet, after trying a balanced approach and then spamming barbarians. But its the fun kind of hard. A++ gold star, whatever this is awesome.
