SWatt_Officer 15 Jan, 2018 @ 9:23am
This and the traits one are unuable due to updates
Shadae Prajschet 9 Jan, 2018 @ 10:31am
Sadly ctd on startup. No other mods, just this one.
Kosmonawt 2 May, 2017 @ 4:43pm
Update, please? For the new Utopia update? This mod won't work on the new ethics setup.
Damocles66 28 Apr, 2017 @ 11:35am
they are in steamapps/workshop/content/<gameId?>/<modId?>
So this should be 281990/682064717.
Sick#Rabbid 22 Apr, 2017 @ 7:24am
Is it possible to make a mod, which allows to choose from all ethics at the same time?
Sargento Ignacia 30 Mar, 2017 @ 5:03pm
I dont care about the bug. But could you please update so the game stops complaining about "muh obselete mods"? The mods works fine, but the game wont stop complaining, same with the Traits and Trait Pick Unlimited
Kingdark 1 Nov, 2016 @ 9:42am
Does anyone know where the modded files are located? I will attempt to try and make a fix myself.
The Mountain_MAN 25 Oct, 2016 @ 11:34am
Is there going to be an update on this?

Scarlet 18 Jul, 2016 @ 9:22pm
update plz
marcoscastrobh 28 Jun, 2016 @ 12:34pm
with the last update the game is only working with mods compatible with version 1.2 of the game. could make this mod compatible with the new version, thanks.
Avalanche 16 Jun, 2016 @ 6:08pm
That fix is so not going to work now since the developers made it so that you can't use a custom faction that has more than it should be able to have.

You will need to use a mod that gives you specific stuff without the AI getting it, like the Easy Mode mod or the Deus Ex mod.
Background Character 16 Jun, 2016 @ 3:12pm
It seems that the temporary fix doesn't work. When I disable the mod and relaunch the game, the empire is no longer visible to be selected. When I renable the mod, it reappears.
Sarus 2 Jun, 2016 @ 6:02am
a mod like this one doesn't neccessarily need a "update"
Kosmonawt 2 Jun, 2016 @ 4:21am
Update?
Avalanche 31 May, 2016 @ 1:29pm
@Bairc: The AI gets this also.
Bairc 30 May, 2016 @ 9:46pm
Do the ai still get the same options or has it been fixed yet?
Machi  [author] 23 May, 2016 @ 1:43am
@Green zipper
I'll look into it
Sarus 23 May, 2016 @ 12:48am
some of these options/policies and whatnot shouldnt be dependent on a ethic, specially a fanatic one just to function, maybe in a reduced form ok but not entirely disabled if you lack that damn ethic (like being unable to use any of the purges D: evil xenos with horrid traits)
Spiffing Reynard 22 May, 2016 @ 7:00pm
There Is one possible ethics tweak that dosent exist on the workshop (IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE VINILLA GAME!), being able to be Individualist AND collectivist or at least be able to move pops off a planet (the problem with some ethics), so in short, your a modder in this feild with a good reputation and skill set, could you PLZ make a mod that allows you to have one minior "conflicting" ethic and one major "conflicting" ethic for example:

Individualist> and <fanatic collectiveist

Making somthing like that would shoot you to the top of the "popular" mods ladder for a while for sure, there is no way I am the only one bugged by this.

Avalanche 22 May, 2016 @ 6:00am
@Machi

My eithic divergence was -100% i modded it just to see if it was cause it was normally -6.5%, it must be one of those intermittent bugs that doesn't always happen, i have played several games and it hasn't happened...in 1.0.3 as well....which is weird.
Machi  [author] 22 May, 2016 @ 3:42am
@Lithari
I think Paradox made pops lose their ethics faster in the last hotfix, have you tried reducing ethic divergence to see if they still lose the ethics?
Avalanche 20 May, 2016 @ 9:09pm
Right now, with 1.0.3, i keep losing ethics for no reason, i might start as a Fanatic Spiritualist and a pacifist and when i start, i look on my world, most of my pops have lost either the fanatic or the pacifist ethic....on the 1.0.2 patch, it never does that.
Sarus 20 May, 2016 @ 5:13pm
indeed
Machi  [author] 20 May, 2016 @ 12:54pm
I agree completely, the workaround I had to do to make Traits Unlimited work kinda properly again would've been a lot easier if I could just add the is_ai = no lines to traits...
Avalanche 20 May, 2016 @ 12:40pm
I discovered that the hard way....poor design, if you ask me, if i made the game and it was moddable, i would make sure there was a specifc command that prevented the AI from taking it, but hey, i didn't make the game.
Machi  [author] 20 May, 2016 @ 11:57am
You can't limit a trait by using is_ai = no
Avalanche 19 May, 2016 @ 7:22pm
Well, You can't really give yourself multi-traits anymore, the game totally refuses to allow you to start a game with it.

You would have to have your own trait and also make it impossible to pick when starting the game, even for you and edit the faction saved file which is located here: 'C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\user_empire_designs.txt' and add the trait in, though you can not go over what the game will allow by default, so no more all the traits, but you can make a custom trait and put in:

initial = no
modification = no
cost = 2
limit = { is_ai = no }

This means that it isn't pickable by you or the AI...i think, that is what the Deus Ex Trait mod has for theirs, but they use an event to give it to the player, but not the AI, i am assuming its similar to doing a basic copy and paste of the trait to the faction saved file itself.
Sarus 19 May, 2016 @ 1:45pm
How do you edit the save file ?
Avalanche 18 May, 2016 @ 11:37pm
Well, so far, i thought i got the capability to prevent the AI from picking the trait, but sadly, i failed, until i figure it out, i will have to leave it as a thing i modify the saved game file to get and make it impossible to pick it at all.

Overall, you can give the trait all the bonuses of the other traits and just give it a cost of 2 or even 4, which forces you to take 2 negative traits to get it and its fine.

You just can't have 99 trait points and 99 trait picks anymore.

I am currently trying to find out how to make it so that the AI never picks the trait without having to resort to editing the saved game file everytime i create a new empire.

I even tried the Edict thing, not sure if that can be removed from the AI picking it up either, the whole AI weight thing is confusing, not sure why you couldn't just have a tag that says 'AI = no' to prevent its use....so much easier. lol
Wargen Elite 18 May, 2016 @ 10:35pm
@Lithari Does creating a custom trait screw with the checksum? I've already got a few Ironman achievements, but the monthly saves kill me, so if I have to cheat to get through this, I will.
Avalanche 16 May, 2016 @ 9:14pm
@Hopit, that is due to the 1.0.2 patch, it fixes an exploit that prevents us from modding the ethics and Traits amounts, you can make a custom trait with everything in it fine, you just can't have more then the traits that the game allows.

@Machi, i suggest that you make a custom trait that gives you all the bonuses of the traits that everyone likely picked when using this mod and you can make it so the AI can't pick it.

I can give you some examples if you like.
Hopit 16 May, 2016 @ 10:40am
Temporary fix doesn't work, as the moment I unselect this mod, the race I made disappears from the list
Val 15 May, 2016 @ 8:41am
Fair enough.
Machi  [author] 15 May, 2016 @ 8:24am
I'll update this one later today, this one isn't/wasn't nearly as unbalancing as the other one tho, which is why I gave it lower priority
Val 15 May, 2016 @ 7:46am
I am also wondering if this has been updated like the traits one?
Crashtastic 15 May, 2016 @ 7:43am
Did you get a chance to fix this mod like traits unlimited?
Magistr1x 15 May, 2016 @ 2:39am
switching between beta and hotfix doesnt work for me

is it probably possible to rework this mod to event based like traits unlimited? dont know if ethics and traits are similar in coding so it would work
FieserMoep 13 May, 2016 @ 4:30pm
Guys, this being a Paradox game you can use the Beta Feature to get the game on Version 1.0.0. In that version you can use the very same trick provided by SneakyBallz and save the game once you have created it. After that just leave the beta and update. Now you can load your all custom empire without having to start the galaxy with the Mod enabled and hence the AI benefiting from it.
Dogamusprime 12 May, 2016 @ 11:30am
nope, paradox made it impossible to use this without giving it to the ai. Why the fuck did they do that?
An Odd Theory 12 May, 2016 @ 7:51am
Ashevil2: I think it's because of today's patch. Hopefully once this mod is updated to 1.0.2, it'll fix the problem.
KingSav3ge 12 May, 2016 @ 7:22am
Paradox "Fixed" the ability to create a race with this and the unlimited traits mod and then disable the mods and play the race.
Emilly 12 May, 2016 @ 6:04am
It's because they edit same file.
