have you made a version of this mod that IS compatible with Long War of the Chosen ? LW2 ? I use the Aliens voice pack...and it goes so damn well with it lol. Too much fun missed without it

It should show up in your inventory the second you can view inventory/equip soldiers

When does the mod become visible in the game. The very first scene or the first non tutorial mission ?

Might I make a suggestion?
If you can't get this one working, perhaps you can try another path.
Aliens: Colonial Marines, while not the best game, does have a large number of weapons you can rip from the game and put in XCOM 2.
Maybe even make xenomorphs based on the crysalid (I know it's spelled wrong; you get the idea) and Andromedian mechanics.
Food for thought.

No WOTC Version due to shader conflicts with the models. I don't have any skills in the model department, so I can't change them to resolve the conflicts. Sorry.

I was going to do that however once i upgraded my weapons to tier 2 it suddenly appeared. Thanks for the help anyways :)

With that many mods, there's a possibility of a conflict. Try starting a new game with just this mod enabled... you can then add your additional mods until you find a conflict. I doubt it's coming from a voicepack, though... so it might be from one of the other weapon mods.

Are you using other mods? Are you enabling the Mod in the Launcher before the game starts? I really can't troubleshoot a single user's problem with a free online mod to a two year old game. I just launched a fresh vanilla game and it shows up in my inventory with no issues.

Are you using War of the Chosen or Long War 2? If so, this won't work. This is only for vanilla XCOM 2.

Yes, this mod cannot work with WotC and no plans for a WotC compatible mod are in the works. Sorry, I don't have the skills to fix the shader issue with the digital assets that Platoon (RIP) created. I don't even have access to the original digital assets that were used to create the model.

Not going to happen unless someone can help with the shader/3d effects. I just know the coding, not anything about building the visual assets. I just took up the assets that Platoon had built before he died and fixed the code to work with the updates. They did something with the latest build that changed how visual assets work and I can't fix that with code, so this mod is stuck.

WotC Version is hitting some issues. I'm having problems with the UPK files that Platoon (RIP) made for the gun. I have no abilities/software to modify/recreate these files, so things are stuck while I troubleshoot to figure out what's wrong. If anyone has any advice on how I can learn to modify UPK files, point me to a resource and I'll try digging around. I'll try to keep people informed on my progress.

Could you add color support and a some kind of "depth" to it? In some scenes, when lighting comes from the right angle, the gun looks flat/dull, texture-wise.

I checked a list of compatible LW2 mods and didn't find any directly stated to be compatible gun mods, just one or two melee weapon ones. Not sure if that's of any help.


Genji's Blades (Overwatch) is supposed to be compatible with LW.

For the weapons mods that don't work, this is the note:

"Weapons need to have 3 mod slots total. If the slots are added and there are no additonal cusotmizattions then then the modded weapons work as intended in the tactical game."

I'll try to find some time in the near future to go through the LW2 Mod stuff and figure out what, if anything, needs to be done for this. I haven't had much time to play recently, so I haven't had time to check how this is working with LW2. I'll check on the upgrade stuff... I know I read somewhere that engineering plans might be broken in older weapon mods like this.

It might require a new LW2 friendly mod. I'll try to find time in the weekend to work on this.

really? for me only the first weapon works. after that it stops. nothing comes with mag/plasma
