I finally found the reason the camera angle was so awful
Well thank you for trying.
Hopefully a patch really does fix the bug.
Any update on the camera resetting to the north issue?
The issue is really annoying, having to manually tune the camera position and angle after every turn.
I have tried your suggestions with Classic Camera settings (both of them) but my camera still gets moved to some northern point.
No success in making the bug go away, regardless of battle/campaign camera settings.
1.
The issue only seems to be present when the campaign camera setting is set to "Classic Total War Camera" ("Options->Controls->Campaign Camera").
There's no problem when using the "Standard Total War Camera" setting.
2.
There's no problem if the camera is fully zoomed in before ending a turn.
The issue becomes more noticeable when the camera is moved away from ground level.
3.
Even when my mod is not active the issue is visible:
When the camera is fully zoomed out the camera position will shift to the north in the next turn.
I guess it's a bug/feature introduced in the engine in 1.5.
As my mod uses more extreme camera values than the vanilla version the issue becomes more apparent.
4.
And here's the bad news:
I have tinkered with the camera values a bit and I can't find a solution for the issue at the moment.
Given that this behavior even surfaces in vanilla there is unfortunately only little that I can do.
Any idea why is that happening?
I hope this great addon gets an update.
Love how the Old World looks when I get so high up it seems like the world is rounded like a planet.
This mod as part of that collection and I thought it useful to share this menagerie of companions for anyone interested. I've tested them all with eachother and selected them because they fit very well together as an alternative to an overhaul.

According to the control options menu it should also be possible to increase/decrease rotation speed by pressing SHIFT+PgUp/SHIFT+PgDn but that doesn't seem to work for me on the campaign map.
Anyway, the angle I'd like is the one when you click the "go to" button on an event. It stays at that angle until you try to zoom, then it snaps toward the horizon.
Actually, Is an adjustable campaign camera angle mod possible? That'd be pretty sweet..
So potentially if I put the matched_combat_min_hitpoints_whilst_active 0 and up the other value to say a 60. This might make the kill animation happen more frequently, BUT it might also make the Lord units die quicker. Imagine Grimgor or a well known Lord dying at turn 5! lol
matched_combat_min_hitpoints_to_initiate ->
"Percentage hit points remaining required to initiate matched combat."
matched_combat_min_hitpoints_whilst_active ->
"When taking damage from sources not in the same combat witness, remaining hit points is clamped to this value to prevent entity from dying and prematurely terminating matched combat."
