I too was hoping to find a mod that removed the ROF bonus to AI and found what EyeRuvDumprings was saying on May 31 @ 1:47am interesting that there seems to be no table to mod this setting.
My question is; if we cant remove the ROF bonus all together.. Would it be possible to give the AI a ROF debuff to effectively cancel out the inherent buff they receive?
You've always got the option to play VHard with normal battle difficulty.
Then everything started making sense. Naval battles? They AI ships are machineguns compared to yours. Then I booted up Shogun 2 and sure enough, legendary difficulty the AI shoots faster there too ;p
It might be somewhere, buried, but short of looking through every single field in every file, it doesn't seem to be where it should be.
Then do the same in Attila. Then do the same in Rome 2. Then do the same in Shogun 2.
That has been one of the advantages of higher difficulty since at least Shogun 2. It is well documented, but looks as though it is hard coded. I've modded extensively myself and I've never found the table either.
That doesn't mean it isn't there. It is 100% giving the AI ROF bonuses, and almost certainly accuracy bonuses as well.
There is at least a 15-20% rate of fire increase on very hard, there may also be an accuracy boost (I'm pretty sure there is)
@CHEEEN Yeah its bullshit. Its actually +10 Morale to AI, -5 to the Player, which is even worse.
@Grandmaster B : Not that I know of, going by table which sets difficulty modifiers, there is no such thing.
