thats one of the problems i´m working on.
i would prefer a possibilty to name the new subspecies by user, but thats not possible at the moment. so its only the way with giving a hidden flag to the new species and rename it via event.
actually i´m not happy with the results of my testevents, maybe i´ll find a better way with deeper thinking about it.... :D
Not sure how feasible it is, but with regards to future plans, is it possible to force a modified species to get a new name (neo-[Species] etc.) if only a few pops of the species are altered? Currently any time you modify a species it keeps the original name but is still counted as a new one, except when it is created by the event.
