@hanginout Oh nice great job! Thanks for the info :)
fritz 25 Jan @ 8:11pm
@CrashPilot this bp is still viable! I use it whenever I start on a multiplayer server by swapping the reactor for a hydrogen engine, and build a battery on either side of the atmo thrusters. As soon as I'm out of gravity I build the survival kit and find a spot to scout asteroids. When I have base down, I convert E.J.E.C.T. into my early miner.
CrashPilot  [author] 29 Nov, 2024 @ 7:12pm
@Ace Yeah this is an out-dated blue print. There was never any uranium on planets but you used to land in a large grid lander with a small reactor. Now changed to pods. You can swap out the reactor for a battery and I think it will work.
Ace 28 Nov, 2024 @ 9:34am
No point building the original when planets no longer spawn uranium.
Panda 30 Dec, 2020 @ 2:35pm
@SpaceC it is also possible to build the original but you'll be hunting meteorites for the reactor metals and uranium
CrashPilot  [author] 30 Dec, 2020 @ 8:24am
@Panda - Thanks for the info. I have been meaning to re config and do some testing but never got around to it. Have Fun !
Panda 28 Dec, 2020 @ 4:25am
This is still usable on an earth start, just built a little later. Swap reactor for two batteries, a hydrogen engine fits nice on the underside but loses its sleekness.
vizthex 6 Nov, 2020 @ 11:19pm
I've noticed this doesn't work anymore, and am quite sad.
Being able to convert the pod was nice, but alas isn't possible anymore.

But I still noticed that the ship just doesn't make it to space using the autolaunch. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not powerful enough anymore?

Thankfully though, crashing nose first saves all the important parts in my creative tests (with dampeners on. Not sure if they made a difference though lol).

I do hate the new pods, for awhile they always exploded. But that got fixed. But now, they're still shit....ruins the fun of planets if you can't *do* anything for 1 - 2 days.
CrashPilot  [author] 17 Oct, 2020 @ 9:56pm
This ship also contained all the items onboard the original ship needed to start your base. Medbay, refinery, assembler, etc. The new start pods can never compare and now it takes hours or days to achieve a simple starting base.
CrashPilot  [author] 17 Oct, 2020 @ 9:49pm
@Fish - Yeah sorry you were just replying to R4d6 cuz I never did. Nice job making it to space with the start pod. I was almost going to update this mod with a start pod conversion but it just sucks I think.
Fish 17 Oct, 2020 @ 7:48pm
@SpaceC @R4d6

I know what this was meant for and i remember the old ships, all i said is you can still make it to space with the start pod.
CrashPilot  [author] 17 Oct, 2020 @ 12:33pm
@Fish - Yeah this is an outdated mod. You started with some different (better) ships in the past. Now your stuck with a tiny piece of crap. The start pod can be converted to get to space but when you get there you still have nothing :(. Start at the moon and go to space a lot easier.
Aether 16 Oct, 2020 @ 12:45pm
@Fish, the start pod no longer has the stuff needed to make this thing.

Grinding down the starting vehicule was how you got the mats for it in the first place.
Fish 15 Oct, 2020 @ 7:42pm
R4d6, i mean, just strip down the start pod, slap a gyro/remote control, get some ice, and you can make it to space with the start pod

It has a hydrogen thruster
Aether 16 Jan, 2020 @ 3:03pm
True, but I like the idea of an easy ground-to-orbit, maybe you could redo it to work on the most recent version, without the whole 'Need to be made from the starting lander' challenge?
CrashPilot  [author] 14 Jan, 2020 @ 8:47pm
Sorry, I just dont see any way to update this ship. There is just not enough resources to convert what they give us now. Maybe it can still be built with a battery or two instead of nuke but it would be a big project. This blueprint is pretty much useless now. :(
Aether 14 Jan, 2020 @ 12:44pm
Anyway to update this blueprint for a more recent version?
Royal Raven 11 Mar, 2019 @ 9:44am
In the server though, mostly everyone spawned in space, like before. Thinking it was easy. They were all struggling to get started, they were having to travel far and wide to find everything. It is very luck base up there.
Royal Raven 11 Mar, 2019 @ 9:42am
Yeah I started playing again after Survival update. I went into a server. I wanted to try earthlike planet spawn to try out wind. This was the first time ever for me to spawn on a planet, I usually like space starts.

I found wind to be pretty early game power with some solar. Once I got ice and was able to get hydrogen bottles I went scouting for resources. I found some, most were like 2km away or less. I got everything I needed.
CrashPilot  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 9:05am
@Raven_2012 - Yeah I think so. Maybe some batteries can be built on each side and one in the middle to replace reactor. But I havent tried it, I dont know if its enough power.

I like to start in space and it definitely is harder now. My first MP spawn was right next to some uranium... All resources seem to be hard to find in space. Just what you said, far apart.
Royal Raven 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:18am
Yeah this blueprint might be done. It was a good one, I never got to try it yet. Even when you finally get to space Uranium is hard to find, it is more rare now. I remember long time ago, it was on almost every other asteroid.

I am finding after being in space with new update, from earthlike. Starting in space is a lot harder, I think starting on Earthlike is best, since you don't have to travel far for resources. Then build a second base in space. You can get started a lot faster on earthlike, I can't say for sure the other planets, but planets seem to be a better start.
CrashPilot  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 7:27am
@XPERIUM - Hmm OK thanks a lot for the info. I am just now downloading the new update so I will see what the heck they did. OMG is it done finally... I guess maybe you will have to steal the uranium, or maybe you can take a bunch of H2 bottles and fly up and get some now.

Also if your in like 10x mode it might be able to blast off with no atmos or electric power, and have enough H2 to get to space.
xpe 8 Mar, 2019 @ 5:24am
The Lander has been replaced unfortunately, new one doesn't have uranium.
CrashPilot  [author] 7 Mar, 2019 @ 8:09pm
@XPERIUM - All you need is the uranium that is is the small reactor on board the lander, so save some. If you start from scratch it probably wont work. You might be able to replace the reactor with some batteries, but that is a large reactor in the blueprint and those atmos take a lot of power.
xpe 6 Mar, 2019 @ 9:02am
No longer an option on earth after the survival update since uranium is not available on earth anymore, is there an alternative to the small reactor?
CrashPilot  [author] 20 Jul, 2018 @ 8:37pm
@DRAGONS123410 - No problem thanks a lot :)
Cmd Kay 19 Jul, 2018 @ 11:53am
This is by far the easiest and fastest way to get of a planet; makes life much easier! Thanks!
CrashPilot  [author] 22 Mar, 2018 @ 4:24pm
@R4d6 - One side has a cross and one side has a line. The cross is top and the line is forward in relation to the ship. what you need here is the line facing up cuz you need the ship facing up/forward. I think... I always remember by looking at the little icon, its shows the right way.
Aether 22 Mar, 2018 @ 4:23am
How do you know if the projector is facing up?
Gizombo 18 Nov, 2017 @ 12:46pm
ok thanks
CrashPilot  [author] 5 Nov, 2017 @ 7:12am
@The Drunken Scallywag - They should or they use to. Make sure you grind or delete the temp building block in RED.
Gizombo 4 Nov, 2017 @ 11:59am
is it just me or dont the atmos detatch?
CrashPilot  [author] 3 Aug, 2017 @ 8:27pm
@RunKittensRcoming - COOL THANKS A LOT !!!!!!! :)
flopp 1 Aug, 2017 @ 12:07pm
YOU HAVE MADE MY SPACE ENGINEERS SURVIVAL GAME 100% COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Defi 18 Jan, 2017 @ 6:15am
if you spawn the ship in creative all is fine, if you do it manually in survival it doesnt work, maybe that helps you finding the issue
CrashPilot  [author] 15 Jan, 2017 @ 8:59am
@Defi - Thanks a lot :). Glad to hear it is still working ok. I have heard about the toolbar button issues. I wonder if I update it if it will fix that or if its a new game bug....
Defi 14 Jan, 2017 @ 3:47pm
awsome build, still works, i modified the Eject for 2 players. The preset Keybindings dont work anymore, but you can use it manually. Thx for this awsome build!
CrashPilot  [author] 10 Dec, 2016 @ 9:00am
@reaperlowe - Yeah this game just keeps getting better and better. Just above this text is the setup for the toolbar setup. I dont remember the timer blocks. They are part of the auto eject system which you dont really need.
reaperlowe 10 Dec, 2016 @ 8:42am
Also had to setup hotbar
reaperlowe 10 Dec, 2016 @ 8:41am
One small issue, all the timer blocks are blank and have nkow real idea what they should be setup to do - Help?
CrashPilot  [author] 23 Sep, 2016 @ 9:03am
@spiritplumber[FUG] - Thanks a lot :) I have been playing some KSP lately.
spiritplumber 23 Sep, 2016 @ 4:37am
This is the most kerbal thing I've seen today. Awesome!
NordicBeast 5 Sep, 2016 @ 10:44am
No worries, thanks for the very creative ship! I ended up dying on the moon without a medbay, had to fly the whole 250km flight around the planet to the moon again to find the Eject. Once I returned, the Eject was easy to turn into a base witht he extra steel plates I took. Again, great work!
CrashPilot  [author] 5 Sep, 2016 @ 8:10am
@NordicBeast - Great job I'm glad it worked out OK. Thanks a lot and thanks for the info.
NordicBeast 4 Sep, 2016 @ 11:11pm
I built this on a survival server I'm playing on, launched from a planet since theres no platnium on planets, turns out there was no asteroids on in the server! So now I'm heading from 150km from the surface of a planet, to the other side where the moon is all in your EJECT. Great little ship, it'll allow me to last on the moon, build a base and go from there. Great work!
Though you should know, when building it from a projection, all the tool bar didn't set up right, so I just launched manually, worked just fine.
Calzone 23 Aug, 2016 @ 10:17am
All good :^D
CrashPilot  [author] 19 Aug, 2016 @ 9:19pm
@Cal/Enginegrease - Sorry about the late response and Thanks a Lot :)
Calzone 25 Jul, 2016 @ 6:02pm
It actually does have a Stage to go through, nj.
CrashPilot  [author] 25 Jul, 2016 @ 6:49am
@eMYNOCK (MadHwK) - Wow great job! Thanks a lot and you are very welcome.
eMYNOCK 23 Jul, 2016 @ 9:17pm

Additionally:

We are still using our first and only for a whole Month now, it has seen the Earthlike, the Moon and our Custom Marslike.

It was involved into the Capturing of a Private Sail, a Commercial Freighter and was nearly Destroyed during the Capture of our (in the meantime heavy Modified) Flaggship.. an Argentavis.

Once again, a big thank you for your flawless initial Blueprint.
