I very much second Portgas D. Ace. One of the things that constantly pissed me off was seeing units constantly change to grey goop as I admired battles.

It would be so nice to have this mod for Rome II and especially for Attila, cause they look ok at best. (Attilas lod is really crappy ... ) Maybe u could get it to work for both of these, would be much apreciated. Anyway nice mod and thanks for the effort!

I don't think the range at which the imposter models appear can be modified, sorry Gaudium.

About making versions for attilla and rome... I wasted several hours trying to find the line where the imposter models are located to no avail. I haven't had time enough to check everything and find the right place but I will at some point.... hopefully

@cbdeakin yes, it just removes those entries which are the imposter (low-poly, ugly as fuck) models. I'm sure animation LODs must be there somewhere, too, but sadly I havent had enough time to check it yet :(

Hey man can you make a version of this mod for Attila? I've always hated how the units look when you zoom out. The rise of Mordor mod hopfully comes out next year and I want to enjoy that.

This is a nice graphics improvement! I hope someone makes a mod that fixes the animations as well. If performance isn't good, the animation LOD could be set to low for all units.

I took a look at the lod_final2 pack file. I'm guessing how this mod works is that is removes all entries under low_poly_filename? Does the mod include units from all DLC if so? I noticed that the LOD changes when I had Chaos Warriors with Great Weapons (I see their animations change).

Hello, if it is possible to remove LOD, is it possible to enforce it?
I find myself most of the time giving orders overtop not really looking into the fights.
I would appreciate the extra performance since 4 vs 4 lords is pretty crazy.

Jake, it's honestly not a terribly good idea to ask someone whether this or that will lag when there are differences even within practically identical rigs. Your best bet is probably to give it a try and uninstall the mod if it doesn't work out for ya.

It will lag a bit, yeah, but lately I've been noticing that I'm lagging basically the same with the low poly models. Try doing a custom battle to see if your rig can manage it.

i have a radeon RX480 8 gig graphics card with 16 gigs of ram and a 970motherboard pro gamin aura (asus) will my machine lag like hell with this mod? i can usually have 2 or 3v3 large army scale battles which sometimes loses a little bit of frames but not always and not constant just like minor hick ups here and there with laaarge battles going on.

Sadly both mods modify the same table, so they will conflict unless someone makes a mod that has the two modifications compiled. I can't right now due to lack of time, but tell the other mod author that he can feel free to add this mod to his' in a sub-mod or something, what I did was just removing the "low-poly" model for every unit in the game so it won't load imposter models.

GhOst, one of your mods probably changes the startposition files. That's the main reason players are experiencing crashes or not having the new DLC factions show up. The mod in question should mention startpos. in the description. I've had no conflicts with this one, and still great performance on a medium build, thx OBIPPO.

Any chance for a version with just the empire demigryphs and vc bat swarm animation lods removed? The demigryphs especially really hurt the eyes, haha. I think other than that most of the units are actually pretty fine.

@OBIPPO already done that. The problem is the textures. The tarp was never meant to be removed, while it works at close range.
Medium to long range gives the horses that darn tarp...

You just need to go to data -> db -> variants_tables

Third column here (unknown 3) has all the low lod models, you just have to delete everything that ends with "_lowlod" and leave the cell blank. This way the game won't load the low poly model even if you are far away. Hope that works ;]
