PS, if you're willing to do a kind of large level for an #F4F, could you check out my new Save the Cube, Kill the Turrets ?

It's large in size, but I think it goes pretty quickly once you see what you're trying to do.

Nice one! I had to mumble to myself as I worked... "Okay, now I can get from there to there, but I need that over there... etc." :-)

I was worried that I had to do some kind of tricky angled shot, aiming my laser diagonally from the white floor surface. Glad it wasn't that. And I enjoyed the level!

Thanks.

Couldn't figure the solution to that last hurdle out until I read the comment mentioning that you have to think outside the box. Great test chamber with an amazing logic approach.

had to think for a few minutes, good job!
Try mine if you want:

This puzzle is simple structure but your brain's mechanism won't be that simple. Great job,boy ;)

Excellent puzzle. Took me a bit to figure out that last step. Kudos. Difficulty 8/10 Design 10/10

Thanks, personally I think this is my best room. I'm glad how it turned out
Le Petit Mort 29 May, 2012 @ 9:37pm
Took me a bit longer to get this one than I'd like to admit! Sequincing of portal is important on this one; great work!
5-bit Angel 27 May, 2012 @ 3:27am
This level is absolutely fantastic!
Malidictus 26 May, 2012 @ 3:29am
Huh... Imagine that. You're right. Objection withdrawn. Well, with that sorted, the turrets aren't much of a problem, then.
Ladicuis  [author] 26 May, 2012 @ 2:31am
@Malidictus, you don't have to actually do that you can deactivate the fizzler walk past it with the cube and then shoot the portal with the laser.
Spaggbol 26 May, 2012 @ 2:13am
great map took me more then 20 mins to get it
Malidictus 25 May, 2012 @ 3:51pm
This seems impossible until you realise you can caim a cube before you shoot a beam into it. Still, can't say I'm a fan. The turrets seem largely pointless and I had to squeeze through a hole with a laser shooting through it a few times, which I really dislike.
Arcana Prime 22 May, 2012 @ 7:22pm
Wow, I finally got it. I'll confess I had an idea on what to do, but it took me longer than 20 minutes to figure it out. Very nice, tight puzzle. I am pretty sure there are no exploits left. Believe me, I tried. Nice job.
Geneosis 21 May, 2012 @ 11:47am
Well, if you have time, try another of my levels ;) (those with a few comments especially)
Ladicuis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 11:42am
I know :-D that was my thoughts when I made it, and cool visuals.
Geneosis 21 May, 2012 @ 11:40am
Yeah, maybe...
Anyway, when you can't cheat it, this is a really good level for the "think different" style ^^
In fact if you examine patiently the screenshot, this is really close to the solution X)
Ladicuis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 11:33am
Yep, you got it! I put the turret there the same way you did the cube for the screenshot , but if I put the turret there in the real level I think the effect of looking through the glass when the lights go on is gone.
Geneosis 21 May, 2012 @ 11:19am
I finally got it! Took me a loooong time but I think I got the expected way :p (tried to cheat but didn't work...)

Here is the SPOILER screenshot .

Oh... and I just realise that there was a turret here on your screenshot XD But sadly not in the real level ^^"
Ladicuis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 10:36am
Thanks for the feedback, please try again and see if you can find the real solution and/or break it :)
Geneosis 21 May, 2012 @ 8:37am
I suppose that I could have burnt every turret with the lazer ^^" Exccept the one on a white block, but this one is easy ;)
And for the real solution : I was thinking about finding a way to get the cube on the other side of the glass, then redirect the lazer so that it hit the cube... But I got stuck and found the cheated way :p
Ladicuis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 8:22am
1: There's an easier solution, but you can always ninja them. Might be harder when the wall is painted black since you can't hit the one in the water then.
2: That's not the intended solution, thanks for pointing out. guess ill have to paint that wall black because the real solution is cool imo.

guess these exploits are more important then looks xD
Geneosis 21 May, 2012 @ 7:45am
So... I did it but I'm absolutely not sure if it was an exploit or the expected solution XD
First for the turrets I killed them both by dropping lazer cube on them, bruning the others and make the las one fall into a portal ^^
Then for the finish, I'm quasi sure this is an exploit : Here is the screenshot of how I activated the final lazer reciever
Ladicuis  [author] 18 May, 2012 @ 11:30am
New version uploaded
- turrets are less messy
- fixed quick exit bypass
- added screenshot
Acunil 17 May, 2012 @ 4:12pm
Exactly. I knew what I had to do within 2 minutes, working out how took 20.
Ladicuis  [author] 17 May, 2012 @ 3:50pm
I think the cubes end position is symbolic too, in a way ;-)
Acunil 17 May, 2012 @ 3:48pm
I agree. The turrets' presence makes you initially stop and look in from the obs room, establishing said room as a safe place literally and psychologically.
Ladicuis  [author] 17 May, 2012 @ 3:43pm
Thank you, I do want the turrets in however. I like them, i might put in a extra glass panel to make the turrets less messy to kill. And I probably need to restyle the laser/cube room as I'm not totally happy with it.
Acunil 17 May, 2012 @ 3:15pm
Quite the brain teaser, took about 20min. Killing the sentries was the only messy thing on an otherwise pristine map. When the answer hit me it was a proper "Ooooooh Shhhhhiiiit" moment. Actually had to think OUTSIDE the box. :P
