Additional Huge Jet added to provide stability and increase speed slightly
Tweaked LUA:
Should disengage rather than spending time orbiting the target
Should have a slightly higher chance to dodge missiles
Should change over more smoothly from rolling into yawing. though this is still occuring and not having much luck fixing it
Modified flairs - now bigger, still dont seem to be detering those IR seekers too well though.
Added Smoke launchers to act as "Chaff" when laser targeted
Tweaked cockpit shap using new 3 length blocks
Rotated missile gantries to improve missile launch
Replaced guidance fin with additional Sabot body for GAU rounds - will have to see if this works out
Sidewinders now use an additional fin to improve agility and use ejectors to prevent missiles bouncing off the wings- Good results so far
Additional heavy armour plates on the tail section wher it almost always gets hit by missiles
BTW, 1 on 1 testing doesnt really tell you much unless youre planning on running the campaign with just one ship. Try adding something to tank the damage and let it do its job of supporting.
Belt fed autos are useful for rapid fire guns that have to be packed into a very small space, (check out the Glen Avons machine gun turrets above the paddle wheels). They normally have few compnents but achieve a high fire rate for a decent sustain time, then have to reload for a long time... they will never be a GAU, but you can make some nice rapid fire guns from them
The reason the GAU doesnt have clips is that it only needs to fire a short burst and then circles round for another pass, by which time each auto loader has another shell in. so 25 auto loaders equals a 25 round burst before a (comparatively) long reload. At max fire rate, the gun would not be able to unload much more than 25 shells without ALOT more cooling ang significant accuracy penalties, so adding clips would be pointless, and changing the 25 autoloaders for 3 or 4 belt fed with clips would add the clip-to-autoloader time into the equation and slow things down further.
I dont think the GAU would make a good AA gun, check this ship out for some AA examples.

Some of the missiles now switched to radar guided to more reliably attack the main target
Laser designator moved onto targeting pod
Bear in mind that block size is 1m, which means it is impossible to make most of these planes to scale, so the gun sizes also need to increase
Why is The Avenger Not a 30mm Sabot?
I'm not american so i don't care about it
S-3 Viking is now available also
