The fortification in rome 2 and testudo formation are an insult to the roman empire.
REGNATOR  [author] 25 Jan, 2018 @ 2:32am
CA messed up big time with the upgrade you mentioned. This results that I was forced to make a new mod playable with the new patch. I suggest you play with this new patch, and in this case the mod here is indeed no longer valuable. I have created a new mod, doing about the same thing. Visit my workshop and there you should find the mod you reqested (Fortifications Empire Divided Compatible). If you use the "Fortifications part two", it should still be compatible (this mod will give you structures that are hard to be demolished, very hard barricades). Please notice that you need to uncheck the orriginal "Fortifications mod" when the game should crash.

Sorry to confuse you. I mean the hot-fix around December 18th.
REGNATOR  [author] 24 Jan, 2018 @ 12:01pm
Please, don't tell me I have to make another version....! Please tell me more about that 'hot-fix patch' if you want to. I'm loosing myself in updating my mods (tons of work), and then it seems like another version is launched that I'm not aware about? Please tell me more about your comment
Blade 24 Jan, 2018 @ 3:37am
Hello, author. Are you still going to update this for the latest hot-fix patch several days ago?
Thank you.

NEW SUB MOD AVAILABLE FOR "EMPIRE DIVIDED".
You can find it in my workshop items.
REGNATOR  [author] 18 Dec, 2017 @ 4:06pm
The options are meagre to nothing: you can add 'custom' fortifications, but they can only be derived from existing ones. For example, which I did with the barricades, you can create an existing sort of fortification and alter its features, like resistance to certain forces (burned down, run down,...), but nothing else. The thing is that there are no models (of which I know off) available to create things like towers that fire upon the enemy (had a real bad headache searching for such, the same for actual walls where units can be put upon)
Wolf King 18 Dec, 2017 @ 3:31pm
is there anyway to add new custom modelled fortifications?
REGNATOR  [author] 18 Dec, 2017 @ 2:54pm
To Wolf King:
I've seen and tested mods that add walls to minor settlements and, I must say, it's a total srew up. The thing is that the PC will generate the nearest (walled) city instead. this gives the problem that when you assault an inland settlement the PC will show you the (walled) city near by. I 've done this in my mod "Saguntum and Emporion", where it didn't matter. Test showed "Saguntum" to be walled, like "Emporion" (both on the eastern sea side of the Iberian Peninsula) and that was OK. On a test run with mods that provide walled minor settlements I came up with inland towns that suddenly appeared to be located at a coast line. This is the main reason I came up with this mod. With the "fortifications part 2" you can drag your own 'wall like' fortifications as you like. These new fortifications are not indestructible, but tests have shown that you can concentrate troops to one side and still have enough time to fight of the once that are trying to breach the 'new walls'.
Icecoldeyes 17 Dec, 2017 @ 5:11am
Ok, thanx, keep it up!
Wolf King 16 Dec, 2017 @ 7:26pm
like replacing the loading map itself
Wolf King 16 Dec, 2017 @ 7:25pm
theres no way to use a generic city map or the fortification map to add walls to towns?
REGNATOR  [author] 16 Dec, 2017 @ 1:48pm
Walls cannot be added to minor settlements, that's why I created the "Fortifications part 2" mod, wich give you some 'hard' fortifications that are very, very strong. You can use these as a "wall". The reason I created these new fortifications in a sepperate mod is because some people wish to play without these "walls"
Icecoldeyes 15 Dec, 2017 @ 4:52am
Hi REGNATOR, could you please add (optional) walls to ALL minor settlements as well?
Thanks.
Wolf King 6 Dec, 2017 @ 8:43pm
good luck with updating your mod! i hope it works!!!
PROMETHEUS 4 Dec, 2017 @ 2:17am
Thanks.
REGNATOR  [author] 3 Dec, 2017 @ 6:04pm
As the new DLC 'Empire Divided' uses a brand new building line, it could take some time to get this mod working with this new DLC. I'm working very hard to make this mod compatible with this new DLC. I hope you understand that this could take a while.
REGNATOR  [author] 3 Dec, 2017 @ 5:59pm
The newest upgrade of Creative Assembly is rather drastic. This is why all around the community modders are working very hard to keep their mods working as they did before. Many tables have been changed. The changes, made by Creative Assembly, forces modders around the world to alter their mods, which in some cases could take some time. I can only hope for you, subscribers, to have a little patience. I'm working very hard to get my mods to be compatible with the newest 'patch/DLC'. The upgrades should be launched by 16th of DECEMBER.
Sefe 1 Dec, 2017 @ 8:29am
Could you update it for Power & Politics patch?
PROMETHEUS 24 Nov, 2017 @ 6:54am
Does this work in the Caesar Campaign ? Couse I don't seem to have seen it?

very good idea
REGNATOR  [author] 11 Jan, 2017 @ 10:54pm
You can always try with Radious, I suppose there won't be a conflict. For Divide and Impera you will need to download the version I created for DeI. You can easily find it in my workshop.
OwedEvil 5 Jan, 2017 @ 10:43am
I assume this is strictly for Vanilla and any mods that alter garrisons, such as Radious and Divide et Impera, will not be compatible. Is that true?
Harper 29 Nov, 2016 @ 8:03am
Regnator, Thanks for mod! I have used now for 2 campaigns (as Rome and Iceni in GC), works great.
Skadvang 1 Nov, 2016 @ 11:15am
Alright. I was just curious :)
Thanks for replying!
REGNATOR  [author] 1 Nov, 2016 @ 5:58am
I certainly would love to, but I don't think it's even possible (yet) to create such maps. I am not familiar with maps and I don't think I have the right tools to make such. I also think that those ditches you talked about would have to be a 'structure' (like boulders) and that is something I cannot create for the game.
Skadvang 29 Oct, 2016 @ 1:02pm
Heyo Regnator!
I was wondering, since your skills with mods is as sharp as Achilles' blade, if you make battle maps as well. Or something that makes the fortifications of a camp more realistic to the nation's army. The Romans, for instance, had far better defensive tactics (ditches in front of the walls in-or excluding stakes) and walls on which man could actually stand, plus a fort on a hill when possible; unlike most of the Barbarian nations.
So I was wondering if you could do something like this; make encampment more suitable for the nation the army belongs to :)
As for this mod, I'm eager to try it out!
REGNATOR  [author] 11 Oct, 2016 @ 1:10pm
The defenses work as all other in game. You simply select them and drag them where you want them to be placed. As usual, the defensive structures cannot be placed in some areas like boulders or when another structure is in its path. I don't think you're missing something. You can test the defenses in a custom battle, for part 2, the new heavy barricades are added as well.
YouMustBeMythtaken 11 Oct, 2016 @ 12:41pm
How do you set the defenses up? I have the mod and part two downloaded, I build the fortifications thing, but once on the battle map I have a huge list of deployables and no way to drop them. What am I missing?
REGNATOR  [author] 10 Sep, 2016 @ 10:00am
No, not at all and it never could. The creators of DeI use a different building path. That is why I created a separate mod for DeI users. The mod looks the same, but has the DeI-logo in the mod picture. You can find this mod in my workshop items.
=[El Assesino]= 8 Sep, 2016 @ 7:58am
sure it is competible with DEI?
REGNATOR  [author] 30 Aug, 2016 @ 5:36pm
The fortifications are only available when you build them in your settlement. It should be compatible with all mods, except Divide et Impera, for which I created another version.
Bobo_De_Turno 30 Aug, 2016 @ 3:17am
Well, I would like a bit of help. I don't know if I have any incompatible mod or something but I don't see any fortifications in my cities when defending them. I thought that I would have some deployables or something to defend them. I've seen a building that I had never seen before (Months have passed since I played this game so it could be a new building, so I don't know if it is part of the mod) which adds some fortifications to the settlement in which is built. Is the mod working? Is that building part of the mod and the only way of having fortifications? Or something is happening and I cannot use them?
Thank you, I'm waiting for the response.
By the way, the mods that I'm using:
-4 turns per year
-Better blood textures for Blood & Gore DLC
-Kill animations overhaul
-More skills for your leaders and characters
-Valuable veterans
REGNATOR  [author] 26 Aug, 2016 @ 5:53am
The barricades in this mod are very realistic. In the mod 'Fortifications part 2' the "heavy barricades" act as a kind of destructable wall. If you don't like them, then play with only this mod. I am most certainly not going to launch several variants of this mod, because my Mod Manager is already overfull. I hope you understand. The vanilla barricades were only a small twig that stood in the enemies path, that is why I increased their power to hold the enemy for a short while.
Firelock 25 Aug, 2016 @ 10:35pm
Hi, can you make a version of this mod that ONLY adds additional fortifications of the vanilla style for the unfortified small towns?
Harper 20 Aug, 2016 @ 8:58pm
Great mod. I was pleasantly surprised when the additional defences showed up in my ambush defences as well, which took place near one of my eastern front towns (Galic, I believe).

Any tips on how to make one turn compatible would be appreciated. Once again, thanks for the mod.
[*VGS*] Italian Player -NIS- 20 Aug, 2016 @ 2:03pm
Thank you for your quick response, there is no problem; these mods are already excellent, though I'll want to customize it I will personally resistance statistics. Thanks again.
REGNATOR  [author] 20 Aug, 2016 @ 1:39pm
(following my previous)
Unfortunately, I cannot answer to your request, because I am very occupied with other mods I am willing to create and, besides the enormous amount of time I am going to spend about them, I am also running out of space in my Mod Manager. You can, however, create your own variant of the 'fortifications part 2' if you want to. Contact me if you don't know how to do it, I will surely explain you how to do so.
REGNATOR  [author] 20 Aug, 2016 @ 1:27pm
I created the heavy barricades separately, because other users think they are not realistic enough (although, if you can build a concrete wall, you most certainly can build these barricades, see them as a wall, not a wooden pile up). Anyway, the usual barricades are already strengthened (more than 10 x vanilla strength) and I promised I wouldn't strengthen them more. The strategy with the heavy barricades is that you hold up the enemy at one point, so you can concentrate your forces at another point, and they really do their trick ! If I would make all barricades about the same strength, then the strategic game play will be gone.
[*VGS*] Italian Player -NIS- 20 Aug, 2016 @ 7:01am
Congratulations for the nice mod. I ask if you can enter here a heavy barricade similar to your AVE: fortifications part 2.pack, with statistics not much different from those vanilla or still lower than your other mod. Thanks in advance.
REGNATOR  [author] 19 Aug, 2016 @ 6:39am
The fortifications are now only available for the owning faction and no longer for all factions in the region (command line was wrong and should now be fixed)
Harper 15 Aug, 2016 @ 11:42am
Thanks, I will try at start of next campaign.
Crimson Sky Dux 28 Jul, 2016 @ 9:16am
Seems interesting. I will give it a try.
χρ Drange 27 Jul, 2016 @ 7:23am
screenshots please?
Drkilljoy91 26 Jul, 2016 @ 9:14am
by add pic i mean pictures of the mod working in game
REGNATOR  [author] 26 Jul, 2016 @ 8:56am
To Hired Gun: when you download the mod, the fortifications will be added, even for an old savegame. Once you have continued your campaign with this mod, you cannot play further without it. If you wish to test this mod, then I suggest you copy your savegame first, so that you won't loose it.
REGNATOR  [author] 26 Jul, 2016 @ 8:52am
To Dr Killjoy91: I am willing to help you, but I don't know what you mean by "adding pic in game"
REGNATOR  [author] 26 Jul, 2016 @ 8:51am
To Leuname: I have tried to add defensive towers, but failed in this. I've spent days on it, but, unfortunately, I cannot find a way to add them to the fortifications. I've tried to make a modification of deployables and deployable siege engines, to create these towers, but it just doesn't work. If anyone knows how to add towers for a minor settlement (without adding enormous walls), please let me know and I shall add them to the mod.
