@jandlml: Well that was probably unintended (and I guess lfairban did the same...) not sure if I still have the original file of the map to fix it though...
jandlml 20 May, 2018 @ 7:10pm
wasnt sure your intended first move. hit a portal some how under the pistons or do what i did and just drop onto the moveable panel :steamhappy:
lfairban 17 Nov, 2017 @ 12:47pm
Tricky jump at the start.
Picton 26 Oct, 2013 @ 3:27pm
This was quite a good little puzzle. Interesting idea to have the portalable surfaces underneath the pistons. Other than that I just rode the platforms to the exit like Yavie. Overall though a quite fun map.

I'd appreciate if you could try out my newest chamber: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=189002572

I second Reiman's comments about the cube not staying on the button. Really had me hunting around for some timing trick that wasn't to be found.
Geneosis  [author] 27 Dec, 2012 @ 12:45pm
@yavie : You did it right ^^ I suppose I rated it as Medium only because the first portal placement is not really intuitive ;) Once you figured that out, the way to the exit is easy.
Yavie 27 Dec, 2012 @ 12:22pm
Since I was able to do it easily, I'd say "medium" difficulty is overrated - most of your maps I can't even finish lol! The only difficulty was spamming a portal, for me. The rest was intuitive. Although now that I'm reading the comments... I didn't even notice there was a cube! Wondering if I did something wrong now. Spammed a portal under the first room pistons, walked through, did the various moving platforms until I came around to the exit door... Did I miss a step?

Thanks again for the walkthrough ;)

@Reiman : Yeah, I already planned to fix that, but never played again yet XD
Rei 11 Dec, 2012 @ 1:03pm
Well, nice to have to get to the idea to use the white walls below the Pistons.
But in the first run, the frankencube didn't want to stay at the switch and I stuck. Made me restart the map - making me not very happy. Why so complicated and not just simply a companion dispenser above it? The next update is imperatively to come immediately! Here a suggestion to keep your design: make a second hidden button, that works for sure and triggers the plate, no matter what the frankencube does - et Voilà ^_^ #F4F
Geneosis  [author] 11 Nov, 2012 @ 2:03pm
Hem, I know that... Now you say it, I really don't know why the hell I placed a Franken Cube here and not a normal cube XD Maybe for the design... Anyway, I will think about changing that in the next update ^^
8MMW 11 Nov, 2012 @ 5:08am
That was a good map, especialy the trick in the first part ;)
One thing that stopped me for a while was that the franken cube didn't fall exactly on the button, but slipped out of it. After a quickload everything worked good though. These cube-button mechanisms are not completely reliable and fail rarely from time to time. I always use them them with funnel to be sure.
Geneosis  [author] 6 Sep, 2012 @ 10:21am
Cube buttons?? Where?
carol 6 Sep, 2012 @ 10:20am
Hmm - unrequired cube buttons were a mean distraction! Nice design.
Geneosis  [author] 13 Aug, 2012 @ 5:53am
Yep, the main part of the puzzle is the first room ^^ Then I just improvised a way to reach the exit easily ;)
La Petite Magicienne 13 Aug, 2012 @ 4:26am
The fist room is very nive and mechanical ! but i didn't really understood the second part, just pressing buttons and leave. Love design
Geneosis  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:03am
@Bbeoggjay2 : Did you try to jump in the acid pit to reach the moving platform? -_- Because if so that was not at all the idea ^^"
1980 7 Aug, 2012 @ 7:19am
The timing and catching the moving platform in the 2nd room was a bit annoying, but things went smooth after that. Much enjoyable :D
mood3rd 26 Jul, 2012 @ 1:59pm
just had another go & used the correct method.
it's tricky portaling the area under the pistons.
but not as hard as jumping onto the moving piston from above :)
Geneosis  [author] 26 Jul, 2012 @ 1:52pm
Well this is in description : The solution is not to jump into acid XD I don't use to lie into my descriptions, do I?
mood3rd 26 Jul, 2012 @ 1:38pm
glug, glug, glug.
nuro toxin tastes like chicken.
I did not notice the portals under the pistons.
so went for a refreshing swim,
5 times.
then made it to the moving piston.
I even got off the final piston, facing the wrong way.
walked a little, thinking now what ?
then lookrd behind me, eurika.
talk about me making life difficult for myself.
forget cubes, can you do a map with a guide dog please ?
Baadrix 21 Jul, 2012 @ 7:19am
There's a clever trick to it, easy to execute, but hard to find (at first at least).
Ebbzylon 3 Jul, 2012 @ 3:19pm
Short and sweet. Thumb up.
Le Petit Mort 3 Jul, 2012 @ 8:13am
Tried and succeeded! Booyah!
mechtakendall 1 Jul, 2012 @ 5:28pm
Nice use of pistons, unique map. Simple and fun. Difficulty 3/10 Design 7/10
Geneosis  [author] 22 Jun, 2012 @ 3:00am
XD Did you try to reach the moving platform by jumping in the acid pit?
Le Petit Mort 21 Jun, 2012 @ 5:51pm
Map was made significantly more enjoyable upon realizing that my Epic Jump of Awesomeness wasn't actually nescessary; clever stuff.
Geneosis  [author] 28 May, 2012 @ 1:57pm
@Tairs : Thanks ^^ And about the last part as said precedently I just improvised a way to escape... But i wanted my beautiful pit of acid :p
Tairs 28 May, 2012 @ 1:36pm
Loved this map. I had just as much fun messing around in the first room aimlessly as I did completing it. I don't think the second room needs any further risk of death since it's not the main concept.
MoonAcE 24 May, 2012 @ 3:15am
yeah but u could improve that a bit if u add a little bit, like laser or turrets
Geneosis  [author] 23 May, 2012 @ 1:54pm
Well the aim of the map is just to make the player think about an issue for the first part ;) Then I just improvised a way to go out using some moving pannels :p
MoonAcE 23 May, 2012 @ 1:29pm
nice map and especially the start was epic, but after that the big room was a little bit easy, there could be improvment
Abstract 21 May, 2012 @ 7:45am
Ah, then i'm glad I managed to do it!
Geneosis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 4:33am
@Ladicuis & Copypaste5 Will try your maps later in the journey ;)
Geneosis  [author] 21 May, 2012 @ 4:33am
@Abstract Yes, in fact this is exactly the expected solution XD
I added the wall pannel to avoid that players try to ninja-jump directly from the east platform to the end one ^^"
So in fact you don't have to jump if you do it in the correct order X)
Ladicuis 21 May, 2012 @ 12:07am
@Abstract isn't that the real solution then? I thought so.
Abstract 20 May, 2012 @ 8:58pm
Hi geneosis, I second copypaste5s comment about portaling under the pistons . Unfortunatly I believe there is an exploit in your map as I got to the end without using various elements of the level that I could see through some glass panes. My solution was to take the west side rail platform and push the button at the far end there. This moved the north side rail platform over to the east and also flattened the glass panel against the wall . I was therefore able to simply take the east side rail platform and ride it safely to the north and win!

I hope I was clear and that you found it helpful. I think the map will be great!
Ladicuis 20 May, 2012 @ 1:38pm
Oh lol. reading copypaste's coment i realize you didn't have to ninja the first jump :-)
That was my only downside but it was me missing out on the function of the first room.
I'd like some more feedback on this map: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=72375080
Meow++ 20 May, 2012 @ 9:51am
I liked it. I suck at jumping from platform to platform, luckily we have f6 to save, butmy favorite part of this map is the very beginning with the portal walls under the piston, very clever.
you should try out my map
