If you ever work on this again, I think that sleeping in a bed or sitting in a chair should pause hunger.
Xaytan 26 Nov, 2020 @ 3:40pm
Big sad, FU's spheres have apparently been changed enough to break this mod.
Brandon 24 Mar, 2019 @ 3:03am
I am so sorry *bow down*
Brandon 28 Feb, 2019 @ 12:21pm
somehow I not afk because I watching are family dog and where I come back my hunger got down little fast
Foxen 1 Dec, 2017 @ 10:07am
Cool, cool. Thanks, no hurry. =3
zeroghost  [author] 30 Nov, 2017 @ 6:59pm
Hi Foxen, sorry to hear that, likely means the RPG mod modifies the vanilla tech files, which would break Stasis... I will take a closer look at the code once the big Starbound 1.4 update drops. :zero:
Foxen 30 Nov, 2017 @ 10:15am
Stasis does not work with the RPG mod Wizard class 'Gravity Sphere'
[DBH].Whismerhill.{SSgt} 12 Oct, 2017 @ 9:28pm
apart from missions or challenges (where it might not be possible to place a bed at will), sleeping puts the player in hunger pause
Hopalongtom 11 Sep, 2017 @ 8:42am
A Life saver for multiplayer, in singleplayer I can just pause, but if anyone just hops into my game, I'll starve to death, so I've taken it as habit to morph before going afk now! ^_^
zeroghost  [author] 15 Jul, 2017 @ 4:39pm
Ah ok, that is a good troubleshooting step. Can't tell if you encountered mod corruption or a mod conflict when two or mods change the same files. Purging like that forces Starbound to clear its cache per sey. I will keep an eye out for others encountering this same issue as well as perform further testing. Thank you for using AFK. :zero:
Nasty Peep 15 Jul, 2017 @ 4:07pm
To be specific, what I had to do was close the game, unsubscribe from your AFK mod, launch the game so that the AFK mod is erased, then close the mod down again, resubscribe, and launch one more time.

Thank you Birb for following up. That does make sense. The code that freezes hunger as far as I can tell, has to be in the vanilla sphere files to be executed. When you activate a sphere tech, it activates my code, freezing hunger. Modded sphere tech files would not have my code/function. I have had a few requests to see if I can get Stasis to work with any sphere tech. Ill do some digging and see if I can find a component of the tech system that both vanilla and mod tech spheres share. That's the challange.

I have noticed when modding that somtimes the game has to be restarted one or two times before my mod code loads after a change. Not sure under the hood how all Starbound loads and unloads code. Glad to hear things are working better for you. :zero:
Nasty Peep 15 Jul, 2017 @ 4:13am
Unsubscribing then restarting the game and subscribing again seems to have fixed it. I wonder if using modded spheres just turns the AFK off?
Nasty Peep 15 Jul, 2017 @ 4:10am
I don't know if this is relevant, but I did finally try using a new sphere tech in the Frackin Universe Mod (the bomb dropping distortion sphere) and I eventually switched back to using good old regular vanilla spike sphere. That was when I noticed the AFK was no longer working. I might nto be shocked if somehow the FU tech's cause the AFK to not work, but I'm confused as to why suddenly the vanilla sphere isn't AFKing
zeroghost  [author] 13 Jul, 2017 @ 7:12am
Hi Birb, thank you for bringing this to my attention, I am investigating. It seems that Steam Workshop is downloading my mod but not placing it in the Starbound mod folder. Trying to determine if this is specific to the Stasis mod or if there is an issue between Starbound and downloading any new mod. :zero:
Nasty Peep 13 Jul, 2017 @ 1:06am
This mod doesn't seem to function anymore. I have it installed, I use spike ball, and hunger still drains.
Memes 10 Jun, 2017 @ 5:56pm
oh nvm
Memes 10 Jun, 2017 @ 5:56pm
hey can I use this with the crab morph or do I have to use the vanilla spheres?
zeroghost  [author] 8 Jun, 2017 @ 11:54pm
Fixed Stasis to work with Starbound 1.3 - Spacefarer Update. Thanks for using Stasis :zero:
Staren 8 Jun, 2017 @ 5:52pm
@Grandma Can confirm it is this mod
Nasty Peep 8 Jun, 2017 @ 2:28pm
Not sure if this is the mod that's causing it, but after 1.3, I can't use head techs anymore
warmainiac 6 Apr, 2017 @ 2:38pm
that does not answer my question compleatly because their is this one mod that has a sphere that goes super fast and runs on water and goes high when jumping
zeroghost  [author] 5 Apr, 2017 @ 9:14pm
Hi Warmainiac, this mod works with all vanilla Starbound sphere techs. As long as another mod does not change out the vanilla sphere tech files there's a good chance Stasis will work. However, Stasis is only triggered when one of the vanilla sphere techs are used. If a sphere mod completly bypasses those vanilla tech files Stasis will not trigger. :zero:
warmainiac 5 Apr, 2017 @ 5:13pm
does this thing work with all spheres, INCLUDING MODDED! (there is a slime sphere mod for slime race)
CybieDeemun 21 Feb, 2017 @ 11:39pm
You don't lose hunger while sleeping tho.
ImMadeOfNinjas 19 Feb, 2017 @ 1:48am
Not this mod, it seems...
ImMadeOfNinjas 18 Feb, 2017 @ 9:55am
For some reason, I appear to be unable to complete the Distortion Sphere trial. I don't seem to have it equipped when I enter the test chamber. Yes, I checked my keybinds, nothing's out of place.
Mikhail Haigen 13 Oct, 2016 @ 8:46pm
Thanks for your answer! Anyway its a great mod, I'm pretty enjoy it :D
zeroghost  [author] 13 Oct, 2016 @ 8:26pm
Hi Ark♪ I have not specifically tested the effects of damage and enemy knockback on Stasis, but I'm pretty confident hunger would go down a very small amount as the logic of Stasis is based on movement. Stasis relies on pre-existing functions that evaluate your position in space. If your position changes hunger resumes because the assumption of Stasis is that movement requires energy. The function cannot tell if you moved the sphere or an enemy moves the sphere, it can only tell that the position of the sphere has changed. :zero:
Iradicate 13 Oct, 2016 @ 3:30am
Great mod! Been looking for something like this thanks!
Mikhail Haigen 10 Oct, 2016 @ 3:57am
Is the hunger resume if someone or something pushes me with crossbow or anything else that forces me do a move while I am in stasis?
zeroghost  [author] 27 Aug, 2016 @ 10:00pm
Hi Starman, changed description as requested. :) Yes, as you have found for yourself, Stasis should be compadible with Casual mode mod enabled hunger :zero:
Starman Ultra 27 Aug, 2016 @ 7:42pm
Just tested it out, this mod works with Casual mode and hunger enabled! Maybe you want to edit the description?
Starman Ultra 27 Aug, 2016 @ 4:17pm
How about for Casual difficulty? I have a mod to enable hunger for Casual, will this mod work?
Paraguin 16 Aug, 2016 @ 11:33am
I work from home somedays and when its slow I like to play some starbound. This mod is perfect for me! I know longer have to exit whenever work calls! Thanks!
zeroghost  [author] 13 Aug, 2016 @ 12:21pm
Hi Jason, that is correct, there is no hunger in missions. The main point of Stasis is hotkeyed A[F]K so you dont have to always place furniture/sleeping bag or exit the game to combat AFK starvation :) :zero:
Jason_c_o 13 Aug, 2016 @ 3:49am
This *can* be done by carrying a sleeping bag. On missions, where you can't place them, I believe your hunger doesn't decrease anyway.
zeroghost  [author] 11 Aug, 2016 @ 11:09pm
Hi WEB ⚡ CRAWLER, as requested I have uploaded Stasis 1.1 to the Chucklefish Forum MODs site. One of these days ill get it up on Nexsus as well. ;) :zero:

ratking 11 Aug, 2016 @ 1:11pm
Is there a version that can be found on the chucklefish forums? I'm a big fan of this mod but unfortunately the workshop has caused problems for me in the past so I must use the forum mods. Rated up and favorited.
Wex 9 Aug, 2016 @ 7:17pm
Plus, what if I don't have a bed to sleep in, like in the middle of a mission.
zeroghost  [author] 9 Aug, 2016 @ 5:56pm
Hi Haseo, Stasis is more about binding AFK functionality to a hotkey. You are correct, it is not “adding” something to the game that wasn’t already there. :zero:
Lykonous Vokun'thur 9 Aug, 2016 @ 2:52pm
players can already keep their hunger meter from going down simply by sleeping in a bed. Having the ability to "sleep" anywhere (as long as it's safe) is convinient, thogh.
Wex 8 Aug, 2016 @ 7:26pm
Very nice. I hated straving to death because a 30 second thing took 4 minutes.
Talsaan 3 Aug, 2016 @ 11:35pm
ok awesome thanks for that
zeroghost  [author] 3 Aug, 2016 @ 10:51pm
Hi Kiriu, That is correct, you can use this mod single or multiplayer without having to install the mod on a server/another players computer. It is a simple mod that does not add any new files to Starbound. :zero:
Talsaan 3 Aug, 2016 @ 10:22pm
So you dont need the mod to be installed on a server to have it run?
AdmiralTails 1 Aug, 2016 @ 11:00am
Yeah, the Resting buff appears to stop hunger degradation. You'll notice that tents don't give you Resting, but rather just Regeneration, thus hunger still degrades.
zeroghost  [author] 31 Jul, 2016 @ 7:36am
Hi Baleur, many beds already pause hunger when you rest in them but it's not universal as far as I can tell. Tents don't pause hunger but I suspect Chucklefish may patch this soon as it's probably intended that all objects you rest on/in are suppose to pause hunger. I can't really think why it would be intentional that only some beds do.
zeroghost  [author] 31 Jul, 2016 @ 7:33am
Hi Tylo, I will look into pausing food rot.
Baleur 31 Jul, 2016 @ 7:09am
Can you make a mod that like, stops hunger while you are sleeping in a bed? that could be a good compromise too, going afk when just entering a bed would be convenient in earlygame.
