ah alright, couldnt really find them from searching
Sir Greaves  [autor] 17 nov. 2024 la 15:10
Nah, they're available on the Chucklefish forums, but I've been considering making my own no-sign-up, no-Steam page for them all.
indeepj 17 nov. 2024 la 9:55
are these mods steam-only?
Sir Greaves  [autor] 10 iul. 2023 la 14:37
I would love line-of-sight, but unfortunately it's either impossible or outside my scope. The stuff I do is very simple
Darkest King 10 iul. 2023 la 12:18
I don't know if you still work on mods but is it possible to make one so that the player can only see things directly in their line of sight? For example, the insides of buildings will appear like pure darkness until you get inside them?

> There seem to be a problem regarding wire-connected doors.
Light passes straight through fully closed doors as if they were not there if the door (blue note) is connected.

That's a vanilla bug I can do nothing about (as far as I know). It's just more obvious with my lighting mod(s).

This mod has surprises across doors and walls.
Very fun.
Good works.

>Aha, I decided to test it with your medium brightness and light overhaul mod. The sheer difference in atmosphere is astounding! Great work!

That's the same settings I ran with for quite some time as well. I'm glad you like it!

>Useless, if flashlight -n MM still x-ray five blocks around u

It's not about making the game harder, it's about immersion.

>Oh, this is sooo much better!

Thanks! This is mainly for use without the main portion of TanzLO, as making all lights into shadow-casting lights achieves basically the same effect. But if you have performance issues using the main portion, this is an alright alternative.

but yes, that was my question.

just a thought.

>is there a way for even the surface blocks tohave no light?

I'm not sure what you mean. Like, every foreground block just solid black? Not as far as I know.

Yep, I made that one too: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=729467376

Yeah there's a lot of wierd mod problems that boil down to some issue with vanilla starbound, I'm discovering lately. lol
Sir Greaves  [autor] 7 apr. 2018 la 2:18
>Like this mod, but light seems to be able to pass through doors again if I wire up those doors to something.

This is a bug with vanilla. It's present (though less obvious) without my mods. Nothing I can do about it. :c

Like this mod, but light seems to be able to pass through doors again if I wire up those doors to something.

>Love this mod. In conjunction with some of your other ones, it makes lights a lot less able to be just placed anywhere in order to achieve enough light to see. Keep up the good work.

That's the idea! :D Makes mining trips a bit more immersive, too, in my opinion.
Sir Greaves  [autor] 19 nov. 2017 la 21:34
>(I didnt see anything on the FAQ) Does this effect fps at all?

It shouldn't. The main TanzLO package does, the customization bits shouldn't.

It's client-side.

>Does TanzLO have its own no lighting passthrough or would I need this mod for that feature?

With how TanzLO changes lighting, this isn't needed. But if you want stuff even darker, it can help.

Glyde 9 oct. 2017 la 21:02
im having the same bug

>I am wondering, read your FAQ yet Im still unsure, is this mod compatible with your lighting overhaul? Or does that effect ligh passing through too?

The passthrough mods are compatable with TanzLO, but are kinda subtle with the main package. It's best to use without, but if you wanna limit things even more, this may help.

>I think there is a little bug. I have a bunker, with an Avian Ship Door, linked to an Fingerprint Scanner. The light inside the bunker, a Warning Light, pass throught the Avian Ship Door, even if the door is close. Except if I unwire the door to the fingerprint scanner, when I do this, light don't pass when the door is close. I try with a tinywallbutton too, same. Tryed too with an Human Ship Door and a Wood Door, same. Hope it's help.

I'll see if I can figure it out.

>Is this a client side mod? I mean if I have it and my friend doesn't on the same local server, will errors happen?

Shouldn't cause any issues if you're both allowing mismatched assets.

Definitely helped add some frames to my pathetic framerate - works like a charm and removed some of the annoying lighting issues on my ship. Also makes exploration a little more interesting. Thanks for this mod :)
Glyde 14 aug. 2016 la 11:07
i like this mod already.. this and the dark player aura
Vi-El 3 aug. 2016 la 0:26
I am not using that. I use Subtle Glow. Alright, then this is not for me :3
Sticking with the Lighting overhaul
Thank you!

And Thank you for these mods!

>So, I have the Ore Glow mod downloaded. Does it conflict with it?
>As in, does it affect the ore glow alot?

Shouldn't affect it too much. If anything, it'll just make the glow not penetrate very far. In which case, you might have brightly-lit ore (if you're using the bright glow) that only shines one tile deep.

>What mods do you recommend to compensate such darkness ?
>Will Better Flares & Glowsticks work?

Mainly it's for people who don't want to see into the tiles so easily. The Matter Manipulator highlight square helps, but lights won't pass deep into the floor like in vanilla.

'Better Flares and Glowsticks' doesn't change how deep they shine, so I don't think they'd help.

Sir Greaves  [autor] 2 aug. 2016 la 12:44
>Is this already included in Lighting Overhaul?

Nope, but Lighting Overhaul has a similar effect because of how shadows work. I usually install them together, because it increases the darkness.

This should help people who want a similar effect without too much of a hit on performance.
