Adding some modern AEW/Recce, more Type 052D etc instead of older Type 051 and Type 052 which have been phased out by now IRL, and updating some ships and aircraft to their midlife upgrade version would be a more realistic scenario imo.
Not sure if you've addressed these already, but any chance you could make a version with the new cargo operations feature (so we have strategic flexibility for landing forces rather than scripted invasions), along with non-single-unit air and naval bases to simulate missile damage?
Sure. Thanks for asking.
The issue is not related to bingo settings. At both the Side Doctrine and mission specific Doctrine/ROE for my AEW missions, I have set:
| Fuel State, Pre-Planned: Bingo: Terminate mission and returned to base with planned reserve fuel
and
| Fuel State, RTB: Yes, when first unit in flight reaches fuel state
The issue is that the aircraft ARE attempting to return to base, they que up and turn to final, then execute what seems like a "missed approach" at the last second. They do this in circles until they exhaust their fuel and crash. Even the ones that take off with a full tank of fuel and are told to RTB manually will do this.
If I'm missing something I'll take a screenshot, but like I said, I've found a work around. All said, I do agree with you that it is likely not a bug in the scenario itself.
I found that if I unassigned the E-2's from their given AEW missions that they actually would land (rather than executing something of a "missed approach" which they'd been doing before).
Not sure as to the root cause of this, although it's presumably at the mission level... But at least there's a workaround.
On a side note, have you ever encountered a bug in the scenario (or elsewhere in the game) wherein the E-2 Hawkeyes refuse to land on carriers or even at an airbase (and subsequently running out of fuel)? At first, it was just CSG-5 / USS Reagan issue for me, now it's happening at a few air bases as well. I've even tried looking for solutions via the scenario editor and I'm stumpped.
Thanks again for making this. Must have taken forever.
12:XX:XX PM - Event: 'PRC violates Taiwan's borders' was triggered but did NOT fire (at least one condition failed).
Hey everyone, was hoping someone could help me understand how we are supposed to load up all of the ground units onto ships/aircraft and transport them over from the mainland US into the combat theater... What am I missing?
I've searched far and wide to find my own answer, but to no avail.
The amphibious and airborne / air assault units are already loaded on their transports. The icons on the U.S. and PRC main land are there due to game design. They have to exist in order to deploy, disappearing when they are actually deployed in theater at the time of activation. :) Reminder: Due to Game limitations, the LZs/Beach Heads are pre-determined and can't be changed at the whim of the Player. Advice is to read the faction's OPORD. :)
I've searched far and wide to find my own answer, but to no avail.
Please, how can I download the scenario?
Many thanks
The Japanese ships do defend themselves with SAM's, you have to send an AEW asset that's within proximity to detect them; some JSDF SAM's only launch when the Chinese ASuW's are a few nm away from missile impact.
This is a really great scenario. Probably the best one I have played and I have played quite a few of the scenarios. I really appreciate all the hard work and attention to detail you put in the scenario. I do have a question though. It seems that the Japanese, who appear to be allies cannot be controlled. I know that in some scenarios this is the case and allies cannot be controlled. Is this the case with this scenario? In addition, I noticed that if I can't control the Japanese that's not a problem, but it doesn't seem like they defend themselves at all in the scenario. Their warships do not launch AD missiles against anything and their fighter planes seem to fly right into enemy AD range and are shot down without defending themselves or engaging enemy warplanes. Is this the way the Japanese faction is supposed to act or am I doing something wrong. I'd appreciate anyone's help on this matter. Thanks.
