That was actually the first map I made in Portal 2, sort of as an experiment :) Most people didn't seem too fond of it, as it was more playing around with mechanics. Glad you liked it.

I searched for challenging maps and found this in an old thread linked by google.. wasn't as hard as other maps but i enjoyed it.

I am genuinely surprised this is still getting comments :)

Wow, that's solution is very accurate to my original intent. You didn't use the platform above the laser button, but that's only there for convenience in case you don't want to squeeze through portals with lasers shooting out of them.

Most probably. This was the first Portal map I ever made and it was done without a proper plan, so I kind of had to fit everything and move things around.

My only other map so far - Teamwork and Patience - incorporates... Still fairly many elements, but reuses them far more. But that's co-op and getting anyone to try that is like getting blood from a stone :)

In any event, I'm glad you were able to follow my labyrinthine logic and solve this thing :)

Nice map! Took some time to get familar with all the stuff thats goin on there but in the end everything was fitting together... Well done.
Maybe you should try to use less puzzle elements and use them many times.
Cheers

Thank you. It took me a while to fill all the loopholes, but right now, everything but the extending platform above the laser button should actually be necessary :)

nice work this is quite a good chamber it got me thinking for a while and i didnt find any problems

After many moons, I finally made another test chamber that very likely nobody's going to play because it's co-op, but it's worth posting here anyway:

Thank you for the video :)

I just wanted to sabout the top room that gave you so much trouble - you can moe the portal on the ceiling without going back down. Just shoot up and you can move where the laser comes in :)

Also, for the pronunciation of the name, my original inspiration comes from a Wunchpunch character:

Alright then! After asking Malidictus (can spell it, can't say it ^^) for advice I finally finished the map while recording. Here it is:

Also - Update:

Streamlined button connection notifications. Removed a few non-essential antlines, swapped some antlines for symbols, moved objects around so it's clearer which button controls what item.

Put a staircase that needs to be extended in the "upper room," controlled by the floor reciever. Wall reciever now opens the wall pannel. This should make it clearer what each reciever does.

Added a third fizzler to the alternating fizzlers corridor. Doesn't really change anything in the puzzle, just adds a step.

Added reset buttons to all dispensers in case you get your cubes stuck. Added ways out of every postion you could get stuck, yourself.

Let me know if any other problems show up.

The last water pit? That's easy - there's an extendable bridge behind the glass to the left as you're looking at the exit. It's activated by means of the floor laser reciverer to the right of the platform before the last water pit. The puzzle is getting the laser to that while also getting it to the receivers that unlock the door :)

Give it another shot and if you still can't, I'll PM the solution to you.

Thanks for all the help Malidictus. It's possible that the map is a little bit too hard for the average guy.

Anyway, I managed to get to the very end and opened the exit, but I can't seem to find a way to get across the last goo. If you don't want to spoil it here I'd appreciate it if you'd send me a private message.

Thanks again for your time!

You're activating the laser by standing on it? OK, this I hadn't even considered. For that, I can actually give you a spoiler: Look for a weighted cube in one of the side rooms. You should never have to stand on the button in the hole to turn on the laser upstairs.

To clarify - I'm aware you have to line up a cube and then stand on a button in one of the side rooms, but this is because you need to see what the laser is doing. That's only for that one room. You should never have to guess in upstairs room.
Reachground 4 Oct, 2012 @ 4:37am
I suspected that. Then my next question is if it's possible to have more than 2 cubes available. Otherwise it has to be a lot of trial and error to make sure the lasers hit both recievers while I activate the laser by standing on the button in the big room below. If you're supposed to have 3 cubes avaiable then that's what I'm missing :)
Malidictus  [author] 4 Oct, 2012 @ 4:26am
No, but you're supposed to hit both the ground-based receiver and the wall-mounted receiver. With the ground receiver as close to the wall as it is, I'm not sure if you can do that with one mirror cube.

Remember - the ground receiver doesn't just operate the wall pannel it opens. I could probably redo the section slightly yo make that more clear.
Reachground 3 Oct, 2012 @ 10:26pm
Tried it again but I'm still missing something. Are you supposed to get two lasers working in the top room at the same time?
Malidictus  [author] 3 Oct, 2012 @ 1:55am
I cut an antline as the room was getting busy so that may be throwing you off. As you can tell from the promo screenshot, there's a button hidden inside the wall that's tagged "square." Did you manage to get to that?

If the button is a little confusing, let me know and I'll return the antline.
Reachground 2 Oct, 2012 @ 6:24pm
Hmmm, couldn't solve it. A bit tired though so I must miss something. I guess there must be a first for everything. Got the laser cube to work the panels in the upper room. Didn't seem to do anything.

Slight cosmetic update done to make a room look pretty.

Man i had both cubes up there and still not able to figure it out hehe. I'll get down to it sometimes. Thanks for your remark, if you ever try my maps, make sure you have plenty of time ahead ;)
Malidictus  [author] 24 Jun, 2012 @ 11:20am
As for the upper room: It seems kind of hard to hit both laser detectors with a single cube, doesn't it? :)

Thank you for your comments and playthrough. Your maps look interesting from the screenshots. I'll definitely look through them as soon as I have the time.
Captn Gore 22 Jun, 2012 @ 11:37pm
The upper room, i did not understand how to solve it. But i somehow cheated it by getting stuck in the angled wall after the stairs dropped down. I juggled with the laser cube and succeded in opening the wall, getting access to the button. I might give it another try sometimes to figure out the right way to do it.

Beside that i REALLY enjoyed this map. It was beautifull and the puzzles were great. I had a lot of fun solving this, except for the upper room hehe. Thanks for maping !

The flip panel isn't actually a great secret. I made it so you can delay starting the laser if you don't feel like crawling through a portal with a laser shooting through it. You can get around it with clever jumping or blocking the beam with a cube, so it's just there as a convenience. Or you can see it as a red herring :)

The main section of the map IS big, but I wanted to leave room to walk around without worrying about dropping down a water hole. I've made sure to make it possible to port around the large room to cut down on the trip, though... Well, aside from right at the end, but that's part of the puzzle.

If there's anything too confusing or not working properly, let me know and I'll fix it.

Some neat ideas here. Maybe a little unnecessarily large. I agree with the Sentient Cloud's approval.

Oh, what was the flip panel for near the exit? Didn't use it.

This is a re-uppload of my Room of Many Things after the Steam Workshop decided to drop it without explanation. My apologies to anyone subscribed.
