Geneosis  [author] 1 May, 2013 @ 4:41am
The start button in on the right when you enter the room, you can see it on the preview screenshots of the map.
VENOMFLESH 30 Apr, 2013 @ 4:50pm

Geneosis  [author] 30 Apr, 2013 @ 3:34pm
@William : Please only post comments related to this map or I will delete them ^^
Geneosis  [author] 30 Apr, 2013 @ 4:53am
As you can see there is no #BEEMOD tag in the description so that means I didn't use it in this map ^^
VENOMFLESH 29 Apr, 2013 @ 4:02pm
But does it need bee mod
VENOMFLESH 29 Apr, 2013 @ 4:02pm
UM WHAT ABOUT THIS MAP I LOVE IT
Geneosis  [author] 27 Apr, 2013 @ 3:47am
@nintendo.erk : That's an idea ^^ Not sure if I still have the original file of this map (so that I can edit it) anyway...
Will try yours when I have a moment ;)
nintendo.erk 26 Apr, 2013 @ 2:50pm
you can make a system with lasers for the flippers so they return right after being deployed.
i recently created a pinball machine in the pti with some help from beemod and modified panels so the ball won't fizzle on them.

It might work. It's almost pinball without flippers.
Geneosis  [author] 3 Feb, 2013 @ 2:43pm
@Diamond Knight : Not before I googled it ^^
Diamond Knight 30 Jan, 2013 @ 8:05am
Very cool design. Ever heard of Pachinko?
Nightwing 28 Sep, 2012 @ 3:32pm
Wow... I fail.
Thanks for the tip!
Geneosis  [author] 28 Sep, 2012 @ 2:02pm
You need to enter the command "sv_cheats 1" to activate cheats first, or you wont be allowed to use noclip ;)
Nightwing 28 Sep, 2012 @ 12:59pm
I haven't played yet today...
BTW: I still can't figure out how to use noclip. I put it in my dev console at one point, but it never activated...
Geneosis  [author] 28 Sep, 2012 @ 12:22pm
And you were able to take a screenshot of the situation? Maybe use noclip or some glitch to enter the pinball and see what's the problem with the ball...
Nightwing 28 Sep, 2012 @ 12:11pm
If it happens again, yes.
Geneosis  [author] 28 Sep, 2012 @ 4:37am
Hmmm, strange... You mean you pressed the button to respawn the ball and nothing happened? It's possible that the ball dropper glitched itself and wont drop balls any more because the ball was respawned too repetitively... In this case, I can't do anything to prevent and/or fix that sorry ^^"
But if something else happened that stuck the ball, could you take a screenshot of what's going on?
Nightwing 27 Sep, 2012 @ 9:05pm
For some reason, it stopped working for me...
I got two turrets, but then for some reason, the ball glitched out. Apparently, it got stuck somewhere. Might I suggest placing a second button to respawn the ball?
Geneosis  [author] 23 Sep, 2012 @ 4:11am
Yeah sure, finishing the puzzle is more "waiting that the ball bounce half-randomly to all the buttons" X)
mechtakendall 22 Sep, 2012 @ 11:34pm
Enjoyed the hell out of this. Not the puzzle part, but just enjoyed watching the pinball action. Loved it! Difficulty 8/10 (if you really want to solve the puzzle, getting rid of all the turrets was not as interesting as the pinball action) Design 9/10
Geneosis  [author] 17 Aug, 2012 @ 3:27pm
Lol X) The exit is on the same floor as the entrance ^^"
1980 17 Aug, 2012 @ 3:25pm
i couldn't find the exit -_-;;
Geneosis  [author] 5 Aug, 2012 @ 1:48pm
Brand new fun game in my workshop! Lets try the Chamboule-Tout !
stormsend 4 Aug, 2012 @ 6:43pm
great pinball game. i can see many hours of work for my few minutes of fun. thanks
Geneosis  [author] 21 Jul, 2012 @ 2:46pm
Well all that would be if I knew how to use Hammer ^^ I'm currently building maps with PeTI only, so of course if you start editing with Hammer you can probably fix the bug and make it looks like a real pinball ;)
MachManX 21 Jul, 2012 @ 12:00pm
Well then, rather than use flippers, make it a bit more futuristic. This is portal, after all, 10,000 years in the future ;) Use a vacuum tubes that exert an outgoing air pressure when the button is activated. Granted the layout will need some rearranging to accomodate vacuum tubes but the pinball machine layout is messed up anyway. Also, you could have a rotating block connected to a button to change the trajectory of the ball and you could incorporate a machine shaker feature, like an earthquake thing to shake things up.
Geneosis  [author] 21 Jul, 2012 @ 2:16am
@machmanx : Sorry about the few interactions of the ball with the flipper, but I reduced them voluntarly because of a bug of the game : If you deploy an angled pannel (the flipper) when the ball is on the trajectory of the pannel, this will most of the time destroy the ball instead of making it bounce!
MachManX 21 Jul, 2012 @ 12:04am
The pinball setup is flawed. Out of the 20 launches I got to use the flipper once. Otherwise the ball never reached the flippers. The layout needs improvement and consulting a pic of an actual pinball machine may help. Besides that, this is supposed to be for science and well, user interaction was little.
mood3rd 18 Jul, 2012 @ 11:41am
impressive.
Geneosis  [author] 18 Jul, 2012 @ 3:58am
Well the idea was to place a portal behind the dropper button and the other close to the flipper buttons ;) So that you can see the ball in the dropper when you press it ^^
Warbear 17 Jul, 2012 @ 11:37pm
Oh, suggestion...put the button that drops the ball closer to the flipper buttons, maybe right behind?
Warbear 17 Jul, 2012 @ 11:34pm
OK, that was REALLY cool. Much better than mine!
Geneosis  [author] 22 Jun, 2012 @ 12:07pm
I apologize about the lack of control, but I was faced with a big problem : for some reasons if you activate an angled pannel when the ball is on the trajectory of the pannel, it will fizzle the ball instead of just push it -_-

And I tried to prevent cycling path for the ball as much as possible ;)
Le Petit Mort 22 Jun, 2012 @ 11:38am
Pros:
• Pinball!
• Bouncing turrets!

Cons:
• Limited control over ball;
• Watching the ball hit the same two targets more than once;
Geneosis  [author] 14 Jun, 2012 @ 3:43am
Thanks ^^

Best pinball map in Portal 2
Geneosis  [author] 8 Jun, 2012 @ 6:48am
Yup ^^ Added it to the list ;)

Hi Gen,

This is my pre-release as I told you last week

Thanks
Geneosis  [author] 4 Jun, 2012 @ 2:58pm
@Soup Calhoun : I undestood how to portal through glasses by watching some video X) But I will not fix this, it may break the skin of the room :p
*Hunter* 3 Jun, 2012 @ 7:45pm
it was so fun
Soup Calhoun 3 Jun, 2012 @ 3:20pm
The update stopped the gel method, but did not resolve the ground portal method I mentioned in my earlier comment. I don't know why I am so invested in finding exploits in people's maps.
Geneosis  [author] 3 Jun, 2012 @ 3:00pm
Map updated ^^ I only fixed the way to take the cube... If someone want to enter the Pinball and is able to use the glitch, nevermind :p
Geneosis  [author] 3 Jun, 2012 @ 2:58pm
Wow you find exploits I couldn't ever imagine ^^ And I already imagine a looooot of possibles bypass in my maps X) Thanks again, I will correct this soon...
It would be pretty perfect if you could test every maps I did like that, but I don't want to impose anyone to play all my chambers ;) So do what you like in my workshop :p
Soup Calhoun 3 Jun, 2012 @ 2:17pm
If you know how portal bumping works, I did it on the ceiling near of the glass separating the pinball game from the player. And the update did stop one way to get the cube, but there was still another way. Shoot a portal on the wall slightly under the height of the glass over the turrets and a portal sideways on the ground near the cube. Fall out of the wall portal and shoot the same portal onto the ground to enter, upon coming out of the first ground portal move sideways (You move faster in the air like this) toward the cube, then grab it, Harder to do but still bypassable.
You can resolve everything by putting more nonportalable surfaces on the ceiling near the pinball and the ground near the turrets.
Geneosis  [author] 3 Jun, 2012 @ 9:22am
@Soup Calhoun : Ok, did the last update fixed the way you bypassed the turrets? And for entering the Pinball itself... How did you pass through the glass wall? X)
Soup Calhoun 3 Jun, 2012 @ 6:24am
I beat this level a different way by only getting the turret in the far left with blue gel then got a portal at a high distance, fell down out of it, shot an exit portal at where the light bridge ends and the entry portal at the ground, bounced off the blue gel and over the remaining turrets to the cube. Huge success followed. You can also portal bump your way into the pinball game.

There is actually a very good community for source mapping with helpful tutorials and so on. only problem is, it is in german language ;) its called Thewall.de i dont know if such sites also exist in english, at least the valve developer community is a good start.
Geneosis  [author] 2 Jun, 2012 @ 6:10pm
^^ I have to sneak with the item limit since my first map X) And there is not a lot of maps in my workshop which didn't annoy me with this error ^^" I think about using Hammer, but need more time to learn how it works... Maybe this summer :p
