@Yeti Nope, wouldn't be lorefriendly and I stray towards lorefriendly content as of now :P
Besides, an archer unit is not nessecary for their roster.

Shame about the halberd models. The modding tools don't let you resize them? I suppose you could maybe use the Bretonnian halberd models, although you're right that the Orc ones do look more cruel and aged, like the normal/greatweapon grave guards.

@The Malachite Stalagmite Well, that's because the "halberds" are Orc boar rider spears. It's just something you'll going to have to deal with. I have significantly updated the unit today. Thanks :)

It's a neat idea, and it looks better to me than the scthe-armed units somebody else made, but there's two problems.

One, if you zoom in then the polearms look almost comically oversized for the Grave Guard. I'm not quite sure what it is, but they seem... fat, I guess.

Second, the stats, while good, don't /feel/ like a halberd unit. Most halberd units have a relatively high melee defence to go with their defensive nature, but a mediocre melee attack that becomes great when the anti-large bonus applies. These are just... Average, I guess, at both.

@Blood Dragon Propably because they thought that giving them ground units with anti-large would make a difference, which it doesnt. Do give them a nice playtest and tell me if they're too strong or something :P

Why didn't CA add these in the vanilla game? This mod is so great! A much needed unit for the vampire counts roster, and totally balanced as well, which is great. Oh btw, those tabletop Grave Guard models with halberds were always my favourite Grave Guard models.

well the lance formation is in the Lore :D and if you don't like it ..why not skeleton archers :D I am joking and I gree with you about passive traits the game needs too much baby sitting anyway ..Maybe 10 % dmg ( like the blessings of the Lady ) ressistance , regeneration , anti large, anti infantry ? sth like that

Just deal with it. It's the lore and the lore is superior here.
I won't take Cataphs lance formation as I never liked to have that ability to begin with, cool idea but nah. I like passive traits and attributes than actives :P

In lore, ressurected corpses cant use bows or such.

These are their rules .. you can check the links. and there is lance formation by Cataph :) So as I said before you can copy it of use the long way to invent your own
yes this is fantasy .. that is why you have castles ,walls but no archers when you play with VC .. it ofcourse no damn sence ..maybe , just maybe the vamps will figure out for several millenias ''These mortals are using arrows maybe just maybe we can resurect some archers too ? ''

That is why the garrison of Bretonnia is ... 8 cav units ..in a castle ..because '' the lore says ..''' blah blah

Well, unless you haven't noticed. This is warhammer, not in a historical setting regardless if it is inspired by history ;)

There's no ability called Lance formation, What do you mean with Combat? No Undead breaks in this game. Etherial? No that doesn't make any sense, they're not ghosts. all undead untis causes fear.

just make them cav and infantry for tactical solutions :) ALso I must say taht even the knights pref to fight on foot the English knigghts were famous of fighting on foot, also teutoniic knights, in some cases Templars and so on

Not as much cav as the empire ;)

They will be cavalry. Because grail knights are cavalry and thus Black grail knights will aswell.
Now, what were the rules for them? Anything unique or specific if you recall?

Hmm, ward save could be cool. fire or magic attacks? Perhaps one of the new bonuses like -16 leadership.

I don't feel like copying another person's work. Seeing that i will make them regiment of renown (if possible) I feel like making them unique to some extent perhaps. A unique ability? Or something? Any ideas? :P

the grail knights must be the second best cav in the game ( after ther blood knights) and the black grail knights must be the third best but in the game griefs have them all ; /

Knights of the black grail- cav and foot - I am not sure what will make them superb -terror, regen, and maybe aura of the black grail or sth fancy like that

Could you make a unit pack with all of your wonderful units. I know that you had one .but you created alot of units since then. Also I have a lot of mods ( 79 :D ) and this is creating so problems . Most of them are your units btw ..SO I am searching for overhauls and unit packs to keep the units but to lower the number of loaded mods :)

Khorngors would be cool. Khornbulls would be awesome as well. God specific giants are also loreful, and would make people happy. I am VERY surprised that no one has made Chaos Ogres. Someone could make them easily out of Orc models recolored and resized.

-CONT_ They are the Bloodbeast of Khorne *(red spawn) Beast of Nurgle (green spawn) Fiends of Slaanesh (purple spawn) and Tzeentch Horror (Blue spawn)...Hell you could even leave them as a squad and people would be happy just to get the God specific spawn. Khorne ones should be strongest, Slaanesh the fastest, Nurgle a shitload of health, and Tzeench magic immune, and maybe have a lv 1 spell.

Archaons Swords of Chaos and Sigvalds mirror guard are NOT regiments of renown, but rather choices within thier army books. I think the Swords of Chaos would be perfect, as no one has done them, and they are popular as hell....XD
If you announce it as 7th edition, you could do the Chosen Knights of Chaos. People were REALLY pissed when these guys, who have been with chaos since 3rd edition, were not included in the 8th edition books. Giving them a comeback would make MANY people happy.
If you want to do a cool monster, (I may have mentioned this before...) They TOTALLY screwed up on spawn, and people have pointed this out in many forums. Spawn should be 1 model. Large, mindless rage monster that looks silly in a squad haha! If you wanted to reskin one, and make it bigger, they have 4 different spawn no one has done...-Cont-

Daemon slayers.. It's a rough call. As you have noticed I am a bit of a hipster when it comes to modding so I want to make units (mostly) which people haven't made yet. Propably not daemon slayers tho. Thing is dwarfs are already have their army book (pretty) filled. Except Daemon slayers and such. I might make daemon slayers if there are none other.

Alright neat ideas! Archaons Swords of Chaos and Mirror Guard sounds like Regiments of Renown of some sort.. I have a list for chaos units like "Putrid Blightkings" That could be.. well somewhat alike! Skullreapers aswell is not impossible to make.

Warewolves.. uhm no. It's not possible :( And stick to lore friendly. As lore friendly as possible!
For Empire I'm thinking of something of the lines of Knights of the Blazing Sun. Like another Knightly Order unit.

I got a couple of Beastmen units to go for. I will also try to recolor the armor to make custom textures this time. I'm thinking of Khorngors (Mainly because another mod made Pestigors).

The Swords of Chaos is a "they". "He" was a typo error. They are 12 in a unit, and should be limited to 1 unit per game.

Sigvalds shield bearers, the Mirror Guard, would be fun as well. They were done a while back, but the mods been deleted (even though it had 1000s of subs...Not cool lol). For Dwarves, they need thier Daemon Slayers (these are slayers that are specialized against Chaos). VCs, I would think a unit of Werewolves would rock! Lore or no lore haha! and Empire, another anti-chaos unit-the Inquisitors.
