@embosssed, it happens sometimes after a long break from playing for some reason. just verify files and u should be good

Is there a way to grant policies without increasing the cost of the next policy? for example, starting a game with the piety tree unlocked, and it still takes 30 culture to unlock your "first" policy?
KIlcrops 18 Jun @ 9:33pm
This mod is simply essential for those who enjoy experimenting, creating custom scenarios, or fixing bugs without having to restart an entire game. The interface is intuitive, allowing you to add resources and units to instantly change policies and technologies.

good
embosssed 15 Jun @ 10:50pm
After attempting to download this mod, I have been unable to start the game. It has broken my Civ V and it doesn't load anymore. When I click play it says 'running' but nothing happens.
Dominus DragonMan 29 May @ 12:35am
doesnt work with Gaia's Core Mods
Fallen King 28 May @ 11:09am
Installed the version v46 from Civfanatics and it loads but when I launch it I get the following msg:

IGE_API_Data.lua:1138: attempt to call field 'improvement_AdjacentImprovementYieldChanges' (a nil value)

Either when I click on the buton or use CTRL + I - When one fails, the other will respond, then the interface opens.

Levictus, ty for "holding my hand" with this. I still don't know how I would have downloaded this from github...its so user unfriendly to me...and I don't know why I did not think to look for it at civfanatics (one of my many "duh" moments) but your instructions worked perfectly.
Now if only it would work with the Gaia stuff...
Levictus 18 Apr @ 6:49am
Download the IGE .civ5mod file from here (v46 from 2023,it's the only one):

https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/ingame-editor.30070/

Put the .civ5mod file in a new folder (e.g. named "IGEv46") in \documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\

Make sure to delete any older IGE versions (they will also exist in a folder in MODS).
rmm 16 Apr @ 11:16pm
That doesn't help. It doesn't tell me how to download from github.
Levictus 15 Apr @ 2:03am
I was able to install the latest version (v46) from github (you need create a new folder in the mod folder, e.g. "IGEV46" and delete the older version of IGE). I got an error when trying to load IGE, but that was better than a CTD with the last version on Steam workshop.

I have a lot of mods installed so it might be an issue on my mind. FWIW, all of the mods used to work fine with the workshop version of IGE.
rmm 27 Mar @ 10:49am
Does anyone out there know how to get that updated IGE to work? Its the one mentioned by HaiFeng on March 9. Its in github and so it won't install as a normal mod and there are no instructions that I can see that tells me how to download it, nor what to do afterwards.
And if you do know how, and are kind enough to say how...then pretend you are explaining it to a child...tell me exactly where to go and what to click.
Czaritsa 20 Mar @ 2:37pm
@Brebs how the heck did you fix the "choose production" bug? My over-worked fingers will thank you! :)
Czaritsa 20 Mar @ 2:35pm
@SavetheWhale yes, there is a fix. If some of your mods don't show up for choosing in-game (yet some do,) you can fix it immediately. C drive > Users > (your username) > Documents > My Games > Sid Meier's Civilization 5 > cache. Delete your "Civ5ModsDatabase.db" file. Now, if you're in the middle of a game with mods, BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN (or screenshot) whatever mods you were using before you do this. The game will re-download the missing mods, and yet, forget which ones were activated from before. (All checkboxes for active/not - will be blank.) So, be sure you know which ones were "on" during that savegame so your save still loads. Remember - you crash loading a save with mods active without going to game menu > mods > loading them first.
Brebs 17 Mar @ 2:06pm
I use this mainly for fixing game breaking bugs, like the "choose production" bug. Thanks for saving my turn 655 game!
andoblock 10 Mar @ 4:35am
I downloaded Game editor plus but it didn't appear in mods in the game.
HaiFeng 9 Mar @ 6:08pm
there is a newer version InGame-Editor-Plus

externalsoIipsist: Keep in mind that this mod was created 13 years ago, before Civ5 itself had all its updates. And the original author has long since disappeared from the Civ5 community, so no issues are going to get fixed until someone decides to go thru the coding and fix things themselves AND make those fixes public. AND, since no one has volunteered to do that for 13 years then I have little confidence that that is going to ever happen.
Mods in most every game (not just Civ5) are notorious for being incompatible with each other, and IGE is no different. Most mods today did not exist when IGE was written so yeah, there can be problems. I myself would love to play with both Gaia and IGE but at this time, they are not compatible...they used to be but changes in Gaia changed that and so until the author of Gaia decides to fix things then I must decide which to use.

This is Part 2.
rmm 9 Mar @ 8:02am
externalsoIipsist: I don't mean to throw shade at you, but making an overall statement like that is not going to do you much good. You are saying, with the words you chose, that "IGE causes everybody's game to crash" and you are wrong. There are MANY players who still, at this time, use IGE just fine...and that includes me. If all you want to do is whine then...whatever. But if you want a chance to get things fixed then you need to be more specific. What you mean is YOUR game crashes when YOU use IGE on YOUR installation.
You need to state the circumstances of YOUR installation...what operating system? Win10?11? Home? Pro? Linux? And what other mods are you using? Gaia? Vox P?

This Part 1 of my reply. Continue to Part 2...
externalsolipsist 8 Mar @ 9:36am
This is ridiculous. This mod causes the game to crash on 90% of all attempts to open the editor. It's useless.
Astroboy 18 Feb @ 1:19pm
You saved this game for me! TY TY TY!

I stopped playing civ 5, years ago, but recently loaded it up and started playing it again, I soon remembered why I had stopped playing it...

I am not someone who wants to beat the game in 5 moves in deity mode, IDC.

I'm more of a chill-N-click player, on easy mode, just enjoying my time.

And then the stupid AI spamming of religious leaders kicks in, pretty soon I am totally stressed out.

So I looked up mods, and saw that this was immensely popular.

WOW! No wonder! Beautiful, professional and elegant UI.

I maxed out my Buddhist cities, and it's back to chill-N-click!!

TY TY TY :_Peace_:
rmm 18 Feb @ 12:11am
SpaceTheWhale, are you still subscribed to those mods?
SpaceTheWhale 14 Feb @ 10:35am
So i recently got a new PC and since then this and a bunch of other mods don't show up, is there a fix for this?
Teatea 13 Feb @ 9:52am
@Gandalflee1
Yeah there's currently an issue making IGE and Gaia's core mod incompatible.
No fix yet but it's planned apparently. Check the discussion feed on Gaia's for better follow-up
Gandalflee1 8 Feb @ 8:39am
Hey I keep receiving this error

Assets\DLC\Expansion2\UI\InGame\InfoTooltipInclude.lua: 123: attempt to compare number with nill

I'm not sure what it means. I'm running it with the Gai's Sapiens mods and it's components. I did not have this issue last week when playing. However, I recently uninstalled and reinstalled the game along with the same mods and now this happens. How might I fix this?
Jonnus.Cobra 2 Feb @ 6:13am
Thanks a lot for this awesome mod. You're amazing. Absolutely fun and useful.

I hope someone does something similar for Civ VII when the mod tools become available.
thomasf5 21 Jan @ 1:41pm
I can load this in, but when start a game I cannot pick production or science for the turn and actually start the game. Nothing happens when I click on the city or the production button
Manius Julius Prime 20 Jan @ 8:04pm
Since the update no longer works.
Nickel 16 Jan @ 6:16pm
I have no other mods.

The editor does not seem to show up in more.
Taste of Tecate 13 Nov, 2024 @ 12:37pm
IGE couldn't start, probably because of another mod.

Line Assets\DLC\UI_bc1\ToolTips\InfoTooltipInclude.lua681: bad argument #4 to 'format' (string expected, got nil)

and the next lines are what the error is referencing from Enhanced UI mod

tip = format( "%s %+i%s", tip, specialist.GreatPeopleRateChange, GreatPeopleIcon( specialist.Type ) )
[PIGZ]MrTango 10 Nov, 2024 @ 3:24am
IGE couldn't start, probably because of another mod.
Line C:\Users\Mike\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\Ingame Editor (v39)\Panels\IGE_UnitsPanel.lua:89: bad argument \1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)
peter.popp65 3 Nov, 2024 @ 3:06am
To the community: I have solved the problem. I made the following change in the IGE_Loader.xml file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- Released under GPL v3 -->
<Context ColorSet="Beige_Black_Alpha" Font="TwCenMT14" FontStyle="Shadow" ConsumeMouse="0" >
<LuaContext FileName="IGE_Controller_All" ID="Controller" />
<LuaContext FileName="IGE_Window" ID="Window" />
<LuaContext FileName="IGE_MainButton" ID="MainButton" />
</Context>
where the line <LuaContext FileName=‘IGE_MainButton’ ID=‘MainButton’ /> was inserted - and everything works as usual again!
peter.popp65 18 Oct, 2024 @ 5:47am
In the file ‘IGE_Window.xml’ I cannot find the sub-item ‘MainButton’ either, let alone the line <TextButton ID=‘MainButton’ Anchor=‘R,T’ Offset=‘340,6’ Font=‘TwCenMT20’ NormalState=‘Beige_Black’ MouseOver=‘White_Black’ ButtonDown="Beige_Black_Alpha’
String="[ICON_CAPITAL] IGE [ICON_CAPITAL]’ ToolTip="[COLOR_POSITIVE_TEXT]Open or close ingame editor (Ctrl + i)[ENDCOLOR][NEWLINE]Right-click to toggle options.’ />
peter.popp65 17 Oct, 2024 @ 11:28am
All points under ‘INSTALLATION TROUBLESHOOTING’ (points 1 to 3) have been taken into account or eliminated, but the icon is still not available during the game. The tragic thing is that the old IGE for reloading is no longer available. This is currently ruining my previous gaming experience. Please revise your new mod so that everything works as before. Otherwise I will stop playing CIV V with mods.
peter.popp65 17 Oct, 2024 @ 6:09am
The mod is easy to download and activate, but at the beginning and during the game there is no IGE symbol on the screen for activation during the game. The file is available in the folder and saved in full.

Is this no longer compatible with RtP? I keep getting crashes loading both.
Majestät 22 Sep, 2024 @ 3:47pm
This mod randomly corrupts the UI, particularly the icons. Sometimes they're black squares, and other times they're red binary codes, can even happen to backgrounds.
Arthur Pendragon 7 Sep, 2024 @ 6:17am
@29spencerpeck You wrote you've installed v.46
I've subscribed to this mod here some years ago but it hasn't updated past version v.39

How did you install v46?
Treehugger 4 Sep, 2024 @ 11:20pm
Btw, this mod seems to only download in game, and not via Steam browser it seems (late Aug 2024). The mods downloaded themselves it seems, or my impression, after starting the game and enabling mods inside the game.
Treehugger 4 Sep, 2024 @ 11:18pm
Q: Is is possible to just use the map editor to create the land mass and its fetures, and then let the game engine populat the new saved map with randomly placed resources?
chiles toreados 31 Aug, 2024 @ 6:05pm
doesn't work. any edit immediately breaks the game.
Skatman 30 Aug, 2024 @ 4:00am
I've done a bit of digging and it appears this mod is having an issue with one of the R.E.D. mods stated earlier (which was always my guess, tbh). Not sure if you're still supporting/updating this mod - but thanks in advance if you are.
Skatman 30 Aug, 2024 @ 2:55am
Hey, apologies for this, but I'm getting the following error:

"IGE couldn't start, probably because of another mod.

- Please report it on Steam or CivFanatics with error below and the mod name so that I can fix it quickly.
line F:\(Path to IGE)\Panels\IGE_UnitsPanel.lua:89: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)"

Mods I'm using:

- City-State Diplomacy Mod (v. 14)
- Culturally Linked Start Locations (v. 4)
- InfoAddict (v. 22)
- Ingame Editor (v.39)
- R.E.D. DLL For BNW (v. 9)
- R.E.D. HotFix (v. 3)
- R.E.D. Modpack (V. 27)
- R.E.D. Xtended (v. 3)
- R.E.D. Xtreme (v. 27)
- Yet (not) Another Earth Massive (v. 22)
- Ynaemp City States for BNW (v. 1)
- YnAEMP DLL Leader fix for BNW (v. 2).
29spencerpeck 29 Aug, 2024 @ 12:24am
I got an error text trying to open IGE v.46 with Community Patch v.137, InfoAddict v. 22, Really Advanced Setup v.15, Vox Populi v.17, VP - EUI Compatibility Files v.1 with InGame Editor+ v.46. I had the same issue with IGE v.39, then downloaded v. 46 and got the same error text for v.46.
Error text is: IGE_CityBanner.lua:172: attempt to index local 'city' (a nil value). The same error occurred with v.39
FallTec 27 Aug, 2024 @ 12:19pm
It works perfectly even with bunch of DLL mods, no problems here
Creeping Death 21 Aug, 2024 @ 5:02am
Is there any possability to include antiquti sites? There is only archaeological sites, but that only gives the option to build landmarks, not get an artifact. I am playing with vox populi mod, do not know if that makes a difference.
Sekene 16 Aug, 2024 @ 2:05pm
cool, no longer working. Don't lose your time
