Just build a regular chair, sitting pillow or something, pawns behave more reliably for guard duty sitting in those than using this mod.

For those that use this mod for guarding your outpost gates. Your guys will just stand there unless you give them the "attack enemies" job on higher priority. Do this by shift clicking an enemy then set the job higher than the guard post job. Now they will act just like NPC town guards.

they should leave the animation automatically and attack nearby enemies, instead they just waiting and got attacked

I'm confused about this mod, what's the difference between that and putting sitting stations in front of your gate? And the torch doesn't seem to work.

Is good mod, but idk why sometimes my guards gots bugged and they cannot go throught the door anymore, and then they got stucked there

This is a simple mod that has never given me reason to remove it. My only wish is that I could place the guard posts in a city I don't own (the gates of Hub).

Assign a "attack enemies" automated task just above the guardpost task, that should fix the issue.

@kingbyron, Give them the attacking enemies order by shift+right clicking on someone attacking you, and then put that above the guard duty task and they should react properly.

I'm gonna take a stab at expanding this mod. I use these all the time to get my folks to stay in their personal themed building (i.e blacksmith, sweatshop, clinic, etc). But i've always wanted more poses. All my civilians standing around with crossed arms just makes it look like they are really pissed off that i'm bothering them.

Its works fine for me with 100++ mods i have at this moment. If, units assigned to the guard post ignore it.. just make new on. Sometimes its happen to me, but not always.

I'm not sure the mod is working properly for me. When I have a character assigned to the guardpost they will not leave the post even to fight. Groups of bandits will attack them and they will stand still being attacked and taking damage and not enter combat unless manually told to. Am I missing something?

thank you, perfect DEV's should have implemented such things to have people on Guards, something u set a job too, right click on gate while holding shift or something ,and have up to 5 characters be able to job it , and each one take a set positon depending on how many assigned ot it, not diffcult for them to implement but would b nice

I can say that the mod works... most of the time. There were few instances where I would put on of the guardposts (the carpet kind. I didn't see any torch type) and it just wouldn't work with me. It's also impossible to disassemble it too now that it somehow merged with the ground.

But I believe it's caused by the gate that is placed nearby. Might have to check.

Hello, by putting a torch on the big portal, when I make come a character, it is difficult to walk on the portal (it refuses to circulate), even after removing the torch, there is always a gene to circulate Am I the only one to experience this problem ? (sorry for my bad English, i speak French)

Since this game has picked up traction in recent time, and, therefore, this mod might see more use, here's a heads-up for newcomers:

As far as I can tell from following the snarky instructions previously posted, all of the problems that existed have been fixed. The guard functionality has been changed from BF_ANY to BF_GATE already, and the hunger rate was set to 1.

It should all be taken care of, so, unless there's a unique problem popping up for you, ignore the rest of the comments.

Subscribe to the mod, copy it out of steam workshop files into Kenshi mod files, open it with Kenshi's Forgotten Construction Set, change one parameter, save. Any steps that you don't know how to do are easily googlable.

Solid mod. Idk if it's something I'll use yet seeing as I've barely scratch the surface when it comes to base building, but you get an upvote based on concept alone. Also I find it hilarious that Kenshi fans are the type to complain when something is more convenient as opposed to the opposite, namely the guards not needing to eat. Not judging, I get it, I just think it's a funny reversal of expectations.:happy_creep:

Nice mod. Used it, still works, only trouble with it, sometimes the mats disappear on scertain terrain if it is not leveled. Other than that, it works as intended.

@Narsil [SB_FTW] People do eat, they will leave their post to go eat food. I've seen them do it.

Really nice mod, but it missing a value for the guard function. You need to add "Hunger rate" and set it to 1 (or whatever number you prefer), otherwise people assigned to this task will not need to eat.

Hey, the mod is great, but there's a small issue - when they're assigned to the post, their hunger rate goes to 0, could you fix that?

Also, would it be possible to have a third model option like a chair or a sitting box?

I remember when i made something like this to Evil Genius using Pressure Pad and fool around with in game time-zones and smoke/chat animations. Rug huh? NICE =}
