Hmmmm, good old times

Is this still needed within the current gameplay after all the changes with 2.0 afterwards? If so, would you please update this mod?

@Ashura Of cause not
Ashura 22 Jan, 2018 @ 4:39am
is this achievement compatible?
[THJ] Barton 13 Nov, 2017 @ 5:36am
would there possibly be a way to revert the "Cannot build spacestations out of your own borders" thing?
Swole4Jesus 4 Aug, 2017 @ 5:27am
Would it be at all possible for you to make a version that only resets the range and HP to pre-1.6? I really don't feel like I need to pack in a boatload of stations, but 200 is just stupid. Feels like a waste of effort to make a single station even with the new higher health, but at the same time I'm not trying to make an unstoppable defensive line.

@Synkro, changed version number back to 1.6.x from 1.7.x
MrLaplace  [author] 19 Jun, 2017 @ 11:55am
@Cacodemon, I am aware of the "double design".
This mod uses his own file and does NOT alther the vanilla "00_ship_sizes.txt"
=> both versions are visible in the ship designer

For the AI Empire:
I just created a new game and used the console command: mature_galaxy (simulates a 100 years old galaxy.)
All regular empire used the station design from this mod.
But they are not building more stations or start to turtle in systems with station.
=> They behave like in vanilla (mostly one station per system)
Synkro 18 Jun, 2017 @ 5:14pm
Do you plan on moving this to 1.6.2?
CacoSteven 15 Jun, 2017 @ 1:44am
Btw, does the AI utilize or benefit from this mod?
CacoSteven 15 Jun, 2017 @ 1:41am
Are you aware that this mod causes duplicate defense stations to be listed in the ship designer when creating a new design?

The mod still works, but it's horribly confusing and I kept making new station designs with the vanilla settings and kept wondering why my station distances weren't working as advertised. Then I realized there are 2 copies of each station in the ship designer and I was unknowingly using the vanilla stations.

I wasn't exactly faithful to your numbers. I figured that there probably don't need to be more than 16*6 M plasma cannons in one place, especially when they're getting huge buffs to RoF+Shields and the possibility of another few layers of KA exists.
robin's_egg 20 May, 2017 @ 11:51pm
Alright, I've got two versions ready, only one question remains: How did you get around overwriting 00_ship_sizes.txt to modify the military stations?
MrLaplace  [author] 20 May, 2017 @ 2:06am
@dirkleton, of course you can release it :)

post the link here, I will add it in the description.
robin's_egg 20 May, 2017 @ 12:18am
Okay, so I've made the 'compatibility' mod: do I have your permission to release it?
robin's_egg 17 May, 2017 @ 12:56am
@MrLaplace
Yes, it works, the conflict is that your military station changes overwrite their change to military stations: they lose out on the dedicated power slot that SPP gives.

All that's needed for compatibility is to add:
required_component_set = "powerstation_components"
to each military station. I think. This is what I've been reading off the mod's comments page.

I can do it myself if you don't care: I'll credit you with the base mod and link to yours, but by default a 'compatibility patch' would entirely replace the need for the original mod so I figure I should ask permission first.

OK IC THANKS
MrLaplace  [author] 15 May, 2017 @ 9:41am
@Waterkey, theoretical the AI could do it, but I have never seen it in my game.
MrLaplace  [author] 15 May, 2017 @ 9:39am
@BlueFoxLord & dirkleton,
sadly I can not provide any compatibility with Ship Power Stations.
I am completely lack the modding skills to do so :steamsad:

But I downloaded Ship Power Stations and took a quick look.
At my game it seem not conflict with my mod.
I am able to build station as close as always???
Have you try it with both mods enabled? (Ship Power Stations + my mod)

If I was just lucky, maybe that can help you:
A workaround for your demand, would be to edit the parameters in Ship Power Stations File: "00_ship_sizes.txt" by yourself (local / mod folder)
Just edit the parameters there, as seen above in my mod description.
(Then you can unsubscribe my mod, but keep in mind with every update from Ship Power Stations you have to do the edit again...)

This is the Mod I've bee looking for!!! REALLYYYY COOLLLL. but Ai construct multiple fortresses at the same place too as human do?

seconding Ship Power Stations compatibility request
AvalosDragon 11 May, 2017 @ 10:10am
Great mod, would it be possible to have a compatibility mod with Ship power stations?
Uthred 10 May, 2017 @ 5:00pm
Thanks for the update
MrLaplace  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 8:01am
This mod edits some parameter of the default player station types in a separate file.
If other mods override the "00_ship_sizes.txt" it "can" cause compatibility problems.
Soulbinder 9 Apr, 2017 @ 4:18am
Does this mod work with other mods that overwrite the files 00_ship_sizes.txt?
dRuPpI 8 Apr, 2017 @ 7:07am
yep works THX :steamhappy:
MrLaplace  [author] 8 Apr, 2017 @ 6:56am

Thanks!

Version text changed to 1.4.1
@gundamwing01323, it should work.
gundamwing01323 6 Dec, 2016 @ 12:36pm
Does this mod still work with the horizon signal update?
drakon8 18 Nov, 2016 @ 10:30pm
Hello, your mod block "Ship Power Stations" on military stations.
MrLaplace  [author] 11 Nov, 2016 @ 7:15am
Version text changed to 1.3.2, annoying red exclamation mark should be disappeared :-)

Steam Workshop - MOD description repaired...
Evil Pride 11 Nov, 2016 @ 1:23am
can you update plz
LordXenophon 7 Nov, 2016 @ 6:00am
I wouldn't mind seeing a system as tough as Xalen's, for a change. I usually get pushovers who can't even destroy a corvette.
Xalen 30 Oct, 2016 @ 4:51pm
Only problem with this was i was that one ai faction had fucking so many stations that it destroyed my entire fleet and then they invaded me and i lose the game, lol, but besides that (which was probs a result of an interfering mod or some shit) this mod is amazing
Darloth 29 Oct, 2016 @ 11:47am
Thanks for your idea, I've borrowed it and applied it to other mods I'm using that do need to edit the vanilla 00_ship_sizes.txt.

Pity Stellaris can't do proper Lua table merges... if only all games could let their mods play nice together like Factorio or KSPModuleManager.

The idea is wonderful though and I love it already, so I uprated despite having to unsubscribe for technical issues :)
MrLaplace  [author] 29 Oct, 2016 @ 10:49am
HI Darloth,
at first I also thought it can work only with the few lines about the no build radius, but it did not.

Thx for your input, I made an update for the mod.
Removed the data about ships and civil stations out of my modfile
Darloth 29 Oct, 2016 @ 8:48am
Hmm, didn't help.

Now I have a bunch of undefined stations, so it looks like at least the entire station block will need to be included.

However, you can and really should delete all the stuff about ships from your file, it will help.
Darloth 29 Oct, 2016 @ 8:44am
You've included the entire 00_ship_sizes file along with your changes, so, despite not overriding the vanilla file, you're still introducing a load of mod compatibility issues. Mostly because this means there are two copies of every ship size defined, and this messes up anything else that changes them.

I've tried removing just about everything EXCEPT the lines about the stations build block radius to see if this helps. Results in the next comment.
Shadow_Wolf 28 Oct, 2016 @ 6:06pm
Great, now my stations can truely support one another, instead of being destroyed 1 by 1
Falco 28 Oct, 2016 @ 3:02pm
Thanks, mil stations can finally do their damn job
