This mod uses his own file and does NOT alther the vanilla "00_ship_sizes.txt"
=> both versions are visible in the ship designer
For the AI Empire:
I just created a new game and used the console command: mature_galaxy (simulates a 100 years old galaxy.)
All regular empire used the station design from this mod.
But they are not building more stations or start to turtle in systems with station.
=> They behave like in vanilla (mostly one station per system)
The mod still works, but it's horribly confusing and I kept making new station designs with the vanilla settings and kept wondering why my station distances weren't working as advertised. Then I realized there are 2 copies of each station in the ship designer and I was unknowingly using the vanilla stations.
I wasn't exactly faithful to your numbers. I figured that there probably don't need to be more than 16*6 M plasma cannons in one place, especially when they're getting huge buffs to RoF+Shields and the possibility of another few layers of KA exists.
post the link here, I will add it in the description.
Yes, it works, the conflict is that your military station changes overwrite their change to military stations: they lose out on the dedicated power slot that SPP gives.
All that's needed for compatibility is to add:
required_component_set = "powerstation_components"
to each military station. I think. This is what I've been reading off the mod's comments page.
I can do it myself if you don't care: I'll credit you with the base mod and link to yours, but by default a 'compatibility patch' would entirely replace the need for the original mod so I figure I should ask permission first.
sadly I can not provide any compatibility with Ship Power Stations.
I am completely lack the modding skills to do so
But I downloaded Ship Power Stations and took a quick look.
At my game it seem not conflict with my mod.
I am able to build station as close as always???
Have you try it with both mods enabled? (Ship Power Stations + my mod)
If I was just lucky, maybe that can help you:
A workaround for your demand, would be to edit the parameters in Ship Power Stations File: "00_ship_sizes.txt" by yourself (local / mod folder)
Just edit the parameters there, as seen above in my mod description.
(Then you can unsubscribe my mod, but keep in mind with every update from Ship Power Stations you have to do the edit again...)
If other mods override the "00_ship_sizes.txt" it "can" cause compatibility problems.
@gundamwing01323, it should work.
Steam Workshop - MOD description repaired...
Pity Stellaris can't do proper Lua table merges... if only all games could let their mods play nice together like Factorio or KSPModuleManager.
The idea is wonderful though and I love it already, so I uprated despite having to unsubscribe for technical issues :)
at first I also thought it can work only with the few lines about the no build radius, but it did not.
Thx for your input, I made an update for the mod.
Removed the data about ships and civil stations out of my modfile
Now I have a bunch of undefined stations, so it looks like at least the entire station block will need to be included.
However, you can and really should delete all the stuff about ships from your file, it will help.
I've tried removing just about everything EXCEPT the lines about the stations build block radius to see if this helps. Results in the next comment.
