I guess that would just be your Belegar and Ancestor retexturing as a separate mod. Not sure how that is with retexturing being an issue right now.

Could you make a version of this that has only the retexture and reskin without changes to the faction uniform colors and banner change? Just wondering. Wanted to combine a recolor with this but they're not compatible.

I see. Yeah, I can't keep up with the changes they make from patch to patch in the files. I just saw some simple recolors of the Treemen factions and thought it might be possible, but it seems like simple is all that's realistic right now.

@Frei - Alll graphical mods are on hold at the moment as CA figures out their texture file format or someone finds a fix so that we can edit them. There are a few of the old format which have allowed us to edit Orion and a few others but the main unit roster cannot be edited at this time. I have a things planned for the Wood Elves though so keep an eye out when our access gets fixed :)

Having watched this from the start, this is a damn fine and comprehensive reskin, great detail. Are you working on anything right now? I'd love to see the new Wood Elf faction (the actual Elves, not the Trees) recolored similarly, not necessarily in black, but maybe a red and gold or something like that.

Yes, the circular portraits, last time I was playing as Empire, Belegar was showing his original armor colors in the diplomacy/overview screen, thank you for your time :KneelingBow:

@Roque - Ah I think I know what you mean now. The circular ones on the map while the trade window is open? I will have to have a look when I'm off work tonight. All the Battle icons and unit portraits should be showing the black recolour but I will check to see where that one is pulling from, thanks for the catch!

The one in the overview when you're viewing trade partners on the map, he shows blue armor, I think thats related to the battle loading screen, didja you edit those as well?

@Mad Orse - You definitely could alter them yourself! If you want to go that route you will need two programs (see below). It is a bit of a process so if you would like add me and I can walk you through it or send you a bit of a how-to. Magnar has some amazing tutorials as well so feel free to check those out as he goes into depth how to do everything for a wide variety of mods.

@Roque - Which overview card do you mean? I'm afraid I dont know how to edit the loop clip of Belegar but his unit card and faction leader portraits should all show the black colours.

The ethereal ancestors look amazing, great work! The gold really makes them feel unique and important, not to mention easier to keep track of in the melee, especially when you're a weirdo like me playing with unit banners off.

@P4antz Thanks! But I also read emcdunna's comment! So if I find this WSmodels and set the intensity to 0 I could alter the ethereals myself..?
I have no experience of modding, so perhaps I need certain tools to open up and alter these things? =P

Would it be possible for you to make a version where the Ethereals look alive? I personally find them very out of place in my dwarven armies!

P4ntz, ethereals work because of WSmodels, which put a layer of texture on top of the model below. They link to XML material files, which specifically say the color and intensity of that top layer.

All you have to do is import the xml files for the ethereal dwarfs, edit the part where it talks about "intensity" to a lower number, and the "ethereal-ness" of them will be reduced. Set it to 0 and they will look like regular characters.

Thanks to you both! :) I just got a rework of one of his skills done as well so I may release that tomorrow. Essentially Belegar does not get the proper "Grimnirs Heirs" talent I think it's called, it's the red line and gives buffs to your end game infantry. It's replaced by "Reclamation" which gives a charge bonus to your entire army which is great but an odd choice as the lack of +12 MA and MD makes Belegars army quite a lot weaker than a Dwarf throng led by a regular Dwarf lord (depending of course on if you are using your later tier units). Currently working loads so I'll see what I can get out to you guys in the next little bit here.

@Frei - I can give you a full path to them when I get home but I'm currently working to see if I can get the gyrocopters to pull more from the faction uniforms table. Right now I totally agree they are a weird mesh of colours mixed with hints of your faction colour. I'll keep you poosted and update this mod when I finish it!

I'm a novice myself, are the gyrocopters on a different table? I can't figure out how to change their coloring. Their default is so ugly.
