Nice mod.
The cost keeps it balanced.
It would be nice if it could add water as well so that I could dig moats around my cities.:tl2engineer::steamthumbsup:

I seem to recall issues with distinguishing between surface and underground usage. I think it was safer if no climate alterations applied underground.
Bobfinfur 13 May, 2021 @ 3:55pm
any chance you could make a cleanse the land spell for underground?

Research Advanced Terraforming.

How do you unlock raise/lower mountain? I've used them before, so I know they work correctly, but I started a new game and now they're not "there" with Plant Forest, Fertile Land, Etc.
HousePet  [author] 6 Sep, 2019 @ 10:15pm
It might be. Not really sure. Can't remember how I coded it.
Zahnrad 6 Sep, 2019 @ 9:05am
Is it possible to make building mountains as instant as removing them? It's currently a rather slow process as you have to cast it, go back into the menu, cast it again, go back into the menu. etc.
HousePet  [author] 6 Sep, 2019 @ 4:31am
I suspect its doable, but it might lose the within boundaries. Not sure as I haven't looked at it for a while.
The reason you can't target Forts is because it creates a temporary structure that only lasts 1 turn to make the change. So it can't be in the same hex as another structure.
Working around this would require a complete rewrite.

Terraforming Tweaks would give you access to the Wetlands Empire spell with Water Mastery. Its a bit more in depth than this mod, as this is a simpler version of Terraforming Tweaks to give everyone better Overlay manipulation. Terraforming Tweaks does Climate manipulation as well, but it much more Specialisation dependent.

Oh, hi. I was talking about the vanilla spell. It needs to be within boundaries and it can not be cast on top of forts. So, is your mod able to do that? I have been using the water master drench land spell for happy goblins in wetland forts and even small settlements. I was hopin' a mod could work around that vanilla terraform limitation to work for any race's preferred terrain.
HousePet  [author] 5 Sep, 2019 @ 5:21pm
? Which terraforming spells don't work under Forts?
If you mean the standard ones from the Terraforming Skill, I would have to entirely rewrite them to be instant, which then means you could use the offensively (I think).
Perhaps the Terraforming Tweaks spells would work better if you want happy Forts? (Its got more creep terraforming.)
Herr Derrierr 5 Sep, 2019 @ 1:27pm
Hello! Could you make terraforming work on a hex with a fort in the way? That way terrain morale bonuses could be applied to the defenders. Maybe add an instant use function kinda like the water drenching wetlands spell.
HousePet  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 6:34pm
I guess so. But the elemental specialisations already have that covered.
Frettchen 27 Jul, 2019 @ 9:21pm
is it possible to add biome change skills to it?
HousePet  [author] 21 Jul, 2019 @ 5:30pm
It should target the Blocked Water Overlay and replace it with the Water Overlay.
Its entirely possible that it is broken though.
Zahnrad 17 Jul, 2019 @ 6:12pm
How exactly does the "Remove rapids" thing work? I thought it referred to river tiles with rocks poking out, but apparently not.
HousePet  [author] 17 Jul, 2019 @ 5:55pm
Nope, I didn't add anything for Coastal Mountains or Ice.
Zahnrad 17 Jul, 2019 @ 3:05pm
Seems with this mod I can't alter coastal mountains or ice.
Zahnrad 17 Jul, 2019 @ 4:34am
Ah, so you can't change underground to temperature or etc even with mods? darn.
HousePet  [author] 12 Jan, 2017 @ 5:02pm
I'll give it a look when I can, but I think I've lost the base mod files for this mod.
Neal_Mac 12 Jan, 2017 @ 12:18pm
Ok, never mind. I see you already stated that the game is fussy about underground terraforming. Too bad. WOuld have loved to be able to do some work with the canyon walls.
Neal_Mac 12 Jan, 2017 @ 12:16pm
How about canyon walls? I would love to be able to make it harder to bring multiple stack up to my Giant's home. Make it so thay have to come up the canyon single file.
AKATiberSeptim 6 Jan, 2017 @ 4:11pm
Could you lower the level to unlock the skill, I am realy only seeing your terraforming skill around trun 150-200. Most of the time I try to combined both terraforming tools, trying to get the look and feel for my cities that I want. But by turn 200 I have laid down most of my empire. And another thing is that I feel that the spell cost to much. These changes are just what I would do. I am not that skilled at moding and the package manager does not alow changeing of imported files, so... I do love the mod. However, just some things that I would do considering how i use the mod.
HousePet  [author] 8 Dec, 2016 @ 1:34am
Game is pretty fussy about underground terraforming.
76561198027460951 8 Dec, 2016 @ 12:53am
That makes sense. Sorry. Seems I mistook Archdruids Wild Growth for one of your spells and got confused that only he had it and no one else. I mean it is just a terraforming spell anyway.
Now if only there was an AoE spell to transform terrain into barren that works in the underground (like Defoliate). Purge the land is good enough on the surface though.
Anyway, thanks a bunch and my bad for code "poking". :)
HousePet  [author] 6 Dec, 2016 @ 4:09pm
And this is why you don't attempt to find out what is in a mod by code diving.
None of those other spells actually exist in the mod. I just used the xml file from Terraforming Tweaks to save time.
Raise/Lower Land/Water doesn't work, so you can't get it.
76561198027460951 6 Dec, 2016 @ 3:36am
First, thank you for a really great mod. :)
I've downloaded the mod a week ago... But I've got one problem. Second Terraformer upgrade unlocks only half of the spells for me (at least according to the xml).
I'll get the Blight the land, Freeze the land, Raise Mountains (1 hex radius and target), Lower mountains (only target), Scorch the land, Warp the land, Lower rapids, Purge the land and Drench the land regardless of class.
But the rest are still locked behind the class restriction (Archdruid, Drednaught, Necromancer, Theocrat...) :( Like the Empire, domain and huge area terraform spells.
It's not a big problem (except the domain spells) and you can work arround it, but please, could you maybe fix it, or share the raw mod files for a DIY fix? And is there a reason the raise/lower land/water spell is unobtainable?
Regardless, really thank you for your hard work. :)
HousePet  [author] 3 Dec, 2016 @ 7:01pm
I made it very quickly, so it has gaps.
Marianojoey 3 Dec, 2016 @ 2:50pm
Yeap, I finally used it. It's very nice, but it'd be cool to have more posibilities to affect volcanic terrain, or let any kind of terrain be affected by all the powers.
Anyway, very nice mod. :D
Olorin 28 Nov, 2016 @ 4:10am
Oh nice, i wanted this since I played Warlock :p
Marianojoey 26 Nov, 2016 @ 6:46pm
Ah, ok, didn't find that tech yet, then. :P
HousePet  [author] 26 Nov, 2016 @ 5:47pm
You need to research the extra Terraformer skill. Which due to me forgetting to change the xml file, is also called Terraformer. XD
Marianojoey 26 Nov, 2016 @ 9:24am
I'll rate it up anyway, because the idea behind it is a good one and needed. :)
Marianojoey 26 Nov, 2016 @ 9:23am
mmmh, perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but I have this mod as active, I don't have TT installed, and yet, when I get Terraforming, the only options I get are always the same simple four from the basic game.

Does your mod need to develope a particular knowledge, doesn't show for certain races or needs earth magic?
Cain 23 Nov, 2016 @ 7:40pm
That would probably be a good idea.
HousePet  [author] 23 Nov, 2016 @ 5:07pm
How abouts I remove this erronious DLC required flags instead?
Cain 23 Nov, 2016 @ 8:00am
This mod requires downloadable content. Please edit the page to reflect this.
darth.cygnus 20 Nov, 2016 @ 2:10am
That was just... so fucking greatly needed! Thank you, good sir, for this amazing mod: work like a charm!
