any chance your thinking of making the dune worms one of the naitive lifeforms on planet and make some technology and or building that can profit from hunting them clearing the tile ?

It'd be interesting if these buildings provided some Defence Armies. I mean, they're basically a variant of the Stronghold/Fortress.

Wonderful mod any chance to introduce defensive units such as Gun Turret(effective against infantry and tanks) , Rocket Turret ( Improved version of Gun Turret)

Update to game version 1.8.3 online. Machine empires are now also able to build the colony structures.

Cannot seem to build a dust refinery got the tech.But the building is greyed out, got everything needed it also has a green check saying always.Guess it needs a update?

Machine Empires can't build the buildings(Which is possibly fitting, given the Butlerian Jihad). Their versions of Ship Shelter/Planet Admin/Planet Capital are named different.

@tolaburke: hm, that's a good point. Maybe a Palace or depending on your ethics an Empire Parliament instead, as an upgrade for the Empire Capital-Complex, could give the homeworld the additional boost ;) Both with unique units to train.
By the way I'm going to work on an addition to the Heavy Vehicle Factory - the IX Facility. This building will grant the ability to train ethic unique units. Devastator Tank, Sonic Tank, i.e.
but since the next update will change some of them I guess I have to wait first :(

You need the Colony Outpost/Command Centre to build the Vehicle Factory. You can't build the Colony Outpost on the homeworld.

Fine, you can't build combat equipment on the homeworld. But this also means the capital planet can't be protected by Missile Tanks unless you mess around with changing captials, since defensive-type forces can't leave the planet they're built on.

Unless they're not tagged as Defensive. Hmm.

Minor thinking: The Combat Tank Division is meant to represent things like the Devastator Tank(The Mammoth before the Mammoth was a thing) and Siege Tank. Fair enough. But the other houses had their equivalents: the Sonic Tank(Body-piercing damage), and Deviator(Turned things to your side). Maybe units based more on Morale damage?

That's right, Zro has in some sort similar characteristics to the melange.
But since the update there are only two "local resources" left: alien pets and betharian stone.
Melange could be an addition to them - mostly found on dry planets. And maybe pundi rice or soostone to balance this out.

Ornithopters, anyone? Also appeared in books and games and were the primary air attack force for every faction.

Melange? Zro is already an analogue to it, and that should be kept in mind.

I saw the title and thought Dune 2 for the Sega and dune 2000 on PS1,tears,there are mods on Star Wars,Star Trek to Babylon 5,Mass effect,Dune there is no full mods in House:Atreides,Harkonnen,Karrino,Kimaki,Great intelligence machines-Omnius,it is a pity that the universe is underrated and forgotten((
