This is due to the reforms of the Greek army. After learning the "Hellenization" technology, the garrisons will recover.
chocokaran67 28 Aug, 2023 @ 1:02pm
I was playing as Epirus. I just I had 4 troops in Apollonia and 5 in the horse settlement.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 28 Aug, 2023 @ 11:21am
What faction are you playing?
chocokaran67 28 Aug, 2023 @ 9:09am
There's a bug, using this with your better garrisons mod resets the garrisons back to vanilla.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 25 Dec, 2022 @ 9:06am
They were cataphracts of the Sakas, not the Sarmatians, they are not similar to those depicted on Trajan's column.
-(SH)- Nummer90 25 Dec, 2022 @ 5:22am
Hey man, why did you remove the cataphracts from the Getae? Sarmatians and Dacians were historical allies
Made more sense before
Axland 24 Oct, 2022 @ 12:29am
A common sense mod, thank you.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 26 Jul, 2022 @ 11:17am
this is probably due to the fact that the Scythians assimilated into Greek culture much later, and therefore the Scythian hoplites appeared later
Narldevan 24 Jul, 2022 @ 11:27am
Scythian hoplites are tier 3 even though hoplites are tier 1, possible to replace or invert?
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 23 Jul, 2022 @ 12:27pm
And what is the problem with the Scythian hoplites?
Narldevan 21 Jul, 2022 @ 8:56am
Can you fix Scythian Hoplite for Cimmerian?
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 29 May, 2022 @ 10:36am
Definitely not with DEI, maybe it works with Radiоus. You can try.
trevino.adolfo2 26 May, 2022 @ 1:09pm
Does this work with either DEI or radious mods?
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 5 Mar, 2022 @ 2:19am
No
Kharn the Bloody 2 Mar, 2022 @ 1:07am
This mod still working with DeI 1.3?
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 9 Sep, 2021 @ 2:01pm
This is historically accurate. Reforms took place in the Roman army. In the era of Gaius Marius, the Triarii were no longer present. The spearmen were mercenary warriors, and later they served in auxiliary cohorts
isna 8 Sep, 2021 @ 12:47pm
is there any way to make triarri recruitable even in late game? its dumb that triarri are replaced witg veteran legionaires which are worse
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 5 Sep, 2021 @ 11:43am
Yes, that's a great idea.
isna 5 Sep, 2021 @ 7:01am
maybe would you consider adding celtic bowman to galatia, or sirian archers?
tonetone 1 Sep, 2021 @ 12:57pm
Actually Andrew if you could add all the missing multi player units to the Grand Campaign factions that would be awesome. That way each roster seems more full.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 1 Sep, 2021 @ 12:35pm
Yes, maybe I will do it soon
tonetone 31 Aug, 2021 @ 6:17pm
This mod is so useful I don't understand why some units that are found in multi player are not available in campaign. Andrew can you add the Disciples of Apedemak to the Kush recruitment in GC? I think they should be a level 4 barracks unit same as Armored Shotel Warriors. Would be really nice to see this and maybe for more factions as well.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 20 Jul, 2021 @ 7:32am
Thanks for the feedback
Lean cat 17 Jul, 2021 @ 8:30pm
Andrew i wanted to say you did an amazing job, im a bit of a nerd in that i only use historical mods and so finding this and your others was amazing thank you so much
Daker 20 May, 2021 @ 6:59am
Very good work!
Aslan Ponto 19 Apr, 2021 @ 7:33am
Hi, Andrew. Would you consider adding Thureo Spears and Thorax Swordsmen for Colchis and Cimmeria, and the Thorax Swordsmen unit for the Pergamonese fleet? It's quite odd that it's available as an Admiral but neither for the army (which your mod has already patched) nor for the fleet.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 5:47am
Yes it is possible. I'll think about it
Rai300[ESP] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 1:33pm
its possible to add a replacement of the equites to legionary cavalry in the technology "Cohort Organization" instead of the last tech for the roman imperial army?, cause fighing with equites in a Marian late republican army is really awful xd
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 5 Dec, 2020 @ 12:02am
It is not difficult to do, but I try to make historically accurate mod. In the period III-II centuries BC. there were no more hoplite warriors in Greece. They were replaced by thureos, thorax spears and pikemen.
Aslan Ponto 3 Dec, 2020 @ 12:55pm
Such a great mod. Might you consider adding Veteran Hoplites as recluitable units (same unit as Mercenary Veteran Hoplites but recluitable from the Lv. III Barracks and less maintenance).
bill09xatz 11 Apr, 2020 @ 3:49am
Good Morning my friend first of all I would like to thank you for letting me co-op with you as I don’t know how to make a mod myself. After I opened all my books about military and social/political history books (social/politics always have consequences in the military in all history) and trying to adapt this knowledge in the vanilla units and how to retrain/upgrade and with the combination of your ideas I have come to these conqlusions but always keeping your upgrades that you already have:
bill09xatz 11 Apr, 2020 @ 3:49am

(units with the star mark * are units that either you need to add to these factions or for some damn reason the faction have these units and you cant recruit them). So that’s all that I am suggesting, these reforms that I am suggesting are reforms that did happen historically as Successor Kingdoms had always been fighting external threats/civil wars/and for trying to unite Alexander’s Empire. So it was logic as Rome did later to use local population in their idea (ex.Persian Hellenized Hoplites) and by doing these upgrades you give a special flavor in each faction and every faction now can have negatives and positives that if they survive in the late game they could resist or even push back the roman expansion.Thank you for hearing and letting me give you my ideas.
(Sorry for my English-not my mother language).Have an nice day and hope you agree to these reforms and play asap!!!
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 10 Apr, 2020 @ 12:22pm
Sure. I am open to new ideas and suggestions
bill09xatz 10 Apr, 2020 @ 9:01am
Hello my friend again I wonder if you would like to give you some ideas/suggestions for some reforms I have come with...those that I wil suggest you are historical and some of them are mistakes that CA propably didn't have the intetion to correct them.So I'll be waiting for your answer.Keep up your great work!!!
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 10 Apr, 2020 @ 2:13am
I have corrected. Thanks for the feedback.
bill09xatz 10 Apr, 2020 @ 1:54am
Thank you my friend for hearing me,I didn't mean to insult in any way I just told you what I saw as you said that we that use your mod to send you any suggestions/bugs...Have a nice day!
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 9 Apr, 2020 @ 11:48pm
OK. I will add Sarrisa Cav to Athens and Epirus. As for the reforms, they are not only among the Romans, but also in Carthage.
bill09xatz 9 Apr, 2020 @ 1:54pm
Also another terrible thing in the game is that except Rome no other faction can retrain/uprgade their units like Hellenes they should be able to upgrade Levy pikes>>Pikes>>Thorax Pikes and just there not to any special unit like Silvershields Pikes...Thx again.
bill09xatz 9 Apr, 2020 @ 1:50pm
I played with Egypt and since the beggining of the game I could recruit Thorax Hoplites,I agree with your historical aproach all I am suggesting that in the middle and late game there should be no regular Hoplte except the special unit of Athens/Syracuse which is a general unit nd I imagine it can not be changed,so what I am suggesting is that Hoplites/Thureos Hoplites/Light Hoplites to transform into Thorax Spearmen. The only unit that might not change should be the Militia Hoplites as they were peasants with no training and they would pick up a spear and hoplon and defend their town/city.What about the Sarrisa Cav to Athens and Epirus??Can you add this unit to these faction and upgrade them to Thessalian Cav just like Macedon as they would also use Sarrisa and Thessalian Cav.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 9 Apr, 2020 @ 9:51am
In the middle of the 3rd century BC the Greek armies no longer had hoplites. The main units were the Thureos Spears and Thorax Spearmen. In this mod, I replaced hoplites with Thorax Spearmen after studying the ""Remuneration Reforms" technology. This cannot happen at the beginning of the game. If you notice the appearance of Thorax Hoplites at the very beginning of the game, please tell me which faction it happened?
bill09xatz 8 Apr, 2020 @ 9:41am
Hello my friend, first of all congrats for your great work, secondly I have already been using your great mode but I have noticed a problem with the Hellenic factions...those factions that didn't have Thorax Hoplites suddenly the can recruit them from the beggining of the game,so I am suggesting if you could change this and letting them recruit this unit from III or IV level Barracks. Also if this isn't possible I am suggesting of changing this by adding Light Hoplites and Thureos Hoplites and the mechanization of Athens/Syracuse (Light Hoplites>>Thureos Hoplites>>Thorax Hoplites.)
Also I would like to ask you if you could add Sarrissa Cav to Epirus and Athens and retraining them to Thessalian Cav just as Macedon. Thanks a lot, sorry for my english and keep up your perfect work!!!
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 9 Mar, 2020 @ 4:02am
Thank you!
Seraphim Sword 8 Mar, 2020 @ 11:50am
Thanks for this Mod and many of the others you have done. Keep up the great work, Andrew.
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 20 Jul, 2019 @ 1:35am
Of course it will
tonetone 19 Jul, 2019 @ 9:33pm
Will the AI actually recruit these additions to their armies? Like will Carthage show up with Numidian Nobles on occasion?
Andrew Boyarsky  [author] 25 Jun, 2019 @ 12:26am
Yes, maybe I will add
BVod 24 Jun, 2019 @ 7:56pm
Small request, could you add African Archers for the Maseylli?
