its very nice. but i seem to have a problem with the extra range. when they fire the arrows they come up short all the time. they start hitting the target when they are in the normal range

What's the point in increasing the upkeep, the basic units are already expensive, combined with the poor WE economy.

@Cheese is King: and about the Horse Riders vs. Hawk Riders, Hawk Riders receive already only a smaller ~15% increase, but I lowered it again by some percentage points in this update.

@Hjelmen: if you have units in a generals army without many skills that give bonuses (orion at the start only has speed bonusesfor example) you can look wether your units have the "green bonus colours" at your stat display. If there are many of them especially for Attack, Defence, Range, Morale and Charge than its very probably that my mod works.
@Nexus: ok thanks for the feedback, in my next update in the next hour I will adjust the upkeep for some percentage points.
@Cheese is King: good ideas, will also be part of the next update. I will also give all wev units a small additional resistance against missiles.

After playing twice (around 120 turns) with only your mod installed, I feel like there should be a slight decrease in the upkeep. It's way to hard to cope with another factions in the late game when you can't have more than 1 stack. Just my two cents. :)

so far i am liking it allot, i definitely feels more like elves should.
i am not sure if hawk riders need the 30% more upkeep though. i think it makes them a bit inferior to the horse archers, perhaps 15% increase or something?

And with the way faster fire rate you go out of arrows way fast:P so perhaps 2-3 more arrows for the archers would be nice.

Updated: The mod now only affects real Wood Elf units, no Tree spirits etc. Half Elf-Half Animals get the bonuses to ranged attacks and leadership but no bonuses for Melee as it would make them to strong. Lords also get reduced bonuses, as they are already relatively strong.

@Cheese is King: Hey thats exactly what I plan. But I wanted to put this mod online as early as possible as I really thought WE are to weak. At the moment I am working to create the new data to give only the real elves the bonusses.
I think all WE infantry + WE horse or stag riders will get full bonusses, all Dragon and Hawk units only leadership and ranged weapon bonusses and all Tree spirits no bonus. Otherwise Dragons and Hawks will be to mighty in melee.

@Hje!men: thanks!, Don't think its possible, are you sceptical about the values? ;) (for balancing reasons by now I have reduced the upkeep malus to 29% not 35%)

hey man, like the idea of this mod. Though i think it should only effect the elf units, i feel like the woodland units are fine. but the elven units really lack that "elite" feel that elves should have.

Expensive, few in number but super elite. and keep dryads as their trash t1 units:)

@Mrmarko123: Good point, I am still in the balancing phase and I had a similar thought. originally I thought it was possible to add HP with faction traits, but it is not. So i think the first thing is to reduce the upkeep malus to 10, 20, 30 for the three mods and later I see what I can do with HP. Maybe I give them small ward saves.
At all I think it is better to make the game little bit more difficult, than too easy.

One point, with 35% higher cost - but with no associated HP increase this may be in effect a big nerf.

Against ranged/arty infantry your army is just weaker (die just as fast to those) but you can field much smaller armys.
