Oh by 4 layers I mean 1 solid > 2 wall > 1 solid when possible since that provides protection against both splash and lagshot

If you want to do damage tests let me know I can have the server admin bring out his own pvp creation to help ya find the weak points

I would go 4 layers thick on the sides with 2 thick on windows. Did you notice what I did with the turrets or did you not see that change

Thx for the feedback, especially regarding damage taken. I also like your idea about the lounge. Sounds like the ships you dock are tall and/or wide vs long.

I'll take down the version I have up since you already looked it over. As for xeno steel it works on servers as far as I'm aware since I spawned a BP made of xeno steel already

The Double hanger Door was for protection. I wasnt able to use the smaller bay since none of my ships fit in it and none of my faction members ships could fit in it either so I choose to make it a second 10x5. There was no real way to stick to the original design while addressing all the weakpoints I found in the armor during battle. I'm interested to see what you come up with tho.

Oh 1 thing I made sure to change right away was the core location. I take tons of damage on the nose of the ship in battle and having the core there wasnt very handy. I also decided to expand the garden and will probly rework the lounge under the nose to be a kitchen/food prep

The xeno armor asset is not available for use in ship and base design within Survival games.We're stuck with heavy combat armor.

I see you are still using the 10x5 hanger doors but doubled them. Was this for protection? Is your ultimate goal to increase the interior length of the hanger bay? You've also discovered how changing the hanger affects the design of the hull. Turning a simple change into huge project.

My decision concerning the door size and interior hanger length was to accomodate larger fighter craft. One of my (unpublished) designs barely fits (height and length) in the large hanger of my original design.

My designs tend to be heavy on asthetics and role play aspects. I love the original style of the Xiphos design (see link above). Like you, I wanted to make changes. And the design began to deviate from the sleek original.

Further development will be on my designs. You are welcome to continue making changes to make them your own, with new names of course.

So did you have a chance to look over my changes? I know it looks weird the way I did the extra hangers but I didnt feel like having to redo the entier lower section just to make the hangers even bigger

The xeno steel one is just the combat steel one with all combat steel replaced with xeno steel.

Which one the combat steel or the xeno steel. The frames the same and I have a few tweaks to make on them still. My big thing is taking other peoples work and tweaking it to address what I notice as flaws

I would suggest looking into xeno steel of you want high armor low weight.

I have certainly been considering revisiting several designs to make improvements. It has been awhile since I've played but my PC??? I replaced it as the 8 year old CPU died; the new PC just arrived today. I Haven't even reinstalled Empyrion yet. I am currently rebuilding... as I have virtually none of my original content.

Now the armor is, for the most part 2 blocks thick; using Combat armor (heavy and expensive). As of alpha 6 (it's been awhile), this ship reqiures over 22 real life hours to build, thus the factory list. Adding another layer of armor seems cost prohibitive.

I could look into increasing the hanger size but it might mean removing a layer of armor in the hanger wings. I don't recall what the next hanger door size is or if there is more than one size larger. What ship design would you like to dock? If you could provide a link to that design, I could load it and that would help to know what was needed.

I made all 4 hangers the same size and redid a few textures added more fuel tanks brought weapons in line with new limits

Bigger is not necessarily better so I wouldn't suggest bigger.

Took awhile... O2 generation is a little, buggy. I'm gonna have to rethink my designs.

This ship already takes 22 hrs to build. I've built it on Omicron after practically stripping the Drone base and abandoned factory (?). I'm not sure if it should be any bigger. I'm not sure what you guys think.

Gonna have to look at MKIII and IV before I decide between them, I hadn't really realized you had made all 3 at roughly the same time, I just kinda assumed each MK was a more up to date variant.

Two forward gravity generators were added (model 02), one port and one starboard. I'm not 100% happy with their location as they are adjacent to a large thruster. If that becomes a problem let me know.

Though, it needs another gravity generator closer to the front bridge.
Love the added growing plots, nice to have so many.
