I've added an updated version, no VTOL naccelles anymore (locked now), removed all pistons and rotors as well as attached sub grids. Multiplayer server friendly, though without hydrogen efficiency mod the fuel doesn't last long, and it's a bit underpowered in 1.0 G or higher gravity and may not land or take off if fully loaded with cargo.

Yep, it sure is!

I need to work on an updated version, so many block changes, and the signs were apparently changed after it was created so now there upside down, well it is beta.

NICE!

Could of but peeps like heroic self sacrifice in there movies and it would need much more to be a exploration vessel like rovers and drones even a fighter or two, but these sci-fi movies are unrealistic sadly.

Or they could have crashed Vickers shuttle into the builder ship instead.

They would have also deployed a plethora of satellites to scan the planet, any or all could have been crashed into the builder ship as orbital projectiles.

The other issues are related to proportions and block sizes, such as I can't really make the hangar openings bigger without using mods, will be 4 blocks in one dimension or another. And the Prometheus strangely only carried one shuttle or flight capable attached craft, there were no extra pilots or dropships or smaller scouting ships that could fly, which would make searching a whole planet take months or years with one ship, inneficient in the extreme.

I noticed that in the movie too ... weird, well it doesn't need to be 4x but more on 1.5 - 2x would be more manageable and more performance friendly then real size, so a Prometheus of proteus size would be very acceptable especially with the detail you put into proteus.

I'm not sure an SE ship would work well with a crew of more than 4 - 6 players, and the Promethus has something like 17 crew positions (funny we never see most of the crew in the later part of the movie, they magically disapear about half way through). And a ship that size would be murder on the FPS and game's Sim Speed. I'm trying to keep the Proteus at a maneable size so it has little if any impact on the game's performance. I can paste in two Proteus ships without much impact now, but when I add a third ship my FPS and Sim Speed starts to suffer.

I may try to build a Promethus after this ship is finished, but the Prometeus would be at lease x4 times the size of this proteus class, and the mass involved is a bit beyond what rotors can handle reliably, if I really push this current design's performance/agility with any speed mod applied the Nacelles start to break apart and the connectors fail at around 110 or 125 m/s.

The rotors would not handle Nacelles that are two or three times the size and mass of the current Nacelles if there is any heavy stress applied. If you've played with the Prometheus in the workshop it already has those issues, the Nacells easily break off if block damage is active.

Ever think of building the prometheus cuz it would be a good complememt to fly alongside this.

The rotors work perfectly fine, they auto lock from position to position, its just that the thrusters of everything also gets subsumed by the Whips VTOL script, so every thruster of every attached craft, drop pod, shuttle, docked fighter, etc etc also gets used by the script, even disabled and turned off thrusters get controlled and used by that script, so eventually the deck plates and docking walls get burned away. Not really an issue in space since they thrusters don't burn continuously.

If you can get those rotors working it would be a great exploration vessel.
Trust me peeps under value ships like these so keep up the cool designs.

It's a re-construction of an old design, I'm updating old builds because of the relase of the Beta SE. It's related to the Prometheus class, but the Proteus class was a smaller and more compact design.

Looks like someone watched Prometheus, very cool
