DonCDXX thanks man for help. It took me 3 days to figure it out and to get photoshop and intel dds plugin to be able to edit it. Now i am happy with 8 new ores i want to add into mod i'm working on. Big thanks for answer <3

If you're getting the pink texture, first thing to try is that you linked to the texture files correctly in the xml.

If the file location and reference are correct, maybe it's something about the file. Do you have a _cm and -ng?
cm is color/metal with alpha channel controlling metallicity and rgb channels as the image
ng is the normal/gloss where the alpha channel controls gloss and the rgb channels are a normal map. If you don't want metallicity or gloss, you still need the alpha channels for the texture to work.

I am fairly sure the textures need to be square so that's something to double check.
Also check to make sure you're generating mipmaps when you export your textures to dds.

DonCDXX can you please tell me how to add my own ore into spece engineers ? i am working on a mod where i wanted to add some new ores but i have issues with dds files. I edit them in paint.net but even if i'm making new one still i'm getting pink asteroid whenever i try to test it using shift-f10 in game and spawning ore asteroid. I saved dds files in BC7 also i tried saving them as volumetric map. Nothing

This mod shouldn't affect anything like that. There's no scripts or anything that are capable of that kind of interference.

I don't know if it's changed since I made the mod, but there was a block positions part in the xml that gives the x,y coords of the icon in the g menu

So, for the edit I'm making I added a few blocks though something I am confused about is: How did you get your blocks to be on the bottom of the "All Blocks" list in the G menu? I can't find anything asociated to it. My block variation groups are scattered at the top of the list.

there is a modded version of it with an asteroid.
il do it with adminhelper mod on my survival server... so i spawn an asteroid and with the helper commands it is possible to fill the whole roid with the material you need

i think it should be possible t build a script to let spawn roids where and when you need it

It would be nice if there was a way to get duranium without having to add the planet, like say a very resource and intensive refining process.

Ok, we have it now on our survival server since more than a month. No Issues so far.
@big_blue_4101 yeah youre right but if you have a warship with only heavy armor and you can get 20% of all that weight down that is a good benefit.....20% can be much...

I have tested the durability with Aryx Weapon Enterprises, especially the Tempest Heavy Cannon and i can say vanilla heavy armor has a hole after the first shot :-) Duranium Heavy Armor can hold 3 shots without much damage (tested with 3 Layers each) So very good against normal kinetic projectiles.

So it will be worth to farm it on a survival world eventhough 20% less weight instead of 50% :-)

THX Doncdxx for that nice MOD it gives our Server a new nice Goodie!!

Yes, I haven't touched these in over a year. I think a lot of things have changed since then. It was all accurate when it was initially made. I'm sure I'll get around to fixing them eventually.

you need to rework your armor blocks. the description says half the weight of steel. but the small blcok only weighs 4 Kg less then 20 Kg steel block and the large 100 less then 500 Kg so thats more like 20 % weight reduction instead of the 50% promised.

Bad work with armor blocks grouping- Icons confusing. Few blocks have a broken model
Real armor rate 15x, 16kg per plate(its ok)
Defence shield mod are crazy durable with this armor (shield's health depend on ship's total HP)
8x or less is fine enough
<DropProbability>0.95</DropProbability>... is useless string due it will not appear in signals without editing the containers

It should appear there, I recently tested it on a dedicated server. All I can suggest is that you double check the mod loaded correctly on the server.

I dont see the planet, its not in my shift f10 menu. I installed the mod on a multiplayer server. Probably user error but....?

There are normal versions and asteroid versions. The normal versions don't allow them on asteroids but the asteroid versions (obviously) do. If you want the planet and want the ore on asteroids, you can use both versions, but the asteroid version must be above the planet version in the mod list.

The mods are added just like any other mod. The planets don't add to the map you're playing on automatically, you'll have to place the planets in creative mode.
