This mod is sponsered by the Age of Empires II intro video...

Haha it's true @MrBoomBastic! The whole set is like that in real life. The figures all look grumpy or sad or bored. They crack me up.
MrBoomBastic 28 Dec, 2016 @ 10:43am
lol even the chess pieces look like there fedup of chess.:steamhappy: good job with the mod tho.

Thanks much Concomitant! Soon I'll be able to put this into Survival too. The chess pieces can stack in inventory now, you can carry a full 32-piece set in just one slot. (The table would take up a 2nd slot.)

Anyone who's thinking about maybe downloading this mod—It works as intended and will be a great addition to your world.

Great job, STORI3D PAST Productions!

Hey Blastmetal, yeah a couple other people noticed that too. I had never played AOE2 before, but I've watched the video & love it. I think you're right. It looks like they used at least some of the Lewis chessmen as their inspiration for that intro too. It's really cool seeing & using actual 1000-year-old objects in a game world.

This reminds me a lot of the chess pieces used in age of empires 2 age of kings intro.

Sweet I'm glad you like idea. Figured it might make it easier to be playable. Also seen life size pieces in a couple movies. Looked really cool. Even if you don't get to it, this is a very awesome mod. It looks great in my tavern ;)

Thank you much Blackout & Saviliana! Yeah, it's funny. I had never played AOE2 before, but I've watched the Intro now and I love it. Wolfgar, that's a terrific idea! I'm juuuust noodling the idea of making these animated & movable too. I don't know exactly what's possible yet. But it may be possible to push them forward a block, and then rotate them in a new direction so they can be pushed in that new direction too. It would be so cool to have a life-size set in a garden that can be moved like that.

STORI. I just thought of something. A large version of this. Human sized pieces or larger like the Royals or Nobles had in the courtyard. If you like idea anyway and have the time for it.
Saviliana 27 Dec, 2016 @ 8:53am
Great, now we can enact the age of kings (AOE2's opening).
Preacher 27 Dec, 2016 @ 7:40am
Excellent work.
Andex 26 Dec, 2016 @ 1:13pm
Cool! Gives me the Age of Empires 2 cinematic vibe.

Thank you Coggernaut & Cornuscopia! I wish the animation system was just a bit more robust. If so I could make these pieces movable automatically on command
Coggernaut 25 Dec, 2016 @ 11:38pm
Amazing!!!

Oh, Stori3D, you are crazy. In the most positive sense. Now even a playable chess set in Medieval Engineers! :)

Thanks wolfgar, I love what you've already done with it!

I know Titanius. I'm going to go back to that "Surprises" mod of mine and see if I can at least get the hatch lever working right away with a decent hitbox. I have a couple ideas!
titanius anglesmith 24 Dec, 2016 @ 10:36am
we need some hatch doors :D for floors ;D
titanius anglesmith 24 Dec, 2016 @ 10:32am
