Special Collectible Obtained: 3 papers (the 4th one turned into blank paper after taken back to office.)
Also, the tentacle in the forest and the mirror texture are both missing. Not sure why, but I do remember when using Editor to open the map, it mentioned "Unable to find textures" or something.
Secondly 1)I didn't know about, I know exactly what the problem is, at one point when I was making this everything flew upto the basement ceiling. My last update moved the cellar door a small fraction and I've obviously forgot to align the terrain to mach, thus causing the bug.
2) I may look at some sort of disposal method out in the woods, I agree there is a lot of footfall back and forth.
But like all great maps, there were just a couple of things I think could be improved
1. There is a glitch when carrying a bucket down the stairs. The bucket becomes attached to the floor of the first floor as you walk downstairs. This has only happened a few times but was still quite frustrating as i had to keep going back and forth.
2. I think this is just me, but could you add a shredder into the woods? I find it quite difficult to keep going back and forth out of the forest to put garbage etc into it and found be helpful if there was one in the forest.
Other than that, I think this is one of the best VCD Maps out there! I loved how you added the bridge into the map and the pages of the Necronomicon in the cellar and how you added Linda's head into the shed too! :)
Strangely enough a LP'er has just started this map on his channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWCMsjP_C0a3Kjk6qpOcoiA
and yeah it seems a tad darker than planned, it all depends on peapoles brightness settings I guess, I have mine reasonably high. Plus I placed all the trash so I know where to look. Like I said i'll look into it, brightening the map, as you mentioned below, would most likely fix the problem.
I seriously enjoyed your map however there are a few problems that need to be addressed a bit my friend. The first one is I have to be frank in the movies the house was a heck of a lot brighter. I had to put a Lantern in every room just so I could see what I was doing.
Then I do like what you did to the shed I actually kept the chainsaw but the door was so small when it came to getting those crates out it made it an absolute pain.
Next to me once you increase the size of the Cellar Door and stairs because it's easy to get things down there it's hard has sin to get them out. Sand in a carpet my friend.
Then there was the huge amounts of trash that was in the forest that was unseeable.
I'll have to say is I'm going to recommend this to a friend but there are certain things you may need to change about the layout.
the freddy kruger claw in the shed was a nice touch.
I found just throwing bins down was ok, and walking backwards with buckets worked too.
Only cons I would say is:
-Evirorment could have been a little improved open, felt a little "open" for a cabin in the forest. --- -Basement had this bug where you had to jump to actually get down the stairs, so there was no point in bringing bins or buckets down in there.
-The walking/ground sound for the outside could have actually been changed...sounded like walking on a metal floor then actually dirt and grass
Other then that, nice little omage to ED!
in this map, it's hard to see things clearly with this fog.
Can be hard to get a good balance of playable light vs atmospheric light.
it's just a little bit dark, but it's not like abandoned asylum that dark, for me it's perferct enough XD
