This appears to cause a crash in LWOTC because it calls `GetDifficultyFromSettings()`, which isn't available in WOTC.

Oh, and I have a couple questions as well.
1. When does ForceQuit take effect? If I set it to true then launch the game and load a save file, will my active TDEs be deactivated: immediately; after I complete any mission; or after I complete an HQ assault? (or some other timing which I haven't though of)
2. If set to true, will ForceQuit erase missions that would counter a TDE as a reward? Detected or undetected?
I hope my writing isn't confusing! If you'd like me to rephrase myself or explain something in more detail, please let me know.

Hey, I'm not sure I comprehend the ForceQuit and NonInfinite settings. Could I get some help?
In my understanding:
- ForceQuit, if set to true, will forcibly deactivate active tactical DEs, which is how you "plug in" the mod to an existing campaign;
- NonInfinite, if set to false, will keep tactical DEs permanent, as is default with LW2, but makes it so that completing an HQ assault will deactivate one tactical DE.
- NonInfinite, if set to true, will make tactical DEs expire (only) after some time has passed since their activation and they may reappear after expiring.
Is this correct? Have I properly understood how this mod works?

this mod isn't working for me, all the dark events i get aren't being change in any way shape or form, i did go into the .ini and set the dark events to be forcibly disabled but nothing happened, this mod is broken for me

Thanks man, like Swordspider said, this mod really saved my long war 2 campain. I really like using concealment mechanics with my soldiers and the "Vigilance" dark event completely ruined that possiblity and fun. Having it last a month is way better than the entire playthorugh.

Does this still work? 'Cause in one of my campaigns I had quite a few Dark events spawn outside of where contacted regions were.

I found this mod after my LW2 campaign starting going downhill with 11...ELEVEN... Dark Events active. And that's after completing missions that cancelled many others. Ridiculous. Just one of many questionable design decisions by Pavonis.

This mod really helped "save" Long War 2 for me. I *know* it is supposed to be hard, I get it- but sometimes you just want to play a game to relax and blast aliens and not have to load 3x because you got ripped by bad RNG and aliens with like 40 HP because they are buffed way too much and completely imbalanced... unless of course you want to get your butt kicked per Pavonis rules. So yeah, thanks a ton for making this game fun again!

it's not really a wotc mod though...it is a LW2 mod.
They are seperate branches of xcom2.

Mod is not working for me: still got plenty of active tactical events after 5+ months (even so i manage to interdict every new advent upgrades)

Hi

So im already into a game and ran a few tests. The mods seems to be working, my question is what are HQ assualts? And will i get them for already active dark events? Please reply soon as I would rather get rid of them through missions then set a timer kill with inifite off.

Would it be possible to adjust the amount of dark events that are removed upon liberating a region? As there seems to be no value for that in the ini files.

Sorry but after reading i'm still a bit confused..
In your ini file (default):
1 ) ForceQuitEvents = false
Therefore NumOfMonths = 2 is not intended to work according to your explanatons
2) NonInfinite = false
MinDuration = 35
MaxDuration = 56
as said above, is not intended to work..
The only line left that is supposed to work in the mod is
ContactedOnly = true
I'm lost...but maybe i'm doing something wrong

Could be a Mod that SHOW where the incomming Dark events are being researched? So i can focus in that region to counter it.

NumOfMonths governs how long a dark event is allowed to last if you're forcequitting dark events. This only works if ForceQuitEvents is set to true.

MinDuration and MaxDuration govern how long dark events last if you're not using that, but instead having non-infinite, repeatable dark events enabled. This works if NonInfinite is set to true, *and* if these values are used with a new campaign. (Dark Events work weird, you can't really alter how they're allowed to activate in a campaign already running.)

RM thank you for your mods, they have made the Xcom experience better and better each time I play!

However, I am having an issue understanding how to make this work right. Sorry, barely computer literate

What lines am I altering to make events non permanent, and how toset how long they last and how to counter them? I don't mean to be a pain, but the events do make mid game LW2 very unfun. Thanks for your help whomever can help me.

Two lines of code on which i would need better clarificaton
1) NumOfMonths = 2; how long can a tactical dark event last before it has to expire?
2) ;these govern how many days dark events last when activated and if set to non infinite. For comparison sake, LW2 dark events tend to take around 1 to 2 months to actually activate.
MinDuration = 35
MaxDuration = 56
Generally speaking i'd like to slow down Dark Events

Honestly the Long war devs are just c***s. DE's can spawn permament dark events outside areas you havent explored and the avatar project - which if you havent read online or happend to do the missions for it f***s your 40+ hour campaign? That's not hard or difficult thats shit game design and false difficulty.
